How many MCN do you have and how often do you have to wash them.

I was just wondering how many MCN most people have for full time use :confused: I am thinking you would need to wash them every couple of days - so you would need around 16-20 and more if you didn't want them to get worn out too quickly?

I have 8 MCN and a dozen terry flats, we wash every second day or every day. It's usually because the bucket get's full, we still have heaps of nappies left over.

atm i have about 12 i wash every 2nd day. Ill have about 22 soon so they wont get washed as often

We have a few. I wash ever y 2 days as the bucket is full and its easier for me. Then I am not stressed about the bamboo drying and rain etc.

ummmm, I have 18 fitteds, 3 pockets and 3 AI2s...so exactly 24...lately I wash every 3/4 days, but bare in mind DS spends a fair chunk of the day with no nappy...if he is in a nappy all the time its every second day...

I want more fitteds, not because I need them desperately, but I like buying :devil6:

Oh and I have 11 covers...10 of them are woolies :o

I have 13 MCN at the moment, and I need to wash every day - so I'd definitely buy more than that! :laughing:

On the positive side (with the exception of my Pea Pods, which are looking a bit sad), none of my MCNs are showing any wear at all even though I wash them a lot (I have GKs and a Berry Plush). :yes:

I think, to quickly count in my head, I have:
20 bamboo fitteds
9 pockets
5 hemp/cotton fitteds
2 AIO's

We use an average of 5 or 6 nappies in a 24 hour period (taking into account that for 12 hours overnight he has the same bamboo nappy on) And if he has a bamboo fitted on during the day, I tend to leave that on him for longer than any other type of nappy (ie normally I'd change his hemp nappy after 2 or 3 hours, but a bamboo can stay on for 5 or 6 hours) (This I mostly do if we're out for the whole day)

Oh plus I think I have around 24 terry flats.


My boy is a once-a-week-ish poo'er :laughing: (probably about once every 5 or 6 days) so when he poo's, I wash a load. That way I don't have a pooey nappy sitting there any longer than needs be :laughing:

I have about 20 MCNs, and about 40 flats. I have 11 covers, so I only have to wash every second day or so. I could go longer, but I like to use my favourite nappies as often as possible!

I have 17 fitted and 3 AI2's, although I've only had the AI2's for a couple of months.
I wash most days to every 2nd day, but it's not very often I do just an only nappies wash - I wash them with all the other laundry aswell, allowing me to always have nappies on hand.

It's recommended to have about 24 nappies if you want to wash about every 2nd day. Plus the more you have the longer they will last as it'll be less wear and tear on them.

I have about 40 pockets, and about 15 fitteds, and 3 AI2s, I have 2 AIO coming :o thats for 2 children, and I wash every second day.

I have made about 90% of my stash myself though :D

I have 2 buckets, and they are both jam packed and overflowing by the time I wash, and it's definately a full load. Plus I'm usually run out of pocket nappies before I've folded the dry ones

I have 46 mcn (mainly bbb and mandymacs) and soon 4 bamboo flats..lots of covers pul and woollies..

I wash my nappies and used pul cover every second day to keep them in top shape!

woollies i wash only when soiled or smelly!!

lots and lots of covers/wraps/woolies/inserts/boosters/fleece liners ect...

and a whole stash of newborn nappies and covers for the next one.

I have sold well over 50 nappies now :o because i came to the realisation that i was going overboard and the addiction was unbelievably insane (DH was very frustrated to say the least with me) so a lot of nappies weren't being used. I can probably cull more but i'm planning for another soon so best to keep them now. DD only goes through 5 to 7 nappies a day and i wash daily.

You can get away with 24 MCN or flats.. there's really no need to go overboard like some *hrm*, it's just very hard to contain yourself when you see gorgeous nappies floating around.

Im actually not sure how many I have, but its not that many and I wash every second day. My baby only poops every few days though so that cuts the nappies down a bit.

Thanks for all your info ladies - looks like around 20 is okay to wash every couple of days. I have just received my BB trial pack and they are gorgeous! I can see this being a bit addictive :rolleyes:

I wasn't sure whether to go for the BB pack of 25 or the 10 pack ..... might see if I can find something in between.

I also have 3 bumgenius pockets and 3 hautes on order .... see addicted already :laughing:
