I'm sooo glad I persisted with breastfeeding my little boy

When I first started, I dreaded every feed.....I had thrush and nipple vasospasam. Some nights I would cry when he woke to feed BUT suddenly at 7 weeks everything has fallen into place and I'm really enjoying feeding him. I never ever thought I would feel that way.

He's gained 2 kg's since birth (2 months) and I'm so proud that it's because of my milk....

I always said I would start to wean him at 3 months but the other day I thought OMG that's only 4 weeks away..... I'm not ready to stop yet

So thanks to all you lovely ladies who answered all my questions in those tough early weeks.......Just hearing you all say I was doing a good job helped me soo much. This is now one of my favorite threads!!

:D

Good on ya lovey, you are doing a fantastic job and I'm so glad that everything is going so well for you now :hugs:

Now you have a responsibility - you need to pass this kind of info on to other new and struggling mums; tell them how it did all suddenly fall into place, tell them how wonderful it is after the initial challenges. Your little chubba bubba will be the best advertisement for breastfeeding!!

:yelclap: Welll done!

I'm proud of you and maybe one day your son will appreciate the best healthy choice you've given him!

I wish I had your strength.
I am looking forward to the next round.

Well done!
Good on you for persisting through the hard times.
What an accomplishment.

My story sounds very similar to yours. I had bad cracked nipples, thrush and mastitis. I often wonder how I got through it. In the end it was such a great feeling to have overcome all the problems and continue to BF.
I ended up feeding until DS was 12mths.

that is so great to hear at a stage where I am still dreading every feed, due to the attachement pain.... it will get better... congratulations.

:smiliedance: Good for you. :smiliedance: I feel exactly the same way. I ended up bottle feeding and breastfeeding with a nipple shield with DD and I was determined to give it a better shot this time.

I almost caved in the early days but stuck it out and I'm really enjoying b/feeding (never thought I would say that :D ). I aimed to get to 4 months (DS is 11 weeks) but am the same as you and plan on continuing breastfeeding for much longer.
