I am meant to be getting a tattoo for my 20th b'day which is in June. I wanted it on my shoulder blade. But I don't think I should get one know as we are getting married in October.

Did anyone else show their tats?

Thats one of the reasons, I would never get a tattoo on my shoulder blade for when I was walking down the isle.

I have 2 tattoos, and they are both hidden :)

I showed! They are a part of me. Though, that said, depending on colour and size, skin tone colured zinc cream does a great job of covering, I used it on my ankle tatt for a job interview.
Congrats on your up and comming wedding BTW! :yelclap:

i want my back done, the whole thing. or maybe just my lower back and up my spine. that way most of it is hidden anyway.

Exactly the same here. Where are yours? I have one on the back of my hip and another on my left ribcage, just under my boob.

My sister got one on her shoulder blade in a moment of lesser judgement and has regretted it ever since. When we were looking for bridesmaids dresses for my wedding, we were very limited because she didn't want to show it and I was happy to oblige.

My bridesmaids were all showing their tatts on their shoulder blades but i think they looked pretty JMO :)

The real question is: Do you care if a tatt is showing on the day? Or are you more concerned with what others at the wedding will think?

oh no you just made me tihnk of all of my sisters tattoos that will be showing through her bridesmaids dress!!

I will never get a tatt but in your situation I'd DEFINITELY wait til after the wedding or get it in a hidden spot!

I wouldnt get one in a visible place b4 my wedding.....mainly because some churches have a problem with this.

I'll be getting one for my 21st (November and Im getting married in March) but it'll be hidden

It's totally up to u, i wouldn't mind showing mine (inbetween my shoulder blades and pretty big) because it's part of me and i've had it for years, but again it's up to u hun i think they look nice but that's JMO.
Good luck and congrat on the upcoming wedding too!

I had mine in full show i was wearing a corset i have my spine done (its about the width of my hand) and a huge peice on my lower back and two half sleeves plus the inside of my wrists done

YOu can get makeup to cover them its about 70 dollars a pop but it works.

As everyone else has said its up to you..i think why get a tatt and not show it off LOL thats my view but some people like to hide theirs its totally up to the individual.

A wedding is only one day. Think about all the other occasions you will have to wear something dressy to in your life. Think about whether you want it on your shoulder blade or somewhere where it can be covered if you want to.

I wouldn't base my decision around how it will 'look' in my wedding dress. If I wanted the tattoo I'd get it and wouldn't care what people thought it looked like.

Who cares what other people think?

Yep, mines on my shoulder blade and it was there for all to see when I got married. I figured it is a part of me and I didn't get it to hide it. Nor, though, did I have it 'on show' when I got married. It just worked out that the dress I chose was off my shoulders so there it was. In fact I don't recall thinking too much about it at the time.
