in writing my baby shower list??

After 3 girls and no baby showers I find it highly unnecessary to have one (although have always liked the idea!), however a good friend of mine is INSISTING on throwing me one as I'm finally having a baby boy!

However - besides a little clothing (and a few other blue items) I don't need much. I've been laybying and buying clothing, "boys" linen, blankets etc for weeks now and am slowly getting stuff together, so what do I put on my list?

The only things I can think of are a car window sock and an in car bottle warmer.
Has anyone got any ideas as to what's new out there that might come in handy etc?!
So far my list has things like nappies, wipes & softly washing liquid!

Obviously I'm raising 3 kids and haven't gone without, but maybe someone else has some suggestions - even if it's a luxury item that people can put in for together??

Thanks!

i had things like clothes, room decorations (thats if you have a nursery theme planned) nappies, wipes, lotions, shampoos, breast pads, towels, and face washers.
ummm what else. a big thing at baby showers that i ahve been to is that everyone is buying those baby record books, where you write the details of the babies first 5 years, for a keepsake.
you could also ask for things like a time capsuel for things that you have collected in the babies first year. spoons and bowels, for later on.
a bottle steriliser, or bottles, if you are doing formula feeding, or expressing.
oh and a breast pump.
still thinking about what i got.
i had heaps of clothes, so make sure that people get different sizes if they want to get you clothes.
i wish i had have asked for photo frames. coz then i would have had them here already to hang up photos straight away.
i'll try and think of more and get back to you.

Just of few of my suggestions and ideas, hope they are of some help;

A 'boy' nursery decor set you like...they could put in and get you that, from memory Living textiles sell nursery set that include nearly everything…

Boys clothes, boys bib, socks, booties, hats, wraps ( Fish lilly have very cute trains & cowboys wraps)

Nice keepsakes such as train/plane silver moneybox, nice record book or photo album.

Boyish toys. I know there is a soft cuddle robot in David Jones (very cute and only $26).

Magazine subscription to you favourite parenting magazine. (magshop.com.au)

There plenty of baby stuff just for boys...you may have some of the items, but it may be nice to have something new and special for him! Such as a blue giraffe high chair available at Target.

Baby video & sound monitor (if you don't have one)- I think from memory they are $299 at Babies Galore.

There is also a new product on the market some mum swear by “Lullabug” (http://babyhugs.com.au/lullabub.htm) $249

Also a newish product on the market is “AIRWRAP” bumper safe breathable cot bumpers available online and in store @ Babies Galore.

New nappy bag for you or voucher for pre/post natal massage.

Parenting book specifically raising boys.

Grosvener Kids Cutlery sets are very cute and a nice keepsake… (urbanbaby.com & David Jones) or what is very cool is Dinnersaurs Spoon and Fork Set from the same shop.

Good Luck xo

OMG! All of your ideas are AMAZING! I'd never have thought of half of that! (Especially the massage voucher for after I have bubs!)

Keep the ideas coming, my baby shower list is finally getting some substance to it!
