I am wondering how does a pair of soakers go under a pair of tracksuit pants? Would it wick through?

They can leak to a certain degree, but mainly if they have compression for a long time.

I am just wanting to know as 2 of my BBH PUL wraps, the elastic has gone in them and I only 2 left and I have a feeling they are on the way out. I only have shorties as I haven't gotten around to making my longies yet. So I was just wondering for when I go out and it gets cold if I could put long pants on over the shorties without it leaking or wicking.

I noticed if bub is wearing jeans over wool compression leaks happen.
I prefer babylegs with shorties if bub isn't wearing longies. Otherwise fleece longies would be okay.

bit of a hijack here..........if wool has compression leaks, then how does it work so well overnight, when presumably bubs is laying in the one spot for a long time???

Its about pressure and not having any circulation in between.
I don't have this prob at night (only in pram as I said) cos bub moves around and he is a tummy sleeper or more like bum in the air sleeper :o
I think that loosely knitted wool covers are best - as this allows for more air to circulate.

Would a higher ply wool used in the knitting be better for night time use? I'm thinking of getting some 12 ply for my next soaker, but not sure how different it would be.

So I take it that most bubba's don't wear all-in-one suits to bed????

I have knitted with 10 and 12 ply and I prefer a thicker knit for night.
