Heya Sonia,
What happened with the tradition of moving the thread when I leave for a while. You made it way too easy for me to find you this time :p
You go sexy mamma in those new shoes with your new handbag and 15kg lighter. Hot stuff! Only 7.5 months to go until Nath & Ozzy's first play date (not that I'm counting)
How was Nath's first Christmas? I'm hoping you've got some adorable photos for me to see. If you have a look at our website (it's in my signature) you'll see Ozzy's Christmas photos. He was spoilt rotten - but how could anyone resist a cutie like that! I look awful in the photos - a bit of a reality jog I think. Definately time to stop making excuses and drop that weight. Besides, DH won't let me fall preggers again until I drop 40kg - so any tips would be greatly appreciated slinky mamma.
Manxie is entertaining pretty much the entirety of her inlaws over Christmas so I doubt she'll have much time to post :( . Manxie - if you log on and get a sec, let us know how your first Christmas with Lucy was (and call me if you need to escape the outlaws for a while).
How was everyone elses celebrations? I think I ate my body weight in chocolate (damn that's a lot of choccie :p )
Well, not much else to report. Ozzy is now an expert at going to bed. What a champ. Still cries overnight sometimes (last night was a shocker, but he had such a big day that I kind of expected it anyway). He still fights his day sleeps sometimes, but on the whole, he's sleeping from 7pm until 6am. Now, if I could only drag my fat bum away from the computer earlier than midnight then maybe Mummy could get some sleep too, *lol*.
Ciao bellas.

Hi guys
Found you - hope you all had a great christmas.
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRrr to outlaws!! Sorry Larissa but you are going to be in for some major whinging when I see you. I gave MIL a picture of bubs for christmas professional jobby, it had me in it but it was the back of my head so you couldnt see any of me but guess what she whinged. When I was out of the room mind you to DH - Oh why arnt you in it, I'll have to tell everyone its you blah, blah, blah, thats it she is never getting another present from me miserable ........sxswe!! I had a gutfull of snide comments on and on. And my DD let me down, cried when I tried to grab her off MIL:( I was soooo upset!! I dont know what I've done but I've obviously p....d her off in some way and boy is she letting me know....nice work when I dont have any of my family here, selfish so and so. Deep joy three more outlaws arrive tomorrow, Larissa hellllppppp!!!
On the good news side, I told my mum we are visiting next year and she is so excited and its making me excited too. I thought she might start stressing about the arrangements but she is just so thrilled she is taking it all in her stride. (She's 74 and cares for my dad who is 80) but it seems to be no hassle even saying she can accomodate my friend and her family who want to come and visit! Not like some we could mention.
Enough I feel better all ready - all the best for the new year.
hope you noticed I put the thread directions IN BOLD in the old link, larissa - no chance you could miss it!!
sorry hope you don't mind me moving it, but figure we probably don't belong in the preggers section anymore!!! at least not for a while again... ;)
hey larissa the website is awesome, how cute does ozzy look!! and hon, you do not look that bad, no worse than me size-wise, and you're really pretty!! I still have 20kg to go before I get to a normal-ish size, but that will still be big (12-14 top and 16-18 bottom) - any less than that and I'd have to start amputating limbs... the secret is not falling into the trap that "just one" or "a little bit" will be OK because in my case it is not and I am like a pringles ad, once you pop you can't stop!! One chip becomes a packet, one piece of choc becomes a block etc etc... so it is easier to just eat my main meals and behave myself! Thanks for the compliments, will keep on going! Next target is 10kg and we are going out for yum-cha as a reward for that one!
Now on to CHRISTMAS... was soooo good, Nath was an angel and looooves all his new pressies! well actually mummy loves them too and has had fun playing with them! :p Nathan is so close to getting up onto all fours, he can do it for about 2 secs before collapsing, and is spinning himself around and trying to grab onto things to pull himself forward, e.g his new play gym. We are buying safety gates tomorrow, crawling day is fast approaching I fear...
manxie, sorry to hear about MIL dramas... it must be hard being away from your own family, and made doubly worse when MIL is a control freak!! Can't believe she said that about the photo you gave her as a pressie!! Rude woman!! Santa wont bring her anything next year, don't worry. ;) I'll have a word with him for you. Did Lucy enjoy the day though? did you get heaps of good piccies?
Jessie, hope you and Em had a good chrissie.
Now to New Years... we are going out and Nathan is staying overnight at my folks place - 1st night away from him overnight... could be stressful, but nothing half a dozen vodkas won't fix!! Yes girl, I have my drinking shoes on again and my liver is back to being thrashed properly, I manage about 3 whole drinks now!! And I can still stand and sound coherent! Happy days!
take it easy, and chat soon.
xoxo Sonia

Helllooooo girl,
I lost you all for awhile- stooopid computer!
So glad to hear everyones chrissie was brilliant (except for evil MIL :() I loved the day- although my princess is afraid of the sound of ripping paper WHAT THE?????
She also hates- with a passion the spinning top i got her (u know the ones you push down at the top- merry go round thingy)- she screams if she even sees it???
I think i have one temperamental cancerian on my hands!!!!!
She still sleeps with me- i know terrible- but i am off to QLD tomorrow and i didn't want to get her in a routine before we left so it's all happening when we get back! I PROMISE myself that she will be in a cot- happy by the end of Jan!!!!!
Wish me luck!!
Imy is now 66cms- and still only 6.9kgs!!! This would be because she refuses to eat!! She only drinks 120-140mls of S26 4-6 times daily:eek: ! She will not take anymore!!!! And- she will not eat off a spoon unless she holds it- Miss independant! If she doesn't want to eat something she will hold her tongue out of her mouth and just let the food drip off- why is my 5.5mthold winning this battle:rolleyes: ?????
But she sits, and pushes up onto her knees, she rocks but then nose dives and if she gets close enough to something- (A-frame) while sitting she trys to pull up- can get halfway there but her legs aren't quite strong enough!!! I fear she'll be walking before i know it- I want my baby back!!!
Any who- i'd best finish my packing- love to you all, hope all babies are treating their mummies nicely!
XXXXX's and OOOOO's to you alll- and Happy new year, I'll speak to you all in 2006!!!!
Shannan
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
That was subtle wasn't it??
Hope you all had an awesome NYE - I went to a madhatter's party, had a beautiful fairytale princess hat, a wand (I was a magical fairytale princess), pink heart bling bling, it was all very tasteful! Had a great night, and I survived my first night away from my little bubba. He slept over at his grandparent's place and was excellent apparently. Probably handled it better than I did not having him!!
Guess what? Nathan has tonsilitis. Seems that he picked up a virus which gave him spots (we thought pear allergy), then oral thrush ("all babies get thrush, don't worry about it, perfectly normal) and then a cough - turns out his immune system is sh*thouse and the virus has developed into tonsilitis. So he has to have antibiotics and I feel like the world's worst mummy because I didn't drag him to the drs on day one. :( DH assures me I'm not crap :o
Taking down the tree today and making Nath's naming ceremony invites - we're naming him on Aussie Day 26/1. Stupid me decided making invites would be FUN! NOT!!!
Hope you all had a good new years!
Enjoy your holiday Shannan.
xoxo Sonia
Hello, quick update...
We are good, Nathan is getting a lot better, still has a little cough but almost all gone which is great. I started work on Wednesday and am still alive!! It was really good and my new team is great, so hopefully I made the right decision with work. My dad minded Nathan Wed and Fri and did a great job, Nath was really happy and Dad had a great couple of days with him. Let's hope he's still this enthusiastic in 6 months time!
I have to go and get Nath weighed and measured this week as he seems HUGE... his 00 suits are a perfect fit now and I've packed away most of the 000 stuff. T-shirts are still OK but singlets are waaaay too short and suits too tight now. Can you believe our babies are 6 months old this month?! Incredible! Nathan's Naming Ceremony is on Australia Day and I want to get a new outfit for him, but I don' t know whether to get a 00 outfit or a 0... I think 0 otherwise he'll only get one wear out of it, right?
We've had so much rain in Brisvegas this week, we were meant to be gardening today but it's still raining (thank god, I don't garden, but DH was making me!!) It's good we need the rain, just hope some is making its way to the catchment areas... how's the weather been for the rest of you?
Nathan is doing great on solids now. He has farex and apples for brekky every day, and then for dinner I'm trying a few things. So far: loves sweet potato, banana; hates avocado (jessie you'd appreciate that!). I'll try him on pumpkin this week, and once I have a few options that I know work OK for him then I can start to get a little more creative! I steamed a whole heap of vegies, mashed them and froze them and the little cubes work a treat, perfect meal size. He has one breastfeed a day now, as his early morning feed, and then 4 bottles of formula throughout the day.
How are the other bubs going? Anyone else working? How are you feeling about it?
Take it easy. Hope to hear from you guys soon.
xoxo Sonia and Nathan xoxo

Hey girls,
I was thinking about you being back at work this week Sonia. Glad it's going well. I'm trying to avoid having to get a night job for as long as possible - cutting back on the spending wherever possible - even switched to cloth nappies  actually not as bad as I anticipated, but ask me again in 3 months, lol.
Weather here has been crazy. Hot then cold. So hard to keep up with what it's doing. It's pretty hot here today so Oz is sleeping in our room overnight cause there is an airconditioner in there. He sleeps well in the portacot so that's okay.
Starting to organise my 30th, which is in about 5 weeks. My first night away from Oz. My Mum is going to have him overnight. Could get very messy as I haven't drunk for 18 months now. Most I've had is 3 glasses of wine on NYE. I'm not planning on getting hammered, but being such a cadbury girl now I'm gonna have to keep a real eye on it. How tragic.
Oz is doing well with his sleeping. Still has some nights where he won't settle and I have to go in there. I can't manage to leave him to cry anymore - that wore off a couple of weeks ago, much to DH disgust, lol. So no more sleeping through the night for the little man, but I honestly don't mind too much - I can get up to him, put his dummy in and go straight back to sleep without really noticing. I usually couldn't even tell you how often he wakes overnight cause it doesn't effect me anymore. But he is sleeping unwrapped - regardless of anything else I'm just so happy about that (yes, I used every editing button available on that word, lol).
He's on solids now. Has rice cereal in the morning with either some apple or pear. He loves it. I've started giving him lunch too - started with pumpkin but he hates it. I've tried it for 4 days now and he still won't take it. I think he loves his cereal and fruit too much - I try the pumpkin for about 5 minutes and then when it's pretty obvious that he's not going to take it I make him up some cereal and he starts banging his hands on the high chair table and singing and laughing. Hmmmmm, do you think he likes it? I'm going to try him on some sweet potato this week and see how that goes. Then some carrotts and after that some potato. I'm doing our own vegies too. I've got the ice cube trays to freeze in, but Oz eats so much that I just half fill one of the tupperware snack cups. With his cereal he eats about a Heinz cup 1/4 full of cereal with fruit mixed in and then he has straight fruit after also. I worry that he's eating too much, but I stop offering it to him after a couple of mouthfuls and he keeps opening his mouth and banging his hands until he gets more, so I figure that he wants/needs it  . He's still having 5 bottles throughout the day (4 and 1 rollover feed). He rarely drinks a full bottle (250ml) and doesn't seem to have the attention span to sit there and drink an entire bottle (I even switched him to Avent # 3 teats to increase the flow and decrease the time). I have a strong suspicion that he's going to wean himself from his formual feeds by 9 months. I'll keep making them up and offering them to him, but once he's having 3 balanced meals a day and a couple of good formula feeds then I'm not going to stress about it. He'll find what works for him and balance himself out. He loves laying on his dinosour couch with his bottle of water and feeding himself. It's soooo cute.
He's still not interested in rolling, but he still LOVES standing up. DH thinks he's going to walk before he crawls. Probably right. He shows no interest at all in tummy time, rolling or anything like that, but will push himself up onto his feel at every given opportunity.
I weighed him on the grocery scales at Mum & Dad's shop the other day, lol. He was around 9kg, and then I measured him today at home and he was 69cm.
his 00 suits are a perfect fit now
lol - I say that about Oz's 0 suits:eek: He's still in some 00 stuff - but mainly separates as he's so long that most 00's are too short in both the body and the legs. I'd go for an 0 for Nath for his Naming Day - you'll want to get him something cute so you may as well get more than 1 wear out of it.
I seriously have having trouble believing that our bubs are nearly 6 months old  Where on earth has that time gone?
Is anyone else thinking about baby #2?? We'll probably start trying in 12 months. I need to lose my fat ar$e first.....

Welcome back girls----
not sure if that is the correct way to phrase it but- hey it works for me!!!:p
So glad to here that Nath is feeling better- it is so horrible when they are unwell! Especially with something as horrible as tonsilitus- ughhhh!!!
Wow- Promqueen- Oscar sure is growing well!!
Miss Imogen is still a skinny minny!!! She will be weighed on Tues but i would be surprised if she hits the 8 kg weight range! SHe is still on her diet- nothing i do convinces her to drink more formula????
So she is still only having 120ish mils- 5-6 times a day! (sometimes only 4) I don't know what to do- but hey she's definately not suffering due to it! She is a strong, active alert little lady! She too pulls up to stand at every opportunity- cheeky rat!! She even took 4 steps (holding my hands of course- and very shaky) she initiated it herself!!!!
I think it was a learnt thing after watching her friend Nicholas in queenslad! He is 8mths- and crawling everywhere! A real terror :) (in the cutest possible way)!!!
She is still in 00's they fit length way but she has no waist- when she lies flat on her back (ie/ sleeping) she is all ribs!!! Must talk to the MACH nurse this week!!
Ummm what else to add to this lonnnnnngggggg post- she won't take food off a spoon- no mash!!! She likes big girl food!
So she has toast to suck on at breaky- and sometimes she will have some fruit through the day (necterine etc) but not a great deal!!!
When i was in QLD i gave her "Vaalia" yoghurt frozen into rolls ( ummm look like logs etc) she loved them!! Great way to cool her down and to get some more food into her!! Just do it in the bath or laundry sink as verrrryyyyyy messy:D
Any way i'd better wrap this up- i could talk all night!!!
Luv Shannan
P.s- Got imy into the cot- only 2 nights into it- some arguing from her, and tears from me- but tonight went much better!! Now to get her off one of the night feeds (not that i'll do that til she ups her day feeds!!)
Hi girls
Sonia-poor little Nathan, big kiss from Lucy glad he's feeling better :D Glad going back to work went well. I'm still holding out on this - LOL couldnt do it anyway at the moment as still havent got off my lazy bum to express milk, doubt she'd take it from a bottle now anyway. Maybe when she cuts out her rollover feed I'll think about doing a night shift:eek: Was actually looking at the District Nursing Website yesterday thinking about when she is at school, crikey! It will be here before we know it girls.
Well I'm just loving Lucy more and more. She is fairly good at tummy time, has rolled a couple of times but think it was just an accident. We get very excited when she pulls her knees up, think she will be a crawler but not for a while yet. She can manage to move herself around in circles. She is desparate to be on the move mind. Go Immy that is one strong little bubba:D Congratulations on the cot.
Hey Larissa - totally agree re the weather, what is going on???? Thankfully its a bit cooler today, I got cabin fever yesterday as we stayed in all day!
Lucy is only little too, I'm desparate for her to hit the 8kg mark so she can get out of the capusle and into the car seat but she is only about 6.5kg at the moment. She dosent look skinny, chunky little legs. She still feeds three hourly during the day I'm happy with it and figure she'll start having less once we start weaning. Yep I'm holding out on this, she is only just 5months so another 3 weeks and I reckon we'll start.
My mum is getting very excited re our trip back to the UK, buying furniture and rearranging the house, not bad for a 74 year old. I cant wait to see them, even starting to look forward to the flight??? Must be mad. Any ideas on a good bag for carry on Sonia?? (I just love buying new bags for trips-LOL)
Well enough rambling
Kisses for all the bubs
ooh forget to say (what a bad mother!) Lucy has got her bottom two teeth comming through. Anyone else got teeth yet. Already had a few ouch moments with the breastfeeding, going have to seek out Janet F's advice.
WOW all the bubs sound like they are doing gr8!!!
Miss Emma is 5 months 1 week, she is very bright and bubbly and enjoys acting like a 'big girl' *LOL* She is having 1 BF and 3 2ooml bottles a day PLUS a two course lunch of fruit and yoghurt and juice. AND meat and vegies(puree) for dinner with yoghurt for desert and a 200ml bottle:eek: We havnt had her weighed for a month but im sure she is over 7kgs now! She is still in 000:eek: but i put her in 00 when it is hot so she is cooler. She has started wearing 000 singlets and i have packed all her 0000 things away.
Emma is an absolute water baby! She wears those little swimmers and her little rash shirt and doesnt even mind going under the water!!!! We are sooo proud of her! As soon as she sees the water her little legs start kicking, its so cute to watch. She has a big bath every night which is were she gets to practice her moves! LOL
She really loves to be on her tummy now BUT she hasnt started to crawl yet(not like Nathan)she is just happy rolling all around. BUT Emma can sit up by herself for about 3-5mins and if she is proped up with pillows she will stay there for ages. She uses her hands to steady herself now! I have a feeling she will walk before crawling, she will take about 10 or so steps in a row when you hold her hands. She can pull herself up to a standing position with only holding on to your 2 fingers.
I wish her teeth would just come up and stay that way! she has about 6 teeth that are giving her sooo much trouble they are just under the skin but i think it will be a while yet:( I would be lost without her teething rusks!!
Hey Sonia its gr8 to hear that Nathan is feeling better! Emma misses him soooo much! Thursday avo is still ok for us. Any ideas on where to go? PLUS we will be there for Nathans naming day, any ideas on what to put in the time tube? Im stuck for ideas?
Thanks for reading!
jessie
Thank god, you lot aren't dead or anything, I was beginning to wonder... was it the smell again?? Sorry ladies, need better deoderant...
Manxie, I am a sucker for luggage by Antler... convinced DH that I need "the best" being a travel agent... ;) seriously though, just go try on a few bags, there are sooo many available now - just try wearing it while you're carrying Miss Lucy and imagine you've been pacing around an airport for a while!
Shannan that is great news about imy and the cot. Now you can spread out in bed again!! Wierd about the lack of eating thing though, I don't think seeing ribs is good (unless you're a catwalk model... hey that's a thought, she could end up making you a mint!!) Check it out with the CHN. Maybe it's the formula she doesn't like?? It does taste pretty foul!!
Larissa, so good about Oz and sleeping unwrapped! Talk about a victory! You are too nice a mummy, I am definitely not! If I am trying Nath on a new food, if he doesn't eat it too bad, I don't make anything else for him. The only persistant rejection has been avocado. Sweet potato he disliked the 1st time then ate it all up on the 2nd go.
Jessie I have messaged you about thursday. Time capsule ideas... will post asking for ideas! And speaking of swimming, Nath goes underwater too! He loves swimming!
Well better get organised as i have tonnes to do today.
Take it easy!
xoxo Sonia

Aggghhh i need to vent- Why does noone ever reply to my threads?????? It makes me so cross that i post a thread with a problem and noone responds????? :(
Not you girls of course because i always get fantastic advice here- but out there nothing, nudda and i know people are looking at my questions because it says so!!!!!
Anywho i'm over that now- thankyou manxie for your reply!!!!
Sonia- the MACh nurse said her weight is in the normal % and that some children just don't eat!! She also said imy has a lean body??? I'm taking her to the GP though cause that doesn't sound right to me!!!
Swimming- IMY loves it- she is a real water baby!! We swam each day in QLD- and i too make her swim under water!!! She can actually "paddle" herself forward to me under ther!! I am teaching her to "swim" although that isn't really what it is it is a life preservation thing- where you teach them to float on their back! So if she somehow falls into water she is able to roll to her back and keep her face above water! Have a reallllly good book on it!! (so far she can't do this- but perserverance)

Hi everyone! I'm new to this bub hub's thingy and i'm finding it very interesting. My boy's 6 months today, and it was great to read your info on your cherubs and know i'm not alone in the whole night waking thing, he's waking about 4 times a night, but it's the 3:30 mark where the battle really begins, sometimes he won't go back down till 5:00. I can't do the CC, he gets to hysterical, or i do:confused: so i'm just going with the flow now, have tried just bout every bit of advice i've read on hub bub to no avail. he has slept through the whole night once, haha.;) Day sleeps are a whole nother ball game, im not even going there.:)
He cammando crawls everywhere and has been for about 3 weeks now, he gets up and rocks, and can sit propped up for awhile but prefers to roll around. he pulls himself up a little bit, but hasn't shown much interest with it as yet. I've just started with the solids, he has nana cereal in the morning which he loves, and today he ate the whole thing! I'm interested in knowing more about this fruit thing, as of yet he's only ever had purred food, do you give them a whole chunk of fruit to eat? if so what kind? i'm a bit worried he'll choke as he's got no teeth yet. He loves ruskies, so i'm thinking he'd probably like holding a bit of fruit. Thanks for all the great tips on solids so far!
This is the best website i've found so far, i can't believe it took me this long to find it!:D
hey mix welcome, another boy in the group WOOHOO! Not that Nath doesn't love all the chicky-babes, but Nath and Oz were feeling a bit left out since Logan doesn't check in that often anymore... ;) Mix what is your bubba's name? What date was he born (baby brain can't work it out!!)
Guess what? Went and weighed Nathan... don't die of shock... he weighs...
8.3kg
Holy cr@p he has jumped a percentile!!!!!! Shannan, I reckon he's put on enough weight for himself AND Imy!!!! That's 1kg since the week before Christmas!! LIttle munchkin is not so little anymore!
We had a playdate with Jessie and Emma today, and while we were having lunch this English couple asked us if we were a mother's group - yeah, all 2 of us!! Funny! Neither Jessie nor I can believe how much our bubs have changed and are so grown up now. Same for all of us here too. Emma was making Nath laugh today, it was so funny. THey were chatting away to each other. I wish we all lived nearer each other! Who's stupid idea was it to make Australia so big??
Mix where do you live?
Hey Shannan, good idea to see GP too. The "lean body" thing sounds wierd to me, but what do I know, my bubba is a blubberbub now! But he is still a spunkrat and I think his pudgy legs are cute!! Hey I and know what you mean about not replying to threads... I reckon you have to post something totally stupid to get a reply sometimes, and the serious questions get left alone!! Well not always but it seems the more I want an answer the fewer replies I get! Although I did get a heap of replies for my friend about her Nuchal Translucency Results the other day which were v. helpful and my friend really appreciated the advice and comments, so I shouldn't complain really...
I'm just rambling now!
Right, better go and wash bottles, that maid of mine STILL hasn't turned up, can you believe it?? Plus the washer woman and the ironing lady are rubbish too... I'll either have to do it myself or go shopping for new clothes... oo there's an idea...
Ciao ladies! Kisses to the bubs as always.
Love sonia and nathan "beefcake" jones

Hi Jonesso!:) My boy's name is Riley and he was born 11-7-05 he was 9 pound 3 ounces when born and he's just over 8 kilo's now, like your bubba! I think they're chubby legs are cute too, my boy's even got little man boobs:eek: i call him my little budda boy, coz when he sits up he crosses his legs over each other, like yogabubba, he's freakly flexible.
I'm a first time mum and loving it, we live in good ole Toowoomba, we're old mates are a plenty:rolleyes: (local joke, anyone you know is old mate when reffered to in conversation)
anyway look forward to more updates on all the beautifull bubba's in future!
:) Hey Sonia THANKS for such a good day today! Nathan is turning into even MORE of a spunk now, and for the record he isnt that big!!!! AND if we are talking bout chubby legs im pretty sure Emma wins that one hands down:rolleyes: Tell Nathan i luved our cuddle today, he is getting so strong now! and Emma blows kisses and cuddles his way:p
I really cant believe how they were interacting(SP?)today, they seem to really enjoy each others company dont you think??? By the way......why is it that when im with you we see a celebrity? thats twice now:eek: untill i met you i think i had only ever met one famous person and that was "ranger Stacey"from totally wild*LOL*
Welcome mixinitup! im glad to see you like us 'july mummies'

Heyloooie all!!!
Sleep deprivation has set in and i am loopy!! te he te he- welcome Mixinitup! Your boy is so cute!!
Just to let you all in on some gossip- there is a "no-cry" cult that has started! [names removed here - no personal attacks please]
Apparently any parent that conciders CC in any form is commiting Child abuse and should be locked up!!! MMMHMMMM- yes i am a little peeved at this- but couldn't reply as it was in a "no cry" forum so it probably wasn't my place!!!
I know there are many varied opinions on this topic- and no one answer is correct for all babies and their families but [some] women sh*t me to tears! Apparently only their opinion is right!
Hmmm vent finished now- i am sorry but can't post it anywhere else- LOL- might get attacked as i wander the bubhub streets!!!
Sonia- 8.3kgs- WOW- must have been all the xmas pudding!! Way to go though- does he have the really cute twist on wrists! IYKWIM
Mixinitup- how clever of your little boy commando crawling already- Imy goes backwards and boy does she get frustrated!!
Anywho off to bed now- Night all!!!

She has been really good at tummy to back- but a bit slower with the back to tummy! Well today she just got it:D she was playing on the floor (while i was reading WHO:eek: ) and then she rolled to her back- then was reaching foor a toy and flipped onto her tummy! The look on her face was priceless!!! And then she went over and over and over!!!!! YAYAYAYYAY imy!!!
I just had to share my moment with someone!!

Hi all
I am Lea and my bub Brooke was born on the 2 of july 05 ,
great to see all you bubs doing so well :)
Brooke has come along in leeps and bouds she has been rolling since 4 months and got her first 2 bottom teeth at 4 1/2 months , just a few days befor xmas she cut an eye tooth and 1 week ago she cut 3 more at the top.
she runs all over the house in her walker has been in it since 4 months she is just so keen to get up and go, she is trying to crawl now gets up on her hands and knees .
we are off on monday for her 6 month needles :( not a fun time for any of us .
well hope to get to know you all a bit better will chat soon :) .
Hi girls
First off welcome to the newbies here-
Mix-glad your here. Sorry that you too are having sleeping problems, must be the age, I've read a few posts that say that they get unsettled at 6 months so I've got that joy to look forward to. I did a form of settling, wont called it controlled crying as she hardly cried when bub was about 4months so if you want any info re this let me know and I'll send it to you. Dont like just posting stuff as I might get hate mail - more about that in a bit! Commando Crawling already thats great, Lucy is desparate to get moving, she can go around in circles and moves forward a little way but hasnt got it all sussed yet. Look forward to chatting with you.
Outbackmum-My god Brookes got heaps of teeth! Do you B/F and if so have you had any biting issues? The walker sounds great I'm sure Lucy would love one so she could follow me around. Have any of you guys got Jolly Jumpers??
Shannan - Tusk, Tusk you naughty girl, noticed youve been moderated! I saw the debate and good on ya for sticking up for your fellow July mumma. I guess people are always going to disagree about the whole Controlled Crying thing thats why I dont really post much about it I prefer just to PM people if they are interested in what worked for me. I know that what we did wasnt by any means cruel, wont have scarred her for life etc, etc. How are things going? The residential thing sounded good. To be honest I think you need some support when you are trying to change their sleeping habits its hard and knackering doing it on your own, not that I need to tell you that. Anyway hope your doing o.k. Go Imy on the rolling:D Lucy can do the tummy to back but not back to tummy - its suits her she prefers it on her back!!
Jes - what celebrity did you see with Sonia? I suppose now Sonia is a t.v. star she is going to attract other luvvies, LOL.
Sonia - wouldnt it be cool if we were all close by or even within driving distance, maybe one day we'll all get together. Nath is one big bubba, I'm going to weigh Lucy today, still desparate to get her to 8Kilos so she can go in the new car seat! Especially as I've washed the liner for the capsule and cant work out how to put it back on - just wait to DH see its I'll cop lots of flack as usual.
Anyway sorry this is such a long one - My best buddy is comming out from the UK next week, yay I'm soooooo excited cant wait to show off Lucy.
Big kiss for all the bubs

Hi Manxie, I'm open to any advice, guess that's why i first became interested in bub hub'n it. I didn't realise that it was so taboo to speak of such things:rolleyes: My boy's been asleep for 2 hours and has woken up 4 times already, it's gonna be a long night!:) My DB is giving me the afternoon off tomorro so i can catch some zzzzz, yay!
I've got a jolly jumper, Riley lubs it. I think i put him in about 4 months, he'd only stay in for 10 minutes or so then as he got tired of holding his head up. But now he'll happilly play in there for an hour or so, I've got a touch musical pad that he jumps on and I sing along to the rymes, which sends him squeeling and spinning around and jumping higher and higher.
Hey Outbackmum, I agree about the needles, our appointments monday as well, first time Riley got them i cried with him. The last time he got them he tried to wack the nurse,LOL. Then after i was giving him a cuddle and he was still crying and he stopped suddenly and started laughing, i turned around to see what he was laughing at and it was this rather large doctor in a suit, i think i was more embarrassed then the doctor.:o
Anyway bye all, going to try and get some shut eye, haha.
They're so beautiful when they're sleeping, little angels. It's funny, no matter how many times my boy wakes up, i still miss him when he's sleeping.

Hey girls,
Welcome to the newbies - always nice to have new faces around :D
Just a short post to let you gals know that I won't be around much anymore. I'm gonna PM you all re the reasons why (don't want to air my dirty laundry on BH ;) ). I'll give you all my email as I'd love to keep in touch.
So...... my last update for a while......
Oz is a legend - I'm still totally smitten by him. He can flick vegies at me at dinner time and I still laugh and think it's amazing that I made this little man who's able to do that :D Last weigh in 9kg 69cm, but I think I already posted that.
Sleeping well now, both day and night. Loves his sleep and gets very grumpy if he doesn't get all of his day time naps (all 5 hours of them!! ), but still sleeps 12 - 12.5 hours overnight, sometimes waking for a quick grizzle and dummy check once or twice. LOVES his rice cereal and fruit - not so keen on vegies.
Well, I'd better go - get this PM done and then back to the real world  .
Thanks for all your support and for your friendship - it's been invaluable.
Hugs and Kisses

Hello everyone...finally.
Yes Logan and I are still around, popping in occasionally to check on everyones progress. I guess I just dont have the time to sit down and write a lot. I have a wedding to plan girls, so give us a break ;) ...he he
Well Logan is going very well. he is 5.5 months now and is on the moove nearly!! He loves being on his hands and knees rocking back and fourth and manages to creep forward by pulling himself along with anything that is on the floor and rocking at the same time. No teeth as yet, its amazing how the bubs get teeth at different times. He still has reflux quite bad and we are having a break from his medication to see if it actually makes a difference. He is still waking up 3-5 times per night but is a great sleeper during the day. We still walk/dance with him to get him to sleep, which I'm sure people stare at me when I'm out and about, for example, I'm in spotlight dancing around with bub in arms :p !! hey whatever it takes though right :D ......? I am still breastfeeding but comping each feed with formula and his last feed he has formula totally. We are weaning him so he is will be well and truely settled into his feeding routine by the time our honeymoon comes around and we have to leave him with his Nan :(
Last time we weighed (2 weeks ago) he was 7.14kg. I am looking forward to turning his car seat around shortly. He has rice cereal of a morning and thats it so far. Will start his vegies in a couple of weeks.
I cant believe they are almost 6 months old already, its gone fast.
I want to get a jolly jumper for him too but at the moment he loves his activity station so that will do for now.
I dont have anything else to say and I'm on the computer trying to do guest lists for our wedding etc so I better go.
Just know I am always around and checking in frequently. Take care. Big Kisses from Logan

Hi all,
Manxie~You will have to ask Sonia what her name was, all i know is she was on that celebrity weigh loss show? She was the older lady with the white hair and the raspy voice:p not a very good discription sorry!!
I'v got a Q for one of my g'friens? She has a 4 week old baby boy and was told by the Midwife at the redlands hospital not to worrie about sterlising his bottles just wash them in hot soapy water and rinse them well!? Now im not sure if its just me being paranoid BUT that just dosnt sound right? Does anyone have any idea if this is good advice or should i tell her to use a sterliser:confused:
Thanks
hello hello... finally my head has stopped pounding... yes Sonia attempted to drink like she used to at a Flight Centre function last night, and I have definitely lost my drinking shoes despite my recent non-cadbury drinking efforts... I got home @ 12.30am, lay on the bed, then promptly ran for the bathroom and threw up in the sink (red wine, eeeeewwwwwww !!!) Not pretty. Passed out, woke up and fed Nath @ 7am, felt alright, went back to bed, not so alright... DH suggested berocca and 2 panadol, neither agreed with me and I promptly brought them back up... eeeeewwwww!!! DH was a gem and looked after bubba while Miss Lightweight here slept the morning away. By midday I was human and ready to begin my day!!
What an irresponsible mummy, thank god DH was a Darling Husband!!
Oh Jessie I worked out the celebrity we saw... ROWENA WALLACE. Last time we had playdate we saw Michael Voss from the Lions AFL... you're right, it's because I'm so famous that I only associate with other celebs now. I'm sooooooooo over normal people **sticks nose up in air** :p
Welcome Outback mum! we're a tad crazy here but we will do anything to help each other, so hopefully you won't find us too scary! :D
Mix, Toowoomba is a lovely part of the world! We have friends in Dalby and Toowoomba. I love the Bunyas, it's beautiful there, and also we frequent "Rimfire" vineyard. The Country Rose is the best! Oh I shouldn't be talking about wine, not good!!!!!!!
i've been offline for a few days (you know, being busy and important and celebrity-like!) so missed the whole CC debate, will have to check it out... Manxie I'm with you, some people would interpret what we have done with Nathan as being harsh but he is such a happy and placid baby that it clearly hasn't had any disasterous effect on him. I'm a well-rested and content mummy too, and that is very important, cause if the mummy is stressed then the bubs will be too, right?? They are so sensitive to what we do and how we're feeling. Anyway, the way that I see it parenting is such a personal and individual thing, and it varies so vastly from parent to parent, baby to baby. I'm so lucky that I've been blessed with a non-colicky, easy-going, happy baby and I haven't really been tested too much with the settling thing. I'm not into attachment parenting, co-sleeping, that sort of thing, but that is purely because that style does not work for me and Nathan hasn't needed it. However, what is to say that Bub #2 won't need to be carried all the time and won't need to sleep with us?? I don't know that, and I won't know what will work best until that time comes. The best way to approach life is to keep an open mind, take it a day at a time (sometimes an hour at a time!) and be willing to give different things a try if something isn't working for you. And that's the great July mummy thing - we all have different approaches, we have all started things are different times for our bubs, and yet we all have beautiful angels whom we love dearly. I always appreciate the suggestions and feedback that you girls give me, so thank you.
My god I'm rambling again... sorry ladies!
Jes, don't know about the steriliser thing... I think sterilising is not an optional thing!! Too many germs etc and bubs are sooooo sensitive, esp only at 1 month old... I'd be getting her to speak to someone else... or maybe try and find some info or an article on the web and print it out for her about why you should sterilise bubs bottles and dummies?? sorry not much help.
Righto better go to bed, off to work in the morning!

Hi everyone,
I hope you dont mind if I join your thread?!?!?
My little Taiya is 6 months on the 21st. It seems like only yesterday she was born. She is eating 3 solid meals per day now and having approx 3 bottles of formula and 2 breastfeeds.
Has anyone elses babies started waking in the night again? :( Taiya was sleeping from about 7pm until 6:30 am ............ in the last week she has started waking at 3:30 am again. How do I get her to sleep thru again
Are you all from QLD? we are from Sydney. We were in Brisbane last week. I dont know how your bubs can stand that heat. Poor Taiya came out in heat rashes everywhere.
Anyway I am looking forward to chatting with you all.
Speak soon
Welcome Taiyasmum
(and welcome Taiya too!)

Hi other July Mummies!:)
Do you have room for one more?;)
Great to see such doting and lovely mummys!
My name is Sahra and I am the proud mummy of Mya who will be 6mths on the 24th jan, I am also 15 weeks pregnant with our second bub due on 9th july (should of listened to those midwives a bit better when they were talking about contraception!!) We live on the Central Coast NSW.
Mya rolled over at 13 weeks and has just started crawling in the last week so everything is slowly getting moved up high, No sign of any teeth yet though, we have been giving her rice cereal for dinner for the last 2 weeks and the last few days some banana for brekky which she loves! Tried a bit of pumpkin but it gave her a belly ache so we will hold off on that one. She was only 6lb born but soon made up for it, now weighing 7.8kg!!
Totally agree with the bottle sterilizing thing, A mum I know has never sterilised her 9 month olds bottle and the poor bub has been in hosp 3 times with gastro.
Hope to get to know you all a bit better!:D

Hi everyone,
Yesterday Taiya seemed to be constipated....she was pushing and grunting the the point that she started screaming (the poor thing) anyway she finally did a number 2 and it was like a hard rock.....
I read somewhere that Paw Paw can help with it so yesterday evening she had Paw Paw for dinner and it worked a treat.....have any other bubs had this problem?? I also gave her a bit of Yoghurt yesterday which she seemed to like. Has anyone been a bit more adventurise (sp) than Rice Cereal, Fruit and Veg???

Hi to everyone!!:) Well I think I'm finally getting somewhere with the whole night waking episodes, he only wakes twice a night now, yippee! I'm happy with that for now, better than every 2 hours, that was insane. Still having to patt him to sleep tho, but it's only taking about 20 mins. Thanks to all the helpfull advice on bubhub, otherwise I think things would'nt have improved as quickly as it has.:D
Riley got his 6 months needles today, he weighs 8.6kilo and 72cm long, neally same as Nathan! and I totally agree with you sonia on the whole CC parenting issue. I'm happy that this group is open and non judgemental, because I think with becoming a parent comes allot of criticism and judgement from society in general on what is the "right way" to raise your child. When it should be whatever works for your family to keep them happy, because let's face it no ones happy when they've had no sleep. I did the 'crying down' method, i read somewhere here on bubhub, and finally things are improving in less than a week, so i'm stoked!
To Renee, i've used yoghurt with my boy, who hadn't poo'd for 2 days, then the next day 2 poo's, tho he didn't like it much, so I'll give pawpaw a go if it happens again. I've also givin him a big chunk of steak (under the relentless badgering of the grandparents) and he loved it, he sucked it untill all the juice was gone out of it. I've also givin him a corncob which kept him content for ages. Tho he still has no teeth! Sorry to hear your Taiya is waking I'm sure someone here will have some helpfull advice, I can't really give any coz i'm a first time mum and am just basically winging it:eek: and yer it's hothothot here but if you have an aircon, things aren't so bad for the bubba's, now mine's sitting up i've got a little pool for him to sit in which i'm going to try out on the weekend. Tho i think some of our july bubba's are already in swimming classes? which i'd luv to hear more about, hint, hint.
congrats Sahra on your new little bubba to be! Mya is adorable and don't wait untill you come in to find her chewing on your practical parenting magazine(which was on the second shelf) before you finish moving everything up like i did, LOL.
Riley ate a whole bannana yesterday, pigboy (his nickname) and is trying to go from crawling position to sitting up, but gets about half way.
Has anyone else's bubba's still got blue eye's? when are they supposed to change?
Kisses for all the angels

Hi ladies (and bubs)
I just thought I would share that Taiya is no longer constipated!!!!!:D
After trying Paw Paw and Prune Juice yesterday she did 2 of the biggest poos I have seen in weeks and not only that she has started sleeping through the night again. I think she might have started waking again because she had tummy pains.
Do any other bubs drink from a cup?? I have tried a few times and Taiya is starting to get the hang of it.
Oh also one more question....What are everyones routines?? People say that you should give bub food and milk at the same time but I dont..I find she only has one or the other.
This is our routine
6:00am Breast Feed
sleep until
8:30am Breakfast
10:00 Bottle
sleep up to 2 hours
12:30 lunch
2:00 Bottle
Sleep up to 2 hours
Between 4:30 - 5:30 Taiya ususally likes a small breast feed for a couple of minutes (I like to think of it as a snack)
5:30 - 6:00 Dinner
7:00 Bath then Bottle and Bed
Also I have noticed some mother offering their babies "3 course meal" I only offer Taiya one meal 3 times a day. Should I be offering vegies followed by fruit and yoghurt (or similar)???
Anyway off to finish my washing - It has been raining here for the last week and Taiya almost has no clothes left:eek:

Hello all- and welcome to all the new mums and bubs here!
I disappear for a week and come back to a full house!!:)
Life down here in canberra is fantastic- i have secured a new job starting in feb 21/2 days a week so i am stoked! Unfortunately Imy now has to go to care- and i am a little bummed at that! I know she'll love it but i am just going to miss her so much:(
Well our sleep issues are getting better- i perservered with the CC but i modified it to suit me (cause i'm a bit sooky and can't listen to Imogen cry)- I give her a kiss, cuddle into bed with music box on- i put hand on her belly til she lies still (almost imediately now) and then i leave the room! I didn't let her cry- what i would do is go back in if her whinging got to bad- so no tears just lots of whinny noises IYKWIM
To start with i had to return to the room up to 5 times to do this! But now she goes in and goes to sleep almost immediately!!! YAYAYAYAY she still wakes over night but i have got that down from 5-7 times to 2!! 130am- and 430am! Quick feed and back to sleep!!!!!!!!!!!!
I feel so much better- thankyou every one here for your help with this- sooooo great to have this support network!
I enrolled Imy in Swimming lessons and we start on Tues so i will let you all know how it goes!
Kisses and Hugs to all,
Shannan
OMG I turn my back for 5 minutes and I come back to pages and pages to read! It's great!
Welcome Myasmum, Mya is adorable! :D And congrats on Bub#2 - you are gamer than I am!! I had a pg scare when Nathan was 3 months but was neg... I was relieved but at the same time a little disappointed as another bub would have been wonderful and we would have made it work... and hey, you don't have to worry about your extra pg kgs yet either! Good luck with the pg, hope all goes well. Mya will be a fab big sister I reckon!
Taiyasmum great news re: constipation. I haven't had to worry about that with Nathan thank god (we had our own share of dramas though!!) but will remember pawpaw and yoghurt!
Actually on food etc Nathan had chicken the other night (Mother Cubes) and looooooooved it! I also tried a little baby apple juice yesterday and he loved that too. Yay! I can't believe he is 6 months old today - how quickly has time gone!!
Routines... ours is very flexible but goes a little something like this...
5.30am Breastfeed, then back to sleep
8am Breakfast (farex & fruit), bottle
10ish 1-1.5h sleep
12pm Bottle
? sometimes a sleep?
3.30pm Bottle
? sometimes a sleep?
6.30pm Dinner (vegies or banana & yoghurt or chicken) - same as you Taiyasmum only give him one thing for each meal at this stage - then bottle
8.30pm (not every night) - bottle - a small one, usually only takes 100ml or so
9pm Bed
Bathtimes change every day - days I don't work I bath him in the morning after brekky, and days I do work I bath him at night after dinner.
Swimming lessons! They're great. We started Nathan at beginning of Dec and have had a few weeks off as they closed over Chrissie, but already he goes underwater and grabs the edge of the pool. He loves swimming, kicks his legs and splashes with his arms. It's so cute. I'm so glad he loves the water, esp since we live in Qld and go swimming every second day at the moment!
Well guess what? We had a monumental moment on Friday night... drum roll please............................................ .................................................. ..............
NATHAN CRAWLED!
And I mean really crawled, not this belly-commando-crawling-sideways-backwards business, but up on hands and knees, hands forward, knees forward, proper crawling! Very exciting!! He is so happy now he has movement a bit more figured out. The kiddie gates are up and now we have to relocate half of the loungeroom as he has discovered everything that he is not meant to - e.g lamps, CDs, remotes, - you name it, he is trying to shove it in his mouth! He's amazing. And he loves sitting up by himself now. I just scatter a few pillows around him for when he gets tired or overbalances and flings himself on the floor. ;) Exciting times.
Well I'd better go as I have to go shopping and get the last few things for his Naming Ceremony on Thursday. He has a hot little surfer outfit - hawaiian shirt and cargos, what a spunk.
Take it easy girls and chat soon.
Kisses to the bubs (and the one bub-to-be!)
xoxo Sonia and of course her spunkrat bubba Nathan xoxo
P.S> Jessie I am not game on the lime!!! Have to build up to it I think!

Hey girls,
Well, DH has gone to bed and therefore finally handed over the computer so I thought I'd pop in and say howdy.
Wow - so many new bubbas, you wouldn't have even noticed that Ozzy and I were gone :p .
Sounds like everyone is doing great! Shannon, Imy is so adorable, I love that avatar. Way to go on the sleeping. I found that with Oscar, as soon as we got his sleeping sorted out he was a totally differnet bubba during the day. Much happier and alert. Have you found this with Imy too?
I can't believe that Nath is crawling!!!! Sonia, what are you feeding that boy - spinach concentrate??? Oscar still hates tummy time, so crawling is going to be a fair way off. He loves sitting up though, but standing is by far still his favourite thing to do. I hear you on the remote issue - as far as Oscar is concerned, if it's in the house then it's fair game for his mouth :D .
Oz is having 3 solid meals a day. While we're swapping routines I'll do ours.....
Wake up anywhere from 6am to 7.30am....
7am - bottle
8am - brekky (rice cereal with pear)
8.30 - 10.30 sleep
11am - bottle
12.30pm - lunch (yoghurt and prune/pear one day and just pear the next)
1pm - 2.30pm - sleep
3pm - bottle
4.30pm - 5.30pm sleep
5.30pm - dinner (homemade mix veg and pear)
6.30pm - bath
7pm - bottle and bed
anywhere from 10pm - 11pm he has a rollover feed. He dropped this feed for a week or so, but he's taken it back up atm
His routine is far from set in stone. I pretty much let him dictate when he wants to sleep and then i try and fit his solid feeds around that, but without being too close to his bottle. He doesn't drink much of his bottles anymore, which is why I think he's taken up the rollover feed again.
I got accepted to Uni this year and all my info sessions and orientation start next week. Mum can have him one day a week, which is all my classes will end up being, but during orientation there is stuff that I should go to nearly every day, and I'm dreading the thought of leaving him in the childcare there. They're putting on free childcare for that period, so I know that I should take advantage of it, but I nearly hyperventilate just thinking about leaving him :( . I also worry about what if he crawls for the very first time (or some other major milestone) while he's being looked after when I'm in class, and I miss it :( I'd just die!!! Anyway, that's something I need to sort out - won't bore you ladies with it.
Well, considering it's 1am I should go to bed!
Take care girls. I'll pop back through soon hopefully.
Sonia - I want pics of Nath's Naming Day Ceremony! What a spunkrat!!!!

Larissa - I am going back to work next week 3 days per week and I also have to put Taiya into childcare....I am very upset about doing this but unfortunately I do not have a choice....everyone keeps telling me that I will enjoy having the time to myself. Although I would rather spend all the time with her.
I am also worried about her making major milestones there and me missing out. But I suppose they will still do it for the first time (at some point) with us!!!!!
What will you be doing at uni?
Sonia - That is so exciting about Nathan crawling.....Taiya is almost there her legs are crawling but the head is still down. At least she is now moving forwards (slowly) rather than moving backwards!!!!
Shannan - What does your childcare centre provide? The one Taiya will be oging to provides all nappies, formula and food and linen.
Anyway Got to Go and eat lunch.
Bye for now.
Renee & Taiya
Hi gals
I cant keep up with all the newbies here its great:D
Well my visitors have gone off for a couple of days so I've got a chance to sneak on here! Unfortunately it has been absolutely stinking hot here so we have all struggled with the heat.
Whilst I am loving having my pals here I have to say its been a bit strange, our lives are now poles apart - they dont have children and arnt really interested in them at all. I am so used to people fussing over Lucy that I find it a bit hard to handle when people arnt that bothered:rolleyes: I can totally understand why people tend to hang out with other couples with kids.
Larissa - you know I'm here if you want me to look after Oscar for you. Renee good luck with the job and Taiya starting childcare.
Sonia - congratulations on Nathan crawling, now youll have to chase him around everywhere, LOL! Its one milestone that I am desparate to reach but know that as soon as we get there I'll be thinking I wish she would just stay in one spot - cant win can you.
Shannan- good luck with your new job too. So glad that Imy is sleeping better for you. I'm a sook too with the crying thing!! Think you did exactly the right thing modifying it to what you are comfortable with thats what I did too.
Mixinitup-Lucy's eyes are still blue - think that they can still change even when they are a year old!
Am I the only one still holding out on the solids? I'm going to stay next weekend after my visitors have gone.
Take care girls

Always room for one more- so welcome to the club!!!!
Taiyasmum- My centre provides nappies, food, bedding,etc- i just have to take Imy and her formula/bottles. I am paying $58 a day- or $174 for the 3 days! Gosh it's expensive!!!!!
I am taking her 2 times next week for orientation- one with me for an hr- and one without me for 2 hrs- so i think many tears will be shed that day!!!!!!! I am not looking forward to it- but Imy likes the centre- we've been to visit 3 times so far and she leans and struggles to get down and play- so hopefully that will help me adjust! (it is me with the seperation anxiety- not imy!!)
Imy's routine is as follows (very flexible)
630ish- wake, bottle, breaky (baby porridge) play
8ish- sleep
9-10ish wake, bottle(if i'm lucky), play
12ish- sleep
1ish- wake, bottle, lunch (fruit jelly or puree'd fruit)play
3ish- sleep
5ish wake, bottle (if i'm lucky) play
7ish- dinner (purre'd meat and veg- yoghurt stick)
730-8ish- bath, bottle, book, bed
10:30ish roll over feed!
130amish- feed
430amish-feed
hmmm that doesn't look very flexible now i look at it- but it is totally led by imy! So i guess that counts :)
Umm not much else to say- Imy is still crawling backwards, rolling around like a maniac and trying to crawl- but she forgets to move her arms so she generally head plants the floor!! Silly duffer!
Hugs to all,

Hi to everyone! Thought i'd share the news......my boys got his 2 bottom teeth coming through:D yippee! He's been pretty tough about it all, just a bit clingy, it's hard to go to the toilet lately,LOL. I don't mind though, just glad I've got my baby pouch, or nothing would get done. He also pulled himself up from sitting to standing, with the help of his pushy walker thingy mind,:p only lasted about 30 seconds before he realised he wasn't in his jolly jumper and started sliding sideways! I'm a bit worried about not being there when he does fall, but I suppose you can't be there to catch them all the time.
So I'll share my routine as well, it's very flexible could go up to an hour either way.
5:00am- wakes up, has a play while mum has shower and milo to wake up!
5:30- B/F, then play with dad before he leaves for work
6:30- jollyjumper time, and stares and try's to talk to our dog Duke (best babysitter in da world,LOL)
7:00- brekkie cereal, is havin Hienz muslie at moment/cup of water as well
7:30-more play or bubba pouch time so mum can get some house work done!
8:00-bath time then massage
8:30-bottle, then promptly falls asleep for up to 2 hours (if im lucky)
10:30-play time, sometimes go for walk with mum in pram at park, if i not lazy!
11:30 bottle
12:30-steak n vegie puree, cup of water as well
1:30- has a sleep if i'm lucky, other wise will hang out for next bottle:o
2:30-bottle
3:30-has bannana or some kind of fruit
4:00-jollyjumper time, now i give him a ruskie when he's in it for his toothy's
5:00-playtime with Dad
5:30-bath, massage
6:00-B/F then bed
10:00- rollover dream feed B/F
3:30-wakes up, i patt him till he goes back to sleep, about 2 minutes now, yay!
5:00am and the day begins again!
Yer so that's about it, though it will be changing again soon as I would like to fully ween him in the next month. I tried to drop the rollover feed last night but he just woke up at 1:00am so i will go back to dream feed, as I feel sorry for my little man with his sore toothy's.
It's great to read that so many of you are doing study's and getting back into the workforce, i'm a little envious.....but still glad I decided to stay at home for the next year, is there any other mums that decided to stay at home with bubba's?
thanx for info on swimming, sounds like fun, I can't believe they're going under water already, wicked!
Well goodnight peoples, it's nealy my bedtime,LOL
Kiss from Riley to all the girls, coz he's a lady's man, n a thumbs up to all da boyz!
Kiss from Riley to all the girls, coz he's a lady's man, n a thumbs up to all da boyz!
Uh-oh, sounds like Nathan has some competition with the ladies!!!
Well it's 4am in Brisvegas and I can't sleep, which is ridiculous as i'm exhausted!! Nathan woke @ 2.30am, leaking bl@@dy nappy grr... and mind has been racing since, thinking about work, the naming day, anything really when I should be sleeping!! i think i'm not used to waking at night with him anymore so my body has gone "must be time to get up!". I am not going to be a happy camper tomorrrow, me thinks.
WElcome to the clan Lukaelmo. Always loads of room for more people... although my **** takes up a fair chunk of it, mind! :p
Manxie, that's wierd about your friends. Even my non-baby friends dote on Nathan, he is their outlet for any clucky feelings they have! When do you go to UK? Are you getting excited?
Hey Promqueen, glad you checked in. Nath misses his drinking buddy! HOpe things are going better IYKWIM.
Shannan & Renee, good luck back at work. I am really happy with the 3 days i'm doing, it gives me a good work-life/mummy-life balance. But I am v grateful to my folks for minding Nathan. $56/day is good, the place I was going to have to send Nathan before my folks offered to take him was $70/day  i tell you i am working in the wrong industry!! And Riss GL with uni, that is really exciting!
Mix, TEETH! That's so great! Oh and on the eyes, yep Nathan's are still blue too. I read too that they can take up to a year to change as well. DH's are green, mine are brown, but there is a fair bit of blue on both sides of the family so you never know, they might stay blue. I am praying for the blonde hair to stay too but that is less likely I fear!
Right , let me go and attempt some sleep again.
Nightie-night
xoxo Sonia and Nathan xoxo
Hi everyone
*waves* back to our latest recruit:D
Sonia - did you get any sleep?? My DH thinks that perhaps my pal isnt too comfortable with her decision not to have kids and therefore avoids getting too involved in order to protect herself - IYKWIM. It really is crunch time for them as she has just turned 40. I am the only one out of our group that has had a bub (strange really) and I know that lots of her other friends have just had babies late in life so I suppose that its not suprising that she is maybe questioning her decision.
Mix - I'm going to be a SAHM for a while yet too. Once Lucy is happy to stay with dad I will probably go back and do the odd shift probably a night shift  Seeing what childcare costs I'm glad that I can avoid it, eek. Dont want to scare anyone but have you asked the centres re their fire escapes? One of the mums from our mums and bubs group was telling us about her friends. She was doing the trawl of centres and asked if they regularly did fire practice (I wouldnt even think of asking this!!). They said yep. She then asked to see their fire exit. They couldnt get the door open:eek: It was blocked by a whole load of tins of paint and obviously hadnt been open for ages. Just thought it something that it worth checking out.
Taiyasmum- My centre provides nappies, food, bedding,etc- i just have to take Imy and her formula/bottles - LOL Shannan, bet you dont ever forget to take Imy!!
Now routine we have just changed to four hourly feeds in the last week so our naps are a bit out of wack but here goes
0700 Wake and B/feed
0800-0900 - Nap
1000 - Wake and play
1100 - B/feed
1230 - Nap
1400 ish - Wake and play
1500 - B/feed
1600- Quick nap
1730 - Nappy off time
1815 - Bath time
1830 to 1900 - B/Feed and bedtime
2200 - Dreamfeed
My trip back to the UK is in April - I just sent off the application form for Lucy's passport yesterday, how cute.

Hi everyone!!!
I have just taken Taiya to the clinic for her 6 monthly check and she is 8.9 kg (naked) and 67 cm long
The nurse said she is big for her age and she has given me a new routing to start which only includes 3 bottles but has breakky, morning tea, lunch afternoon tea and dinner.
I will start 2morrow and let u know how I go...............Im afraid she likes her bottle too much and will need more milk but we will see how she goes!!!
Back to the childcare issue.....My childcare is $95 per day  But that is because it is in North Sydney...................Most around Sydney are approx $70-$80 per day.
Welcome to Lukaelmo :D

I am wading my way through the thread, trying to remember who's who and who has teeth and who sleeps and who doesn't (that would be me!). You lovely lasses have been pretty prolific in the posting department though so it might take me a while!

Emma is booked in for her 6 month check and her shots next week, im really not looking forward to that:( Last time she just screamed and looked at me like i was the biggest B@#ch in the world!
It looks like our routine is VERY different to everyone else! Here it is~
8:30-9am~wakes up and has a BF
9:30~plays on her play gym mat
10~has her first bottle(it doesnt matter what time she wakes up i always give her a bottle then)
10:30~play
11ish~has a sleep BUT sometimes not
12pm(or when she wakes up)~has lunch of fruit and yoghurt and juice/water
then plays for a while
1pm~sleep (or not)
2pm~has a bottle
2:30~plays
3-3:30~sleep(or not)
5~dinner of meat and veggies puree and yoghurt or custard for desert and water/juice
5:30~bath
6~bottle
She is either falls asleep for a while then wakes up and plays till 8ish(bed time) or she stays awake and plays till 8ish
PLUS i give her water and rusks throughout the day. AND if we go out it all changes*LOL* and we play it by ear!
Take care and keep cool

Hi Mummies!
Mya is 6 months today!! yay!!
We have just started teething and Mya came up in a really bad nappy rash on sunday night so with the help of bub hub we started using paw-paw ointment and its almost gone!! Still no sign of any teeth yet though.
We had to get pest control today as I hvae found 4 huge redbacks inside the house, he said outside was infested with them.
Mix- Mya has big blues just like her daddy. She too loves her banana, has almost a whole one for brekky everyday.
Taiyasmum- I bought Mya a non-spill avent cup but she just could not get the hang of it so I bought her a cheap one that has a normal spout and she goes great with it, Although spills quite a bit LOL!
Sonia- Swimming lessons sound great, we are starting on friday. Congrats on Nathan crawling!
Manxie- We have found the same problems with our no-kids friends, They never have bbq's always go to the clubs or pubs so unless we get a babysitter we can't go. We only started solids 2 weeks ago and Mya only has 2 feeds per day so far.
Mya got a passport at 3 months, it is hilarious! they had to take 16 photos to get the right one for the passport office to accept
Imogensmum- I understand what you mean about imy going to childcare, I was the same a few monthe ago when I did a couple of days a week work and left Mya with my sister, all the way to work I talked to her as if she was in the car LOL! Now with #2 on the way i'll be a SAHM for a few years.
Jes- Mya has her shots next weekend too, DH will take her as I just can't do it! She is normally ok though.
Hope everyone is well!!
Here is Mya's routine
8ish- Wake up and bottle, Goes back to bed
10:30ish- Wake up, play and banana for brekky, Plays
12ish- Bottle, Play for 1/2 hourish
1pm-Sleep for 1-2 hours
3pmish- Wake-up and play
4pmish-Bottle, play
5pm- Nap(normally with me on the lounge!) and play
6:30ish- Dinner (vegies)
7:30ish- Daddy gets home and play
8pm- Bath, bottle
9pmish- Bed
Also during the day has about 100-150mls of water and a rusk or 2,
Has anyone tried jelly? I would love to try it but not sure about the sugar in normal ones.

Hey everyone! I'm Stacey, I'm from Brisbane, and my little girl, Chanel Elizabeth, was born July 25 2005 - so she's 6 months today. (by Caesarean, after 2 attempted-and-failed inductions. She weighed in at 10lbs 4oz).
WOW! Crawlers already? Chanel, although trying, hasn't quite made it that far yet. It's mostly just hands-and-knees rocking...as well as rolling, spinning and army-crawling to get to where she wants to go. She's also sitting alone...well...for about 30 seconds or until she starts to wriggle her arms around anyway (she's not too good with keeping her balance!).
Since everyone's talking about routines...here's ours:
About 9am: Wake Up, bottle, lay around in bed for a bit
10-11: Play with toys while Mum watches tv, has a shower etc
11-12: Cuddle and a sleep on Mum
12-12.30: Bottle, rusk
12.30 onward: Play, Sleep, Roll, Cry...whatever
3pm: Watered-down juice and meal
3.30: Sleep/play - teething rusk sometimes.
7.30: Dinner and drink (Chanel likes yoghurt best...which is a pain).
8.30: Sleep for a decent while
10.15: Bottle and cuddle
10.30: Bed
She goes to bed late, and gets up late, because her Daddy is a chef. His hours are late...and her getting up late gives everyone the chance to sleep in (because if I went to bed at 10.30, I wouldn't see him until the next morning!).
welcome sassy's mum
sahra haven't tried jelly... i'm keen to try those fruit gels too...
taiya's mum i have no idea how tall nathan is, i am too unco to measure him myself (plus he's a wriggle pot!) - reckon our bubs will be pretty close weight-wise
just flying by, checking in on you all!
xoxo sonia

8kg..? You've got nothing on my little porker!:p :D
Chanel is 10.1kg...and 74cm in length. Yes...quite a big girl indeed! (Of course, she was born quite big too - 4670g or 10lbs 4oz)

Hi everyone, and the newbies like me, make yourself at home, i did, LOL:p .
Riley has done two new things since i posted last, he goes from crawling to sitting all by hiself and he got up behind his bus yesterday and pushed it all the way to his mummy, squeeling and laughing the whole way, the look of amazement on his face was priceless, lucky i have my cam on standby at all times! Though he was only on his knees doing it, later he tried to stand up and push it but quickly fell and smashed his mouth into the back of the bus, there were a few tears, then he was back up trying again:eek: . It really is worrying sometimes lol.
Great to read everyone's routines, mine has changed in the last few days as riley went off his milk and wanting more food!
Sonia-Don't worry Riley is a gentleman and won't move in on your chikibubba's,lol. Plus he already has a girl, she's 7 months older and they follow eachother around everywhere, she is so sweet to him, if he has a little cry she'll go over and give him a little pat on the back. Though she is still trying to sit on him!
Sassy'smum-wow Chanel is a healthy lass! What's your secret recipe?
Sahra-The pawpaw ointment is the best stuff in da world, i'd be lost without it! It's interesting that allot of us have the same dillema with our no kids friends, we have made new one's with kids and it makes life more interesting. I'm over all the clubs and pubs, but doesn't mean i don't like a good party, just now they're kids running around everywhere laughing, crying, yelling, screaming, fighting, sleepin g in various spots of the house/yard.:D
Thanks for the info on the colour of the eyes! I can't wait to see if they're going to be green like mine or not, i mean's browns fine, but green's better:p
Bye all, have a good weekend!

Hey all just an update on Imy's growth :)
Had immunisations today :( although she took it rather well- just a little cry as the needle went in!! What a trooper.
Then i had her weighed and measured- she is 67.5cm tall- and weighs 7.3kgs!!!
So still tall and skinny!!!!!!!!

Hey girls,
Just a quick one. As you may have read in the other thread we ended up in emergency last night. Oz is fine now. They weighed him there - 9.85kg  that was with clothes and a nappy, but still
He can now sit by himself (with Mummy right there to catch him when he falls). Still no joy on the tummy time or crawling.
gotta fly
have a great weekend girls:D
Hi all:)
Emma went to the health nurse today and she is 7.1kgs and 65cm tall which puts her in the 50th % and her head is 44cm and she is in the 75th% for that. The nurse said Emma needs to go onto the follow-on formula and have brekky everyday now! cause at 6 months they need the extra iron.
I cant believe how many bubs are crawling already:eek: Emma can move around just fine BUT she just doesnt want to crawl!
Promqueen~i hope Ozzy is ok, Emma sends kisses:D
Have a gr8 weekend
My lil man is 7.2 kg and 75 cm long!!!!! (born 2.995kg, 35cm long July 8th)
Gonna be a very tall boy!
He rarely has anything but breastmilk, refuses most things I give him, hates pumpkin, peas, carrot, potato, banana made him violently ill and apple sends him insanely hyper. Pears he enjoys though, and he occasionally accepts rice cereal, though by occasionally I mean 2-3 times a week! (been told not to worry, he'll eat when he's ready, and he's a very bright happy lil fella so no probs!)
He's not crawling yet but gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth, can *crawl* with his legs but moves both arms at once  Can cross the loungeroom remarkably fast though!
He also sits on his own, occasionally overbalances but for the most part he's got it under control :D
This is him over the past week or so;

*proud mummy smile*
He's very active and playful, always smiling and giggling, such a happy lil guy!

Hello lovelies
I'm stoked we have all these new mummies and bubbies, but pls girls wear your name badges as I'm getting a tad confused over who is who!!! ;)
Well Thursday went really well, the weather held up for us (actually turned stinking hot, and here I was worried about rain!) and Nathan was a champion - smiled and chattered away to himself through the ceremony and the afternoon. Loved having tonnes of cuddles from everyone. Got some good pics, check out the website if you get a chance... http://gnsfamily.tripod.com/nathan2005
Today DH surprised me by taking Nathan and I up to Bribie for the day. We walked along Banksia Beach, Nathan had his very first swing (and LUUUUURVED it, BTW!) and a go on the see-saw, then we went to the bowls club for lunch. It was really lovely. Bowls club sounds daggy but food was good and cheap! :D 'Twas great. A quiet night in with a DVD tonight... looking forward to it, I'm stuffed today!
Riss, hope Ozzy is OK. Will read the other thread to find out what happened...
Welcome Tommybub!
Take it easy chickadees
xoxo Sonia and Nathan
Hi girls
Sonia- Just checked out the photos, what a cutie I'm glad that you had a great day. How are you going with the crawling, have you had to Nathan proof your home?
Amy - will go and check out your piccies next, this damm dial-up takes me forever.
Well big day today, started Lucy on solids, she's 6 months on the 5th February so decided it was time. Felt a bit emotional as she has just been a booby girl up until now - is that weird or what?!! She loved it though and lapped it up.
My friends have now gone back to the UK, they got quite into Lucy by the end of their stay!!! It seems weird not having them around.
Had a great day yesterday, remember the new car, well I reversed it into our gate. Nice one, first estimate is $700-I told the bloke that he had got to be kidding me, its only a tiny bump and a few scratches. As you can imagine DH was wrapped.
God, I'm a winging pom today, sorry! Hope you all have a great weekend
Hey Whinging Pom... er I mean Manxie! Glad the friends came around in the end, maybe they were jealous of what you guys have (i.e. they want Lucy!) The crawling is good, seems to have stagnated slightly and doesn't go more than a few cm at a time forwards (backwards is another story!!) Yep we have kiddy gates up and everything in the lounge room has been moved to higher ground!
Riss I hope Ozzy is eating/drinking better again. I feel sorry for you girls and heat in SA!! Hope you're all Ok with the fires down there...
OH! I forgot to tell you that Nath started babbling today - newest sounds are "awawawa" and "abababa". I am trying to make it "mamamamama" but no such luck yet!
Ciao!

Well, we're here and we're alive - barely! Turns out the little man had a tummy bug, which he passed onto Mummy and Daddy. He just went off his food and drink but DH and I got full blown gastro. Made for some very interesting moments overnight with both of us sick and only 1 toilet in the house  I swear I'd rather give birth any day over being that sick again. It was a quick way to lose 3kg though, LOL. Oz still isn't too keen on his food and drink, but he's slowly picking up. He had a massive sleep in the middle of the day today (3 hours) and when he woke up he drank 150ml, which is about 140ml than he's been taking lately  . He still has the runs though so I'm keeping a close eye on him. He's been such a little champion. He's been so good while we've been sick, just amusing himself with his toys, and best of all, sleeping through overnight!
Sonia - just looked at the pics. What a spunkrat. He's so gorgeous. Glad the day went well.
Amy - just had a look at your site too, what a cutie!
Well, I'd best be off - I have a tonne of germ killing to do around the house now

Hi Mummies!
We have had a great weekend here, DH had 4 days off so it was like a mini holiday, We spent most if it in the pool, Mya had her first swim in our pool, She loved it. I got a bit sunburnt though, have a red baby bump now (ooops!!)
Larissa- Glad to hear oscar is better, hope you are feeling better soon too.
Amy- Gorgeous photos!
Sonia- Glad the naming day went well had a quick look at the photos, they are great!
Mix- Riley sounds like he will be keeping you very busy from now on!
Jessie- How did Emma go on the new formula? We started Mya on it yesterday but im finding it really hard to get her to have her bottle, not sure if it tastes different or if she is just going through a faze, A bit of a coincidence though.
Just a question about solids, When did you start your bubs on 3 feeds a day? Mya has been having 2 feeds for about 2/3 weeks now not sure when to start 3?
Hope everyone is well

hey sahra
nathan had 1 meal/day for about 2 weeks then 2 meals/day for 4 weeks, literally started 3/day on Sunday for him. He now wolfs down anything in sight! but has cut back on bottles and has 3 x 150mL bottles and 1 x 250mL now (instead of 4 x 250mL and 1 x 100mL - plus he still has breastfeed each morning, I reckon about 100mL there only.
I guess I waited until now to switch to 3 meals as solids has become more important for his diet now and also I wanted to wait until we had a bit of a reportoire to choose from instead of just giving the same boring food every meal :( . Today he had:
Brekky - farex and Heinz apple
Lunch - steamed potato and pumpkin mash (homecooked)
Dinner - Heinz Chicken Noodle and Vegie puree
I think by about 7 months they are meant to be on 3, so if you would rather stick to what Mya's having for now then that's fine, then up it to 3 meals in another few weeks or so.
Hope this helps!
x Sonia
Hi all,
Emma had her last shots till 12 months yesterday! She didnt mind too much this time round. While we were there this little boy was rushed in ahead of us, he was playing at the park with his mum and little sister and someone had turned the BBQ on and it was still hot! SO he burned both his hands on it:eek: it was horrible, he was screaming so loud! So im taking it as a warning and a reminder to check these things when you arrive at the park so it never happens to any of us!!
Myasmummy~I havnt tried Emma on the new formula yet im just finishing off the other tin first. I hope she likes it:confused: About the 3 meals a day, Emma has been on two a day for the past 2 1/2 months and has just started having 3 last week. She wakes up too late most days to have brekky so i still only give her lunch and dinner most days.
Hey Sonia~i will pm you bout thursday. How are you going with doing 3 full days at work? Im hopfully going to change my hours to 2 full days and friday night from 5, im not sure if thats too much?? How do you pull up at the end of the week?
Take care
just dropped by... nathan had his shots today too like emma, not such a brave boy this time around! :( bless - he weighed in at 8.5kg and is 71cm tall. He is officially chunky but not overweight so that is good news. Dr said all is well and I should just keep doing what I'm doing (do I get a gold star for that??)
Busy busy gotta go.
Kisses to the bubs.

Hi Mummies!
Mya also had her 6 month shots this week, It was the first time I have taken her without DH and the first time she cried:( . My poor girl, she was so upset and so was I so it looks like Daddy is the person to take her from now on. Mya weighed 8.2kg dressed so not far behind Nathan!
Sonia- We are giong to start 3 meals today!! (Yay!) I bought some Baby museli so I will try that with her fruit for brekky and I made some homemade fruit jellies so I will give that to her for lunch and her vegies for dinner. I went to the ECHN yesterday to get advice and she was a great help, We will be trying some steamed chicked later in the week and then trying some tinned salmon too maybe next week.
Jess- I am pretty sure Mya was just going through a bit of a faze with her bottles as she has started drinking more now, The ECHN said I could try going back to the step 1 for a few more weeks if I like as long as she is getting her fruit and vegies so I will see how she goes.
Anyway better get our day organised now before Mya wakes up!
Take care

Hi all,
Emma has her first swimming class on tuesday:D i hope she likes it. Has anyone else started up yet?
Sonia~ Nathan looks so grown up in that pic:eek: I hope to see you guys soon!
gotta go put emma to sleep:p

Hiya Ladies
Thomas is doing great, putting plenty of weight on, 'kinda' crawling, sleeping well etc. Still refusing most foods but that's ok for now ;)
Was wondering, since we live too far away from pools to do swimming lessons, what can I do at home? I mean he is already used to me pouring a cup of water over his head, dosen't bother him at all! I've heard people talking about 'dunking' I'd never do it at home but am curious as to how they do it? Do they use any cues to let bub know to hold his breath? Just the thought scares me! Thomas is forever trying to put his mouth in the water in the bath and ends up choking.

Hi everyone
Well I thought I would touch base again…..Logan had his injections on Tuesday and like you Jessie, I thought they weren’t as bad and he was even giving the nurse smiles before we left. Logan is 7.89kg and 70cm long. We are now trying Karicare DeLact formula to see if this will help him. I have come to the conclusion that he does not have reflux as the medication didn’t really help and have since worked out that cutting back on my dairy intake helped him. The other night he had a baby custard and we had a bad night so went to the doc with this info and she thinks he could be lactose intolerant. I hope we get to the bottom of his pains. I only have one more breastfeed to cut out before he is totally bottle fed. I think I am having a hard time letting it go but I know that it could be better for him.
So last night I was up with him for 2 hours but I think it was teething pains for a change or maybe just feeling a bit miserable from his needles. The new formula seems to have helped already, but it’s a bit early to tell. Does anyone still do a night feed? I'm thinking of cutting Logan's out as I am told they dont really need it at this age its more of a comfort thing.
He is just about crawling, its still commando crawling to me but I was told that he is crawling so I guess everyones definition is different, and he is nearly up on his knees anyway. He follows us everywhere if we let him (we have tiles so I hate it when he’s on them). Does anyone else have tiles? I’m so scared that he will hit is head but I guess it will happen one day and then he would probably learn to hold it up if he fell.
Logan is only having 2 meals a day but will start him on a 3 soon. We only just started vegies a week and a half ago. He has been having rice cereal since he was 4.5months old for breaky. Has anyones bubs had any signs of allergies to foods?? I tried pumpkin and it really seemed to upset his tummy both nights I gave it to him.
He loves swimming, we first took him when he was 3 months old. They take it really slow putting them under water. If you blow in their face you can hear them take a breath and hold it.
Anyway better go, lots to do as usual. Having a BBQ on Sat night for my 28th B’day so am cleaning the house like mad. At least Logan sleeps great during the day so I have plenty of time to do it.
Have a good weekend everyone.

hi everyone
4 new things have happened with my boy since i posted last. He's pulled himself up to standing using the lounge, wow was his aunty impressed:) He has learnt how to do the indian war cry (best way i can describe it, for lack of a less sleep deprived brain:p ) which he woke me up to at 5:00 this morning in my ear! He has also got his 2nd tooth, with much sleep deprivation for both of us. thank God for co-sleeping. He is officially weened from nunu and now has 4 bottles a day! It is bitter sweet, I will miss that time we had.
he also banged his little mouth and nose on his bus and held his breath untill he passed out, which was very scary for me!
Larrissa- hope you have all recovered well, gastro sounds like a nightmare:eek:
Sahra-Riley's been having 3 meals a day for bout a month, and i'm starting to give him soft lumps in his food and am trying out pasta next week.
Isn't it great to be needle free for 6 months!
Has anyone else started with lumpy food yet?
Ladies you have convinced me with the swimming and I'm checking out a couple of places today with a friend who also has a bubba, should be fun!
Riley has a playdate this afternoon with his chikibubba, they'll be in the pool no doubt if the heat keeps up.
Have a good weekend everyone!
I felt like such a bad mummy 2 nights ago, Was cooking dinner and had Tommy in the sling because DH was at work and Thomas was very sick and upset, anyway he thrashed his arms out and caught the side of the oven tray, he now has a small burn/blister thing in his index finger :( Dosen't seem to bother him but it's all red, keeping an eye on it watching for infection.
Amy
evening ladies...
TOmmybub, as taryn said they teach you to blow in bubs face to make them shut their eyes and hold their breath so they can go underwater... we count 1 - 2 - 3 then blow then duck heads under. Once bub is used to having water pouring over their heads and into their faces then you can start the blowing thing. THey'll cry the first couple of times, it's the shock of the water over heads and in faces, then they'll be fine!
Lumpy food, I am still a bit too scared to let rip with pasta and the like... I'm a wuss!
Mix what an eventful week, hope Riley is ok
Jes you won't believe how much nath loved that swing. itsn't the pic great?? hey are we cool for thurs? what time? 1.30pm again? swimming date??
Taz nathan hasn't had a night feed for a while now... goes from about 7-8pm through until breastfeed @ 5-6am, then he has cereal and fruit for brekky about 7-8am and a bottle (150mL).
I'm trying those baby popper juices, and he loves them. is getting quite coordinated with the whole straw concept now too!
Some sad news, DH's grandma passed away early Fri morning. DH and his bro are driving down to Blue Mts for funeral tomorrow. Funeral is monday arvo. Very rushed trip so nathan and i staying up in brissy, too much to put bub through all that travel time yuk plus i have to work monday too. Poor DH. Grandma was 92 and just diagnosed with cancer 10 days earlier, so at least she passed quickly and peacefully the poor love. Great we got to see her in nov and she met nathan.
Right better go to bed, it is past my bedtime!
xoxo sonia
Hi all:)
Sonia~sorry to hear about your loss, probably a good idea not to take Nathan. Gr8 idea with the poppers i will have to try Emma on those! Thursday should be ok, i will just have to double check my roster.
I have decided to stop breast feeding all together now, its been 2 days and my boobies still feel ok. Has anyone got any idea of what they will do(my boobs)
Emma has started to wave bye bye now, which is sooo cute. I cant seem to get her to do it every time but when she does i get so excited and she just looks at me like im a crazy women:p
Still no crawling:rolleyes: but she can sit up all by herself for about 10mins now!although i stay close by so she doesnt hit her head when she falls! Arnt they growing up so quick!!!!!
Has anyone else had any trouble with bubs eating 'home cooked' meals? All Emma wants is the tins?
Ok i better go, take care

Hi Yummy Mummies!
We have been busy here in the last week, I had to work 3 nights last week which was a change for me as I have not worked pretty much since june last year. I was so tired as I look after my 1yr old nephew in the mornings for 4 hours too. It is good practice for me though.
Mya started her swimming lessong last friday and loved it, It was a bit hard though cause she has to concentrate on me and relax but she was too busy looking around and trying to play in the water, I tried to tell DH how to do the moves in our pool yasterday but he has absoloutly no patience.
Amy- At our pool to make them hold their breath they throw them up in the air (without letting go of them) and it is a cue that makes them hold it. The first move we are learning is to float on their back, you hold one palm under their bum and the other cradles thier head and neck they got us to stand over bub and get them to look up at us then move quickly through the water whilts supporting their body, Gradually you can just support their head (we are not up to that yet!). Hope it helps
Taryn- The first time we tried Mya on pumpkin she also had a belly ache so we just went back to rice cereal for a few more weeks, We tried the pumpkin again last week with no problems. Happy Birthday for last saturday!!:)
Mya is having 3 meals now! I give her baby muesli with banana 4 brekky and she loves it. I tried it with apple and pear but no go( the first thing she has not liked) I make all her food and she seems to like everything I have made so far, I made her jellies with mashed peach and apple juice with gelatine and she loves them so that is her lunch, I am a chef and I got containers from work that are 140gms and disposable (like the chinese containers your sauce comes in) and spent all friday last week making all different vegies and meats in them to freeze, We have salmon and pasta, Beef and lentil, Chicken and rice and a few different sorts of vegies. We have not tried any meats with her yet and will be starting tomorrow night. We don't puree her vegies or fruit just mash with a fork and she chews with her gums, The meats I made were pureed though.
Sonia- Sorry to hear about your DH grandma.:( wonderfull she got to meet her great grandson!
Jes- My boobs went to little jelly cups!:o They are getting bigger now though, but I am afraid when I stop B/F this new bub I will have my jelly cups back! LOL
Hope everyone stays well!

Hi all
Emma went really well with her first swimming lesson! She didnt even cry when i had to put her under the water:eek: Our teacher gets you to hold her up in the air before putting her under to get her to hold her breath which seems to work well!
I have come to the conclusion that Miss Emma is just FUSSY, she will only eat tin beef, potatoe and pumkin~tin sweetcorn and chicken~home cooked pumkin or potatoe and yoghurts! I have found a new yoghurt and fruit&cereal which she will eat for brekky. Does anyone know if we can introduce tomatoes/tomatoe paste into their diet yet?
Sonia, i will email you bout thursday.

Hey there
well riley has spilt his first blood. he did it whilst standing at the coffee table trying to chew the side and he's slipped and torn a bit of skin off his upper gum. He held his breath again, this time he went blue then past out then the blood came pouring out of his mouth.
I've spoken to other parents about it and they're like 'yer that's normal, don't worry they'll start breathing again after they pass out' and laugh it off. ole sticks at it I guess, still I don't think I will ever get used to it, especially when they go all limp in you arms, it's terrifying. Has anyone else in the group had this happen?
Riley follow's me around the house now and try's to climb up my leg if he wants to be picked up, he's pulling himself up on everything and is'nt put off at all when he has a rough landing. I think i must've said 'careful' 100 times today, it really is cute to watch him try and keep his balance tho.
Have tried out tuna and pasta with him and he didn't like it at all, tried for 3 days and he had no more than a few mouthfuls of it for dinner. Gave him steak and veg tonight and he ate the whole thing, so i guess he's a steak boy.
Riley has taken to trying to eat anything i'm eating and today he had cornbeef, just a little coz i know 'the salt' but he loved it and cried when i wouldn't give him anymore, and the other night he ate galic bread:eek: and some of my spaghetti:D
Riley met another little boy, who is 10 months and they sat and stared at each other for ages then Riley took his block off him and tryed to suck his shoe.
Well that's it for now, hope all the bubba's are doing well and giving thier mum's plenty of sleep.

Hi girls
Just popping in with some news that my little man is crawling up on all fours. He has been commando crawling for a few weeks now but on Friday started up on his knees, first one in my mothers group in townsville. His sleeping has improved heaps since starting him on a lactose free formula. He wakes at 3am for some water and then 7amish. He is also having a morning and afternoon sleep of approx 2 hours each which is great for me. He used to have 3 but just cut the evening nap of half hour out. I'm still slowly introducing him to foods and he had broccoli tonight for the first time and hated it with passion!! We are off to the docs again on Tuesday to discuss more about his intolerance and ask for some testing as there are different intolerances and he has a lot of symptoms to the milk intolerance too. I just want to be certain and then look into the foods which he cant have. I would love him to have yoghurt but I dont think his tummy cant handle anything milky as he reacted bad to custard.
I'm so sorry about your dad Shannon, just know we are thinking of you. It was nice that Imy's first words were Dandad, that is so special.
Logan hasnt said any words yet, Oh does anyone do the baby sign language?
Still have lots of wedding organising to do, although we did manage to get the invites out last week....what a BIG job!!! We are having a big wedding and its a 4 day thing over Easter on Magnetic Island in Townsville, so lots of work involved. I was tears again during the week when discussing with my fiance' about leaving Logan with his nan for our honeymoon. I will be a mess when we leave him. we went out fishing last night for a few hours and I thought about him constantly. I know he will be in good hands but being with him 24hours a day for the past 6 months.....its hard to imagine not being with him for 4 days. Has anyone left their bubs with grandparents overnight/days??? We are off to the Whitsundays so its not too far away.
Anyway better get going as I need some sleep.
Take care everyone

Taryn- I left Imy over night the other night so i could be at the hosp for dad!
It was the hardest thing i could do! But in the ed she was fine- she slept like a trooper and even slept in the next morning (now why an't she do that for me??)
I think as hard as it will be for you- it will be such a lovely break- and in the end you will have him 24/7 for the next 18 years at least!!! LOL Enjoy the break!
Shannan
Shannan, our thoughts are with you. Isn't imy a clever chicken for talking already??? NAthan is still making no sense!
Taryn, re the overnight thing... I"ve left nath over night once, for NYE and he was fine, my folks loved having him. he stays with them three days a week from 7am-6pm when i work. he is so good with them.
good luck with wedding stuff! i'm sure it will be beautiful!

Hi all,
Taryn~we live with my MIL so even if Emma is being 'babysat' she is still at home;) which makes it easier! We have only left her over night once and that was for NY also, i really missed her and left early the next morning to get back to her!!!
Not that she seemed to even notice!*LOL*
Well Emma has had a few interesting things happen over the last week or so! She has her bottom right tooth half way through(no more chewing on mummy or daddys fingers)its amazing how sharp they are! PLUS she has decided to start crawling:eek: its only been 2 days so she cant do it real well but she is getting better at it!
I dont know if its just me BUT over the last week my 'baby' has turned into a 'little girl' There is so many changes happening to her its not funny! Its like i go to work for 4 hours and when i get home she has changed in some way*LOL* She is really starting to show her personallity, cheeky, loving,smart..............i could go on for hours!!!:p
Sonia~Wana catch up next week? Hows Nathan going?
Take care
jes, sounds good. thursday arvo?
hope all are well. we are good. nathan is now trying to pull himself up to standing from sitting - grabs anything/anyone he can. crawls everywhere, it's amazing. jessie you're so right about how they change constantly, it's like every single day they do something different!! they are growing up soooooo fast!!
my news is that i have to have knee surgery on my right knee at the end of March. I am contemplating putting it off but I think maybe i'm just better to do it and get it over with. It means 6 weeks in a knee brace with a dead straight leg  trying to work out the logistics of that one! e.g how to get to work, how to get in and out of the house, how to manage nathan... will work it out i'm sure.
anyway, better go, have a squillion things on today...
oh hey mix, how is riley? that must have been so scary, the passing out thing... nathan has never done that... {{{hugs}}} hope he's all good now!

Hi Ladies and bubs,
Sorry I have not posted for ages...........things have been hectic with work. I have been trying to catch up on all the news.
Jes - that is so exciting about Emma crawling!! Taiya is still trying - she gets around by sliding on the floor and turning and rolling.
Sorry to hear about your dad Shannon - our thoughts are with you :o
Well Taiya has started swimming lessons and is absolutely loving it. She is the most water confident in her class and also the youngest. Im hoping she will be an olympic swimmer one day.............:p
She has also been an absolute nightmare this last week. She wont go to sleep and when she does she wakes up screaming every couple of hours. I cant calm her down I cant even breastfeed her back to sleep  She is cranky all day and wont sleep unless it is in my bed cuddling me.................and even then it takes me ages to get her to sleep. I dont know how much more if this I can handle. I am so tired and being back at work is making things worse. Do you think it could be teething?? She has also gone off her food a bit and is dribbling more than ever. Her gums look a little red but she wont open her mouth for me to have a good enough look. Has anyone else experienced this?
Anyway I hope everyone is well. I am off to have a nap before she wakes up.
Love Renee & Taiya
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Hi all, where is everyone:confused:
Renee~I have had a really bad week with Emma too! AND yes i think it is teething:eek: Thankfully she only wakes up a few times before midnight then she sleeps till 8ish(and getting earlier)she is cranky when she is awake aswell! PLUS she has decided she doesnt wana eat ANYTHING not even her bottles, she will drink her water and some juice and probably between 75-100mls of her bottles. So i have been a bit worried about her, we had success last night at dinner because i put pears with her vegies! BUT im with you all i need is a good
Sonia~whats happening in your life? I will Email you about thursday.
Take care
I'm still here, never fear...
Life is crazy busy!! Work is great but days are really full-on, working 30hours + in 3 days, thank god I have tuesdays and thursdays off - they are my "mummy" days!!
How cool are these new icons???
Nathan is a speed-demon now, crawls all over the place and standing now, pulls himself up on anything he can find... needless to say there is a lot of falling down and a few tears and even a bump and bruise on the head... but what can you do?? I can't wrap him in cotton wool and I can't put pillows all over the place "just incase" so I guess a few scrapes and bumps is inevitable isn't it??
Jessie, hopefulyl I"m seeing you this arvo!! I've texted you. Weather is stupid in Brissy this week - full sunshine one moment, then ****ing down rain the next!!
Hope all is well with you mummies and bubbies!
Kisses to all the chicks from Nathan, and "hi-5s" to the blokes! :smiliedance:

Hi Mummies!
We are well, I have been sooo busy lately. My mum got married last weekend so we have had visitors since last wed. Starting to go back to normal now though.
Mya had a viral infection last week and had a high temp and was really off then came out in a rash all over so we rushed off to the doctor but he said she was better now but looks like she had a viral infection, I then came down with it too. We are all better now though,
No teeth yet, hope they break through soon. SHe has started sleeping longer though, untill atleast 9am now and getting tired earlier(about 8pm) She must be going through a growth spurt. We had to cut out her lunch feed cause she was not drinking her bottles so now without lunch she has atleast 180ml 4 times pr day.
Hope everyone is well

:D Hey Girls,
Well my boy is driving me bonkers with his night waking, think it might be teeth, but can't see any yet. He's a cuddle monster now and wants to sleep in bed with me everynight
He now says DADAand has also discovered he can yell very loudly, very amusing whilst out at the shops:o
Renee- sounds like teethy's to me, Riley went off his food with his first two teeth and was very sookylala. It took 3 weeks to get his first 2 through, so i'm hoping 1 more week to go. It is a recipe for insanity though isn't it. Taiya is like mine with the cuddles at night, they just want to be close, but it really is exhausting sometimes.
Jess-congrats on the crawling, it really is astonishing how quickly they're growing up. Hope Emma's feeling better with her sore gums.
Sonia-yes bumps are inevitable, but once they work out to bend they're knee's so they plonk on they're bum's things definetly improve. Took riley untill last week to get the hang of it. Knee surgery eh, sounds like your going to have your hands full, hope all goes well with it.
Sahra- sorry to hear Mya and you were sick,it's always that much harder when mum's sick as well. Lucky you for Mya sleeping longer though, hope she keeps it up for you.
Shannon- sorry about the news of your father, Im sure there's always an ear hear for support if need be. I'm sure your dad was proud as punch when Imy said his name.
Taryn- regarding the babysitting thing, i've never left Riley with anyone so can't really share anything there. do whatever your comfortable with and as Shannon said 18 years is a long time!
well i think i covered everyone, if not sorry. By the looks of it everyone's been pretty busy.
Oh yer the passing out thing, the doc says he's fine and must be related to shock and it's nothing to be concerned about. i think I'm going to find a new doctor, the one I have right now I feel isn't concerned enough, so I'm going to a new one next week to see what she says.
Is it just me or has anyone else's eyesight turned into eagle eyes, I'm constantly spotting bits of stuff on the carpet that Riley could swallow/choke. even though i vacume everyday.
Well I hope someone in our lovely group is getting a decent night's sleep, coz I know I won't be.:p

Mixinitup- I'm with you on the sleep deprivation thing! Imy just hasn't got the hang of night sleeps yet! The mach nurse today suggested i take her dummy off her:eek: ummm i don't think so- it is my saving grace at least when i put it back in at night she goes to sleep- i cant take it off her!!
Thankyou all for your kind wishes- dad is feeling ok at the moment- he has decided to do a course of chemo and see how wreaked it makes him- if it is really terrible he wont continue with it as he said 6 good months beats 12 sick and gnarly cross horrid months! so heres hoping it goes well!!!!:fingerscrossed:
Well Imy is crawling- oh my god! Scary stuff- she only crawls to get to things to pull herself up and walk around them! She is a monkey!!!! Even the Mach nurse commented on her "determindness" (made up word LOL)- Imy thinks she is mighty clever- and has begun trying (note the trying) to clap her hands! She thinks it is soooo funny! but it is kind of like air swinging - they don't meet to much! She says "Danda, Mummmmmm, nnnnnn(nan) and bu (which i think is bottle (but could just be proud mummy ears hearing that LOL (((blushing with embarressment)))))
Went to have her 6-8mth check today and scrany girl is only 7.84kgs!!! She has dropped to just above the 25%- so we are watching her weight gain for a few weeks! She is 73cms so a tall skinny minny- with blonde hair and blue eyes! model in the making LOLOLOL...........
So how big are all the other bubs now- lets put a list in.... cut and paste thing
IMOGEN- 7.84kg- 73cm- 7 1/2 mths
Hope all mummies are well- and that the sick mums are feeling so much better (sorry i'm slack and have only just read the posts since i last posted- so am not really up to scatch on everyone)
Hugs and kisses to everybody!

NATHAN - 8.75kg - 71cm - 7 mths
Hello ladies and bubbas...
Well Mix, Riley and Nathan were separated at birth I think... he too has found his voice and has worked out how to have a temper tantrum... mummy and daddy NOT impressed!! :shame: I think my folks let him have whatever he wants, so if he sooks when they're feeding him they blame me and say I am sending over food that he doesn't like, when in fact he'll eat it with me!!! Incredible!! Also chats away at the top of his voice in the shops, and blows raspberries soooooo loudly that I think some people must think I have a severe flatulance problem or something...
and soooooooo cuddly at the moment too, just want cuddles all day and night... love it!
no words or teeth though... shannan it's so cool imy is talking!! and riley too!
standing is nath's newest thing, he loves it. you're right about the bum-landing thing, only just worked that one out over the last couple of days though, so nath is sporting a few bruises...
hope all is well with all of you in your parts of the world.

The poor little mite, she has lovely nappies due to teething, she wakes up in pain, is fussing with her food and wants to chew EVERYTHING in sight! WE HATE TEETH:banghead:
BUT she is becoming so clever*sigh*she can make you melt with just a little smile! She can sit, stand, crawl and rollrollroll! Not any talking or walking yet(thank goodness)she knows what she wants and how to get it, she has even worked out that u have to do it different with either mum or dad*LOL*I have a feeling we have a very strong willed little MISS on our hands!
Sonia~WOW Nathan is so clever, standing up! I luv his new pic.

Thanks Lisa, nice to meet you. Your little girl is a cutie too. Actually looking at some of the othe photos I think we must of all had good looking babies in July!:)
Will hates getting his nappy changed too at the moment - just doesn't want to stay still....the only thing that sometimes helps is if I play boo with him....
We have had a bit of a grumpy day today, I think Will is cutting his fourth tooth:crying: poor little man....

R - Poor little man cutting his 4th tooth ((hugs)) I wish brookes bottom 2 will cut .. I can SEE the imprints .. taking FOREVER to get any!
have a great weekend girls.
morning ladies...
well nathan has decided that standing up is just not fun enough, and nor is crawling everywhere at the speed of light, so NOW he wants to walk!! He pulls himself up and then shuffles along the object to get wherever he needs to - I was soooo amazed when he did it this morning!!! :yelclap: He moved about a metre by himself (hanging onto the couch o course)... it's so great but why can't these stages happen a bit more slowly!!!! Aren't our bubs just amazing??
lisa, nathan hates getting changed too... I have to use the clip on the changetable now as he just wants to roll and flip over mid-change. Makes life a bit tricky!!
Welcome rhiannan. you're right, we all have spunky kids!!
enjoy your weekends girls.
x sonia
Wow Nathan you are a really clever little man! :yelclap:
Our babies are going to be toddlers soon......they are just growing so fast.
Hi all,
YES, we have a very wiggley girl at change time too! so i have decided to do something i will regret...give her the powder while i change her:shame: now i cant change her bum,dry her after a bath or change her clothes without the stupid powder bottle!*LOL*anything for a quiet life!!!
Hey Sonia~ tell that son of yours to stop showing off*LOL*Emma is jelous!!!! He is just soooo clever:yelclap: i PM'd you
Hi Rhiannon~Will is a QT! WOW 4 teeth when did he get his first? AND when he started getting his first how long did it take to come all the way threw? Emma has had her first for a few weeks now and its still not a full tooth
Lisa~we love the rain too! lots of sleepy babes! Good luck with the teeth, it gets better for a day or two after the tooth cuts then they start getting another one and it starts again:thumbsdown:
Ok i better go, im heading out tonight for my sisters B'DAY!
It takes ALOT longer to get PRETTY these days*LOL*

Hey girls,
well I think your right sonia........they were definetly separated at birth because Riley started doing the shuffling this morning same as Nathan. and I use the clip as well to stop the rolling, works a treat. Riley also opened his first cupboard door yesterday, so safety locks are on today! He also waved, but I think it was accidental.
Seems they've had enough of being bubba's already.
Hi to the newbies-Rhiannon and Lisa
Jessie-welcome to teething hell:D naw it's not that bad, i'm just praying Riley get's them all quickly so they're out of the way, still hasn't got the top two through yet. Hope Emma is feeling better, 3 at once must be painfull for her.
Riley now does naughty things to see how I will react, for instance- standing up in the bath, then when i say 'no, sit down' he laughs and thinks I'm hillarious. It's just so darn cute!
Bye Mummies and Bubbies, have a great relaxing Sunday.
Hi Jes - Will got his first tooth just before Christmas (at 5months). you could see it below the gum from when he was four months, took ages to come through, his second came about 2 weeks later. It took about 4 weeks to become a full tooth. He bite me yesterday for the first time - ouch those teeth are sharp!!
Riley's mum -Will is trying to test the boundaries with me to. If I turn my back for a second he will go staight for power points and he tries to chew them :shame: .....i have no idea why.
:D Hi there!
I'm new to this thread and would love to join if this is okay by you all?
My ds is now 8mths old and a cheeky little thing who doesn't have ANY teeth yet nor is he standing like some of your clever little bubbas. He is however, shuffling along on the floor or should I say wiggling? He loves to "dance", clap hands and is constantly watching the Wiggles... I'm taking him to their concert in Melb on the 25th of this month and can't wait! WE'RE IN THE FRONT ROW :yelclap:
Anyway, hope to hear more from you all and what your lo's are doing...
Welcome Kye and AJ:)
I only found bubhub 3 weeks ago and am addicted. I am sure you will become addicted too, its lots of fun, and nice to chat to other mums.

Kye - excellent about front row tickets! ENJOY
mum2will - Brooke chews everything as well :D
mix - Brooke waved as well ( which I think was accident ) but, I said .. hey she is waving - SHE hasn't since ...though, she LOVES to clap now.
jes - lol about the powder. I love the rain.
Sonia - Nathan will be walking SOON!!!!!!
thats all from me girls. Have a lovely Sunday.
XO
Hi guys!
Thanks to mum2will and Our Angel Is Pink! Great to talk to other mums with bubs the same age!
I've been on this site for a while now (not sure why it says I joined in jan 2006)??? But been bubhubbing for around 6mths now and love it!!! On here every chance I get  Don't get much housework done anymore - as I read on another post A broken computer means a clean house... So true!!!

Gosh - I dont check out this site for a week and I already have hours of reading to catch up on!
Well Taiya now says Mummm. At first I thought it was just a one off but she actually looks at me now and puts her arms up and says mum. It is so cute - it makes me just want to squeezer her. She also says Bub Bubbba and sometimes Bumm (mixture of Ba and Ma) :ecomcity:
I cant believe how much can change in just a couple of days. Taiya is still not crawling but gets around by rollibng sliding and spinning in circles on her tummy!!!
She doesnt have any teeth yet but I am positive they are almost here. She has been better behaved this week and is sleeping thru again - Thankgod :yelclap:
I gave her scrambled eggs tonight - I wont be doing that again in a hurry she made an absolute mess!!!!! What is everyone else eating? Is everyone still on 4 bottles a day? Taiya is starting to slowly drop her 3:00pm feed. she only has half somtimes only a quarter.
She has also gone off her breakfast....I am wondering whether it is because she is full after her milk. Maybe I should give her food first in the morning. What does everyone else do?
Anyway I will try and catch up with my reading over the next week :) Take care mummies and bubbies and P.S. Welcome to the newbies :)
Hi all,
I am new to bub hub but am so glad I joined and especially with all you mums with the same age baby. Mine is Alexis born 24/7/05 so any advice or progress I should be looking forward to would be really helpful.
If anyone can give me any tips on how to better my threads it would be much appreciated (like adding photos etc)
Also great to hear girls stay up as late as myself instead of getting much needed sleep and enjoy the occasional Vodkies :) I am really interested in hearing how the bubs who is going to be staying overnight elsewhere goes as we are just about at that stage also!!
Cheers
Hi all,
just a quick one tonight:ecomcity:
Emma said her first words today:yelclap: and im sooo proud to say it was'mum-mum-mum-mum-mum'i managed to record it on my phone:thumbsup:
SORRY i just had to tell all you ladies!!!

CONGRATULATIONS to all the babies that are starting to say first words....you are all soooo clever.:yelclap:
Welcome to Langers and any other newbies I have missed
Taiyasmum - This is Will's eating routine (not always exact)
7:30 - BF and Breakfast (usually weet-bix or rice cereal)
10:30 - BF
1:30 - Lunch (veges or fruit) and BF
4:30 - BF or snack
7:30 - BF and Dinner (usually blended chicken n veges and fruit for dessert)
- Has 2 - 3 BF's a night
Hope everyone had a lovely weekend
langers - at least I'm not the only insomniac who enjoys a drink or two whilst on here!!! Time out for me I say :D Not that I want to sound like a bad Mum who drinks every night but I do enjoy "me time" with a nice beverage before I turn in for the night every now and then and why not do whilst chatting that on buhub hey? Makes me feel a little "normal" I guess...
As for my gorgeous boy, he has now started saying "what I like to think" is Mum, mum, mum".... I think it's just noises but I'm happy thinking he's saying Mum! SO PROUD!!!!:D
He's in to everything now... Just today I changed his bum and silly me left the cream with the lid just on top (not screwed on tight enough) next to him whilst I put the dirty nappy in his bin... I came back to find him with it open, cream all over him and all over the floor... Whoops  Won't do that again!?!?

What a super cheeky smile your boy has and sounds like he has quick hands but hey they say more and more boys are using facial creams now so maybe he is an early starter!! As for my girl she is so loud with her vocals but still can't make them out
Hi to our newest recruits langers and kyeaj :hugs: (is there a waving icon?? can't see one... so we're hugging instead of waving!!!)
More bumps, more bruises, more 4am starts  , more shuffling along the couch, coffeetable, my leg... basically anything he can grab is a way for Nathan to walk around now. It's amazing. I can believe how everytime I log on here our babies are all doing something new... talking about FAST changes huh?? where have our docile little tiny babies in their 0000 jumpsuits gone???? Hard to believe it sometimes. I almost can't remember being like that, he is just such a bundle of energy now. Do you girls feel like that too?
Hey Langers, to make things more "pretty" you need to go into USER CONTROL PANEL - there you can edit your signature, your Avatar (picture), your title (junior member, etc) and add pretty colours and icons etc.
Our routine has changed a bit since we last wrote about them... food/drink-wise this is what Nathan has...
6am medium bottle (2 scoops)
7.30am farex and fruit or mashed banana and yoghurt, small bottle (1 scoop)
mid-morning - may have 120mL juice
12pm vegies, small bottle (1 scoop)
mid-arvo - may have 120mL juice
4pm medium bottle (2 scoops)
6.30pm meat and vegies, sometimes also fruit as dessert, then either a small bottle (1 scoop) or a juice if he hasn't had one earlier in the day.
His bottles are half-strength to get the fluid into him but not the calories (dr's suggestion) and the juice is the diluted baby juice you can get, very weak. He doesn't drink water so I have to get fluid into him other ways!
Hope this helps.
Have a great day girls, I'm off to pilates!
xoxo Sonia and Nath xoxo

Renee - funny you say that about mumma .. cause I think BROOKE is starting to say it more and real as well .. though, for me its when she is crying. Do you always say to her Mumma!? I have always said to her Mumma and put my arms out ..
Brooke is still having 5 bottles .. THOUGH as of today, I'm gonig to start giving her 4 bottles and 4 hours apart.
She woke up at 7am this morn .. so I'm gonna put her to bed tonight at 7pm! this is a first .. and I only want her to have 2 naps now .. so we'll see how we go today, tonight and tomorrow at this new plan.
Brooke sucked on a triangle of vegemite toast this morning . SHE LOVES veg toast .. she just sucks it and it all withers away in her hands and on the carpet and she eats it all up!
Brooke will eat banana for lunch and cereal for brekkie with apple or pears mashed up .. at night she eats home-made vegies and I grind up cooked steak and she loves that .. I also give her cottage cheese and SHE loves this with grated apple .. I sit there eating the rest :D
gotta fly girls .. CIAO have a lovely day!

Sonia - they learn so quickly its scary.
Brooke stabbed her pinky into the carpet yesterday and she was bleeding .. I didn't see it until blood was all over my knee . she had no clue and then I though OMG .. it would NOT stop bleeding . HOW hard is it trying to get a bandaid on a 7mths old finger . .VERY HARD!
Brooke is so active .. here comes Blood time

Oh i forgot ..
Who else has a cry baby right now ?? sometimes brooke will just whinee whinee whinee , mainly in the afternoon and night..
Also .. who watches Hi-5 everyday ? brooke sits there and claps to it and looks at me to clap with her .. she is SCARED of that pop up animal thing that always comes on with Kelly .. so funny , Brooke frets when that puppet comes on ..
okay, gotta fly - brooke is trying to put her finger in the cd burner.

Thats it!!!! I poked my head in thinking I'd check out what other July mummies had to say and I read something sooooooo obscene I feel compelled to run away and cry.
I am insanely jealous, I remember what sleeping through was like but it was more 7 -6.30, 7ish even at its best...
Don't worry Rhysmum, Will doesn't sleep through yet either.....sleeps probably 5hrs straight at the most if I am lucky.
Brooke's mum - Will doesn't watch high-5 but sometimes we watch a show with 5 dogs that sing songs etc.....forget the name of it......??????
I thought Will was getting his fourth tooth up the top cause he has been really grumpy, and then today one cut through down the bottom instead, so he now has 3 bottom teeth and one (almost two) up the top!!!!!! So looking forward to the end of teething!
Rhys'mum~Im sorryplease dont feel like that:hugs:Emma has LOTS of other things that are very trying! I am VERY blessed to have a good sleeper! im sending sleeping vibes your way!
Mum2will~is it 'raggs'? or somthing like that? Emma loves that show too, i have that stupid song stuck in my head all the time*LOL*
OK just so everyone knows im a normal mum i will put some of Emmas BAD traits down~for the last 3 or so weeks Emma has had 80% diahorrear(sp?)nappies! She has done about 10 projectile(sp?) vomits(one Sonia witnessed)not pretty at all! She has become the most fussey eater and dosent like anything i make for her! She has 3 more teeth coming threw so is very cranky when she is actually awake!
ALRIGHT i hope you all feel much better now, knowing that:fingerscrossed:

Hi everyone!
Well Riley fell backwards off a chair today and busted his lip, then he held his breath untill he passed out again. That's 4 times now, I have made an appointment tommorro with a new G.P who I hope will be more receptive. I want to be referred to a pediatrician, because I think something is wrong........it's so scary I hope no one else in this group has to experiance it.:(
Riley gave me a wicked head butt this afternoon, so I have a fat lip now too.:D
Jess- I'm glad someone in this group is getting a full nights sleep, congrat's on Emma saying mummum.
Sonia-That's great Nathan is shuffling around everywhere, Riley seems to have forgotten he ever did it and hasn't done it since.
Rhiannon- 5 hours is about the best I get too.:D
I'm planning a night out with my OH next weekend and getting his sister to babysitt, just going out for dinner. She is very confidant about looking after him and has hassled us from day one, so I know he will be in good hands, and anyways not like I'll be gone all night, like some of you other lucky ducky's. Now don't get me wrong I love being with my boy, that's why I made the choice to stay at home, but I have'nt had any time to myself since he was born, SO I CAN'T WAIT:smiliedance:
have a good week ladies.

Hi ladies,
I dont post on this thread much but thought I would say hi again and see what all the bubs are up to.
Sounds like they are all doing great. Mixinitup, poor little Riley, goodluck at the pediatrician!
I think Emma and Brooke are just the cutest little girls!! :p
Owen is doing great. He is crawling, saying mamama, dadada and has 5 teeth.
He LOVES swimming and even puts his head under the water (we go to lessons). He is grwoing so fast, I can't believe the babies are 7 months old already!! :ecomcity:
Anyway take care and I will try and post on here more often. I love hearing how all the babies are doing since we all used to talk before they were born!!

Its been a few weeks and I cna't believe how many pages to read!
Sounds like everyones bubbas are doing so great! I also cant believe my bub is already 7 months old!:
I have been very busy as we are moving to Victoria in 4 wks and have to rent out our house here so I have had R/E agents galore here, Have hopefully picked a good tenant though.:fingerscrossed:
Mya is doing great, the teething thing seems to have stopped for the time being, no sign of any teeth, Also she seems to be sleeping really well over night now that she is so active crawling all over the house and pulling herself up on things. She is pretty much in bed by 8pm and wakes between 8-9am. :smiliedance: Which is great as I now am feeling really pregnant and am buggered!
Oh, also we found out 2 weeks ago we are having a boy! Yay definately no more pregs 4 me:smiliedance:

WOW!!! I'm still relatively new to this thread and posted my first just a few days ago and soooo much to read so far! Still trying to get to know all the names and bubs so please bare with me LOL!
Sounds like everyone is doing great and I can't believe how many bubs have teeth... AJ has just turned 8mths and STILL doesn't have any (and no real signs of 'em either).... Guess I'll just have to be more patient.
Someone mentioned something about going out with hubby (sorry can't remember who)... We are going out for the first time since bubby next Friday for an engagment party AND I CAN'T WAIT!!! My mum has watched him a few times (and will be doing so on this particular night) but we've haven't been out ALONE TOGETHER since he was born! I'm gonna miss him but I know he'll be fine (as he's a great sleeper and mum won't hear a peep out of him)... But it's just gonna be so nice to get dressed up and have a good night out!
We love RAGGS too! We've only just discovered it 'cause we're Playhouse Disney fans and are usually tuned in to the Wiggles... But RAGGS is great, just a shame that it's usually starting when AJ is getting tired and due his first sleep.
We've now cut back to two naps of around 2 hours each and it's fantastic - do you know how much housework I can get done now??? LOL!!!
Anyway, enough from me :ecomcity: :ecomcity: :ecomcity: ... Hope to get to know you all better and best to you and all your bubbas!

Correction, you know how much Dr Phil, Oprah, mummy naps, bubhub time etc you can have now!! screw housework!!! ;)
nothing new to report, going to see CHNurse this arvo - I am after some reassurance that Nath isn't a porker and doing OK. Every day he hits his head and now how three bruises across his forehead... but what can I do??? :banghead:
lisa, i'll pm you with directions for next thursday's picnic. Any other July Brissy mums want to join us at New Farm park?

Guess what...... we're still alive, lol!
Sorry I haven't been here for a while - I keep getting sidetracked .
Glad to hear all the bubbas are doing so well. So many new faces I'm struggling to keep up. Oscar doesn't have any teeth, nor any sign of teeth. He's not crawling or rolling or moving around at all. He sits up and plays and that's about it. He's a reasonable sleeper. Some nights he sleeps through from 6 or 7 until 6 or 7, but a lot of the time he still wake up once, sometimes twice. I'm finding it really easy to go back to sleep though so it doesn't bother me. I just feed him and go back to bed. He loves his solids now and I struggle to get much milk into him, which is why I give him a bottle overnight if he wakes, at least he is then getting some milk! Oscar has swimming lessons on Fridays and he loves it. He's doing really well and has been putting his head under water from day one!
I'm at Uni now, 2 half days a week, so I'm learning to juggle study and bubba time at the moment.
Poor little man was very, very sick last week with a virus. He had a fever of 40oC with the shivers. He was just limp and lifeless, it was soooo scary. Nothing would bring his fever down, not even a tepid bath. He's over the worst of it now, but it's made him very clingy with me, which is okay cause I'm soaking up the extra cuddles, lol.
Well, sorry I've been so slack recently. Sad to say I probably will continue to be slack until Mr. Shakespeare releases his hold on me this semester, lol.
Take care everyone :hugs:

OK OK so you don't have a perfect babe either - but man you've got some good sleep vibes - knock me over with a feather I have a winge and then my little man slept to 6:15 the next morning. (Last night wasn't so flash but I no be complainin.)
Have had a busy couple of days & little man is teething so no time for bubhubbing but wld like to pop into this forum when I get the chance...
As you may have seen from other threads I am a bit opinionated, oh and a bit pushy too but I do love hearing how other people are doing and what's worked or hasn't for them... oh and as you might also have guessed we've had some sleep issues...
Right-o chicks, health nurse update...
My son is NOT an overweight boofa as I was being told by all and sundry who see him or see a photo of him (not you darling bubhub july mummies, of course)... ok well maybe that's a slight exaggeration... basically all the comments I was getting about Nathan (other than "isn't he cute? isn't he adorable?) were things like "gee he's a big boy", "what a solid boy", "you can tell he likes his food" etc etc... got me paranoid that I was overfeeding him and turning him into a PORKER!!
Anyhoo, the CHN weighed him and he has actually LOST weight... almost the same weight that he was at his 6 month check... so! I don't have to feel guilty about what i'm feeding him! She said as he is so active that he will eat more and more so not to worry. PHEW!
Our new stats...
Length - 71cm, Head Circumference - 45.5cm, Weight... 8.6kg. :smiliedance: Happy days. I can stop stressing now!!

LOL, exactly!!! I try and run around and tidy up first and then it's ME time... Whether that be Dr Phil, Oprah, Bubhub, etc. But tha's usually just at the time he decides to wake - Murphy's Law!
Today I even bought a book and went outside to sit in the sun and read, but you guessed it... 15 minutes later and he was up! Should have gone and read when I put him down instead of hanging out washing, mopping floors, etc first!!!!

Biggest loser rocks, how about monday nights episode???? Talk about crazy!!
All good here, I am feeling run-down at the moment, working too hard and a bit fluey I think, but we'll get there! Nathan had a shocking night last night... to bed at 9.15pm, awake then at 11pm, 1am, 2am, 4am and 5am. by 5.45am I cracked and brought him into bed with us, and he I and finally slept at 6.15am... poor daddy had a rough night though and was off to work by 6.45am...
soooooo tired... what is with him not sleeping??? he's fully screaming and standing up in his cot when he wakes up!! so i can't ignore him...

hey everyone...
well went to pediatrician and basically Riley's sensitive to pain, recommended blowing in his face so i will try that next time. So hopefully he's like Brooke and snaps out of it.
I had three days of sleep bliss:yelclap: slept right through till 7:30 which he hasn't done since he was 5 months. but he's up again with his toothy's they are still slowly coming through.
Guess what?........Riley saidMUMMAand he saidNO!![/COLOR]all today, i couldn't be more proud.
Has anyone else started buying winter clothes for they're bubba's yet? I've got a heap already, I bought size 1 coz I figure my little chubba's will out grow 0's too quickly. He weighs 9 kilo's now and his grandparents couldn't be more proud. I'm not too worried about his weight as his couzin was 14 kilo's at 10 months, but since he started walking has thinned out and lost weight and is 12nhalf at 13 months.
Jessie-congrats on the new tooth:smiliedance:and i have to agree that pic of Emma is beautiful
Deanna-welcome....I love your son's name, very cute. My boy slept 15 minutes today and was up every 2 hours or so last night so I can totally relate, usually 5:00 is sleeping in for him.
Larissa- so sorry to hear of Oscar's virus, sounds scary, I hope he's all better now.:fingerscrossed:
Kye- you are so right about just when you get comfortable after all the missions they wake up! I still can't help myself and do cleaning/washing/cooking when i really should be bubhubbing:D
Sonia-so sorry you had mean people make fatty comments bout Nathan, some people are so insensitive. As long as your happy and Nathan's healthy who cares what people say. I hope he's sleeping better for you. Is he still shuffling along everywhere? Riley's started back at it, so cute to see them try like a wind up teddy bear.
Well i think i got everyone....if not sorry had allott of catching up to do.
have a great week ladies.

Hi Ladies,
Just popping in to say Hi. :)
All the avatars are great. It is so nice to see the babies. :)
Owen had his CHN appointment today. He weighs 8.6kgs and is 71 cms long!! Right on track but gee I can't believe how quick he is growing.
I walked into his room this morning and he was standing up holding on to the side! He is eating rockmelons, figs, plenty of fish and chicken. He LOVES his food.
How many bottles/feeds are all the babies having per day? Owen is on 3 solid feeds p/day and 3 bottles. Plus plenty of water. :)
Anyway better be off, have a good one.

Simone - hiYA. Brooke is having 4 bottles now every 4 hours. She drinks 200 mls each time and 3 mini meals and bread stick in-between or apple. We gave her some kipper fillets today just tiny bits off hubbies toast * I KNOW * kipper fillets and toast *ICK* though she loves it ..
She is sound asleep, I'm waiting for hubbie to get home from work. 3 hours to go :o

Hi girls,
Hope everyone is having a lovely week. Will has started saying daddaddaddad (his first words). Yay:smiliedance:
Lisa you are right the show is Raggs - I love when the cat interviews different children and asks them a meaning of a word - it is sooo cute what they come out with.
I think Will is going to get yet another tooth soon - he is off his food a bit, dribbling and his cheeks are a bit red. I hope he gets a rest from it soon - poor little thing.

IN-laws stayed with us this weekend and we went to Chinese last night and brooke entertained the whole restaurant  nice food .
Back to eating LOW fat food tomorrow .. I've nearly polished off a bag of peanut M&M's today that MIL left here  after I had the left over chinese ..
Brooke is napping and DH is doing something exciting ..I gotta run. talk again soon.
XO
Wow time flies!!!! My little man is now 8months.....and becoming more and more independant. He won't drink water out of a bottle anymore, just wants to drink out of mummy's cup so I am going to start teaching him how to drink from a cup. Will loves his food at the moment - mashed potato n pumpkin with cheese mixed through would probably be his favourite I think. He also tried Rockmelon and sultanas for the first time last week - absolutely loved sucking on the rockmelon!
He loves pulling himself up on all the furniture, and has had a few falls, but nothing serious yet. Still hates getting his nappy changed and getting dressed, but I am hoping he will grow out of that soon....
Hope all the mummas and bubbas are having a great week.
Hi all,
Lisa~our weekend was quiet! It was nice though! Dont you luv how people react to your baby when your out*LOL* i think they get all 'clucky'! Emma has started to talk to everyother kid she can find, she is my social butterfly!*LOL*
Mum2Will~I wish Emma would eat well!!! She wont open her mouth:banghead: i have to trick her into it or i just push the spoon in with the food on it and most of it ends up on her bib!!! Does Will mind eating lumps???
Emma has a really bad 'gag reflex' so even though she has 2 teeth she wont eat lumps! I have tried giving her soft bikkies, she screws up her face like im feeding her concrete!*LOL* She will eat a sandwich or toast with vegimite, witout chocking. Does anyone else have a baby who seems to be sensitive to texture?
Emma started saying 'dad dad dad and up up' yesterday!:smiliedance: we have been trying for ages to get her to say dad! So now she has quiet a list of words:mum, bub, dad & up! Im so proud!
ooh well i better go

Hi Mummies and Babies,
I havnt posted for a while - I have been so busy with work.
Well I have had an awful weekend. I woke up on Sat morning to find Taiya covered from head to toe in vomit and pooh. It was fowl - I was gagging while cleaning it up. The vomitting and diorreah continued all weekend. She wouldnt eat or drink anything and yesterday ended up in emergency for dehydration. She told me she had Gastroenteritis. Poor little bubby. Anyway today her poos appear to be more solid and she has started to show an interest in her food and fluids again so fingers crossed :fingerscrossed: OH I also forgot to mention that I also caught it on Sunday so I was severly ill all weekend while trying to look after her...........almost impossible.
Anyway It has been good catching up on all the posts - Everyone seems to be growing so fast. They are no longer little babies but little people with personalities.
Jes - Taiya also started saiygin Dada the other day. She now says: mum dada bub. Not quite as clever as Emma :ecomcity:
Taiya is now commando crawling everywhere. She had given up on the crawling thing as she preferred to try and walk. She would walk all over the place (holding onto my hands) if I let her. It is so tiring. I cant remember now when she used to just eat and sleep. She is so active now.
Anyway I hope everyone is well.

so cute about Emma jess talking.
brooke will say Mummumum and mummy ( she said that last friday night when Mum was up, my mum ) :D she says daddaddad sometimes .. and lots of jibberish that i cannot UNDERSTAND! :ecomcity:
shes asleep right now so having some meeeee time ;)
I can't believe she is nearly 8 mths !! time is flyinggggggggggggggg girls!
Whats your bubs favourite meal right now?
I made broccoli, potato and pumpkin and a bit of butter and mashed it all up tnoight and spread it on a piece of wholemeal bread ..then I cut the crusts off and cut it all up to smartie size pieces and brooke loved it.. I have to finger feed her though she won't eat off a spoon anymore unless its rice cereal or banana ..
so its a good trick girls to get them to eat vegies .. :chef:

Hello all---- Well my darling daughter is such a monkey now! She crawls every where- loves to pull her self up and cruise around every thing! She also figured out how to wedge her foot in the reclining sofa chair to "climb" up it- unfortunately she has not learnt that she is not strong enough to do this- so it normally ends in tears!!! But evemtually she will get it- or figure out how to pull herself up:devil6:
Had her weighed yesterday and she is...8kgs!!!!!!! Finally- she is still a tall girl but just a skinny minny!!! (if she's like me that will only last til puberty!!!)
Imy also had the:barf: bug last week- got it from day care- it seems to pass pretty quickly though! Although she gave it to grandpa- so he was off to hospital with it- poor old fella!
Hope everyone is doing really well- and one of these days i will take the time to sit and read throuhg all the posts!!

Hi Everyone!:)
I'm new to this and since DS and I fit with you all and you seem so nice to each other I thought I would send a hello
To bring you up to speed: DS is 8.5 months old (09.07.2005) and 9.8kg (yes, yes a "big" boy!)
After a hell first 6 months we have finally realized that we are in the real world and are finally getting out!
Brock has 6 teeth (all arrived within 2 weeks) and is crawling and "cruising" the furniture (not long now! HOW SCARY!)
Anyway wondering if anyone is having problems with "chunky" food. DS will eat our food ok (should have seen him power through dad's lasagne the other night!) but will not eat "baby" food with chunks.
Any suggestions?
Anyway just thought I would introduce ourselves.
Cheers

:) Hi!
My name is Mel and i was just searching on the net looking for information on holding a naming day and i came across this website. It looks very interesting so i thought that i might join in. I have never been on one of these before so its all pretty new to me. :banghead:
I have one little boy who was born on 7th July, 2005. His name is Jacob and im a proud mummy!(just like everybody else!) You dont realise how much your life is going to change beforehand, however you wouldnt wish it any other way would you.
My little man at the moment is zooming around the house on all fours and just doesnt stop. He eats anything that you put in his mouth, but one favourite at the moment is feeding himself banana. They are such little characters!
Hope to get to know you all soon.
Mel

Hi justoneplease
Im just new at this so hopefully this will post correctly. My little boy was born on the 7th July so only a couple of days before your little man.
Jacob weighs 10kg but is going to be a tall boy(from his fathers side), and at the moment he only has two teeth which came thru 2 weeks apart at christmas and thats all, nothing since.
Jake still eats all his cereal and most of his vegies at dinner(he is not fussy) however im finding he does prefer finger food so he can do it himself. He is also not so keen on the bottle anymore and prefers to drink his juice from a popper and milk from a cup and straw. I like to give jake sandwiches, chunky fruit etc for his lunch so he can feed himself.
Nice to meet you
Mel:yelclap:

welcome newbies :D
Well .. Brooke likes finger food as well! She swallows really good now .. I can put a tiny cube of cheese in her mouth and she chews it right up  though its only happened over the past week!!!
She is starting to just "now" feed herself .. I cut up vegemite toast into tiny pieces for breakfast and sit there and feed her apples and rice cereal and leave the toast all over her tray and she picks them up so gently and puts it into her MOUTH!! she has "only" just started this . so at the moment I'm encouraging her with lots of "good girls" :D
nice to meet you girls. welcome aboard. anybody from Brisbane?
jacobsmummy
22-03-2006, 21:36
Thanks
It's nice to have someone to chat to with other children the same age.
Once they start feeding themselves there is no stopping them! We started giving jake toast from 6.5 mths as we cannot eat in front of him cause he would get upset if we were eating and he wasnt! We found it easier to give him something to eat that he could do himself so that we could enjoy our dinner!
Good night
Welcome to the newbies.......
Justoneplease - sorry to hear that you had a bad first 6 months - it is great to hear that you can get out and about now.
Will has trouble eating some baby food. At the moment he is interested in my food so last night he ate roast lamb, chicken, cauliflower, beans potato and pumkin...he got grumpy when I tried spoon feeding him pumpkin I mashed (and I had guests over) so I just gave him a 1/2 baked potato and he sat there quietly and chewed it.
Lisa - Good luck trying the sultanas, Will seemed to like the taste but did gag on them a little bit, so I am going to wait and try them again a bit later. Mashed veges on a sandwich sounds like a good idea - i put grated cheese in my mashed veges and Will loves it...but then again I have no problem getting him to eat savoury foods, its the desserts that he isn't really interested in. (I tried Chocolate Baby Custard 2 weeks ago and has no interest in it...how can you not like Chocolate?????)
Well after 8 months of my Eat - Wake - Sleep routine not working for me I have finally changed it...and it's great. Will now has an hours rest in the morning and 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 hrs in the afternoon.

Rhi - I never did the eat, wake, sleep routine ever .. Brooke needs a nap every 3 hours though , shes just dictated and its worked out really good .. Brooke is not a fan on any jar food. She will though have a taste of my freddo and try rip it out of my hand if I don't give her another taste :D so I guess she loves chocolate .. okay, I will try the sultanans a bit later then ..
another weekend allready .. my hubbie has a short week next week and then his on holidays for 10 days .. UM me thinking *daddy daycare* here we come ;)

Hi Everyone
Been an interesting week. Had the boy weighed yesterday and he is 10.3kg - no small gains in this house.
Thank you for all your help with the food thing. I am trying to feed the boy small versions of our meals (Spag Bol for dinner tonight!) but there are some times when this just isn't possible... I think I need to relax on what he has for dinner (it doesn't have to be vege's every night) which would make those other nights less of a fight!
I notice a lot of us are in Bris - Where are we all from? Any suggestions on places to see/go before the angels are walking?
Home for us is the Southside (near Sunnybank Hills).. would love to hear if anyone is closeby.
Have a great week all......

jtp - YEP!! Once I got over that "they have to east mushy vegies daily" Brooke has been great with her food .. real food!
I actually give her baked pototo and pumpkin and she will eat that easy as finger foods , I cook it in olive oil and she lovessss it .. she just won't eat it all mushed up, though cut up easy peasy!
She had last night Chicken Schnitzel and baked vegies and baked beans on the sdie .. very minature size .. SO CUTE! she ate it ALL! just over 1/2 cups worth and then her bottle after it, she STILL loves her bottles.
Shes tried egg now .. as I dipped the chicken into the egg first and the crumbs .. no allergies at all ..
Shes having another tuna mornay tongiht ( I froze one ) and I'm gonna add smoe peas to the side.
I'm just down the road from Sunnybank! :D do you go to any playgroups? Camira I live at .. so down the Ipwich road to sunnybank.
have a great day girls.
Hope all mummas n bubbas have had a good week and have a great weekend...
Will finally cut his 6th tooth this week (now have 3 top teeth - 3 bottom teeth):smiliedance:
Lisa - Will eats roast pumpkin n potato as well. DH and I were out for lunch last week and Will was being slightly grumpy so I let him have a hot Chippy (something I told myself pre-baby days that I wouldn't do) - he absolutely loved it - kept him quiet for the rest of the lunch.
Will slept 6hrs staright last night - we are slowly getting there - :fingerscrossed: in the next few months he will start sleeping the whole night through.
justoneplease - sorry I am not from Brissy - from Adelaide - was a QLD girl until 3 months ago when we moved to S.A.

I just hope she does not get sick.
where is jes and emma? where is everybody else ..
gotta fly girls.
Hi all,
we are still here:thumbsup: just been busy. How is everyone doing???
Lisa~i have the same thing:thumbsdown: but inside my mouth is sore too? hows Brooke going with her teeth, any sucess yet? She looks good with curls*LOL*
Sonia~Glad to see your doing ok, shame about getting sick:barf: its the last thing you and garth need!!! POOR Nathan!!! Tell him Emma sends BIG sloppy kisses and cuddles!!! I love the new pic! sooo cute!
Well Emma is doing gr8! She is trying to walk now, with mummy and daddys help of corse!!! she is crawling around and climing everything she can find that is taller than her! which is everything, including mummys legs*LOL*
Were still swiming every week which is going really well! Emma luvs the water so much!
take care
hey jes which pic do you want as your avatar? the fairy or the blue one? i'll do it tuesday for you.
nath still sick, poor little might, cough is foul... will give it a couple of more days and once antibiotics are done i'll take him back to dr.
i am no fun to be around, such bad company at the moment as I cope with the frustration of having to have people do stuff for me and not being able to just jump up and do something when I want to!! Augh!!!!! :banghead: Bloody leg!! Oh well better now than later.
Nathan update (despite sickness)... not walking by himself yet but trying to stand unaided - he gets overly confident sometimes though and lets go and then shocks himself that he is standing by himself and BAM! butt hits the floor!!Where's a puppy with a roll of Kleenex Cottonelle toilet paper when you need one... He is waving now (very cool) and trying to imitate anything you do. A little kid put his arms up and down in the air and so nath copied him! :smiliedance: If you stick your tongue out he does the same. :p If you make the sounds that he can (like ba-ba, blah-blah, ga-ga, va-va :ecomcity: ) then he makes them back at you. No words yet though, still just lots of babbling. I don't mind I'm so proud of him! And he loves peekaboo games and slapping games - you slap the table, and he slaps the table. If I hold my hand out and hit it, he then hits my hand. Its soooo cool!
Anyway, that's all from us. Glad all is well with you guys.

hey to everyone.......
finally i'm getting a decent nights sleep :smiliedance: All 4 teeth are full through so Riley is back to waking up once a night and I'm more than happy to get up and give him a bottle and he goes straight back to slumber land.
Riley's worked out how to click his tounge today......no new words yet, though we think he's trying to say 'duke' (that's our dog) hehe.
On the food subject.......what kind of finger foods are mum's feeding there bub's? and when is the right time to give them a spoon to try? Riley is starting to want to do everything himself so just wondering........he makes a ton of mess, I tried him with a spoon the other day but he turned it around and tried to use it that way,LOL.
Lisa-so cute that Brooke's giving kisses, hope her toothy's aren't hurting too much. Hope your feeling betta.
Sonia-hope Nathan's feeling betta...and your leg;) Sounds like being sick hasn't slowed Nathan down at all, your new avatar is adorable by the way. He's such a cool dude with the hand slapping thang.
Jess-hope your feeling betta too! Fantastic Emma's trying to walk already, I try to get Riley to walk with my help and he just falls to his knees and crawls ova to me...guess he figures why walk when he can crawl:o
Is anyone else still giving night feeds? I've cut back to three bottles a day now and one at night as Riley was going off his water and now his teeth are through he's eating well again, so i figured he didn't really need 4 a day and it hasn't bothered him at all.
So where is everyone anyways? come on you slackers:D post away........
Hi all,
Lisa~ how exciting about Brookes tooth!! You have inspired me to teach Emma how to give kisses!*LOL* How was the coast??
Sonia~when you find that puppy send him to my house too!LOL* He is such a clever little man, he will be walking around so soon! Any teeth??? Angel please. xox
Mix~congrats....4 teeth! Emma has started clicking her tounge too, she does it when she is holding your hands walking around*LOL* sooo cute. We give Emma vegimite toast, teddy bear biscuits and some pear and banana as finger food. We find she doesnt actually eat it she just bites a bit off and chews it a couple of times then spits it out? she still thinks she is guna choak:thumbsdown: We give her a spoon sometimes BUT its just for fun. Emma still has 4 bottles a day.(i think i got all your Q's) :ecomcity:
Emma has started chucking a tantrum!! kicking legs and squealing when she doesnt get her way:devil6: I think im going to have a very STRONG WILLED young lady on my hands!!! Anyone else???
With the sleeping thing, em goes to bed at 7ish then wakes up at 9-10pm and wants to party:banghead: i think she has another tooth coming threw? thats what happend last time she started waking up again!
Dont you just love em'
Take care
Hi to all the mummas n bubbas.....hope everyone is doing well.
Well I think Will is teething yet again...if I am right this will be his 7th tooth. He gets really grumpy when he teeths...Panadol, Bonjella and Teething Relief don't seem to do anything so this time I am going to try Infant Nurofen :fingerscrossed: it will help.
Fingerfoods Will has are - Milkarrowroot biscuits, banana, roast potato or pumpkin, toast...thinking about trying cheesesticks and watermelon next week, (maybe cheerios with the red skin stuff) peeled off for something new.
Is anyone still having trouble when it comes to changing nappies/clothes???? Will is still wriggling around, tries crawling of change table and cries...as soon as I have finished all smiles again.
Well I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.:D

hi girls.
mix - Brooke is formula fed. So no more night feeds anymore. though if she wakes at like 2am and wants to party ( like emma ) :smiliedance: I then give her a bottle and puts her back to sleep. She is in bed with us still though .. so she hasn't woken up at 2am for ages. She goes to bed around 8-10pm and sleeps until 7am .. though, I'm RIGHT there to flip her back over when she does stir in the middle of the night and tries to stand up in bed  I give her cuddles and we all back to sleep .. phew I say!!
finger foods .. well, I just give brooke the same old boring lunch, so glad somebody mentioned this ..
I give brooke rice ceral and apple or pear for breakfast and vegemite toast all cut up and she even tries to feed herself!! lunch is always, ham , grated cheese, grated apple, banana pieces or cottage on wholemeal bread all cut up into tiny pieces with the cottage cheese spread over it all 1st .. I also let Brooke suck on the wholemeal crusts .. that way she doesn't want to look at DORA on the dam spoon the whole time *rolleyes* I've also started giving her chicken and diced fruit salad .. thats the same everyday though.
dinner is vegies ( baked ) with steak or fish ( if we have fish and chipsthat night ) or some of my chicken and rice .. or tuna mornay - i make it up .. or just a mini whatever we are having ..
Rhi - BROOKE is mental getting nappy changed and dressed !!!!!!!!! I end up sitting on the floor just to hold her down to get clothes on .. I manage with the nappy though clothes .. NOPE! I have a very spirited child here :D like Emma ..
Any other bubs LOVE bonjella .. Brooke will eat this out of the tube if I let her !! no joke.
jes - we had a good time up the coast .. it was HOT though and freezing back here .. hate this weather! I'm better now though Davids got a sore throat .. exceelnt about emma walking SO CUTE.
Hi to sonia-Nathan and everybody else .. coming out from hiding girls.
Brookes latest thing is when she is crusing the lounge and WE are in the way .. she climbs over by cocking her leg over and now decided to sit and have a horsey ride .. now everytime she goes over our legs she bops for a ride and laughs .. so CUTE!
I gotta fly because I just wrote a BOOK! ;)

where is everybody?
hey girls .. guess what .. as of today I've put Brooke on a new diet .. no MORE CHEESE .. she POO's all day longgggggggg if I give her that .. Mum said NO-MORE as well .. no more ham either for a while .. back to more bottles and just little bits of food .. she was a pooing machine .. today she has gone twice and normal .. so I think I was overdoing it. SILLY NURSE telling me give her this and that .. grrr.
I'm just gonna go back and give her banana and some apple for lunch and she had a milkarrow today and LOVED it .. just some vegies for dinner and rice cereal for brekkie .. Mum said once she starts throwing the bottle on the floor then introduce solids again more as she will be ready really then for real food ..
anybody else annoyed with there CHN ?
just saying hi and had to add that update!

I posted a while back...but haven't been back since...so I'll re-introduce myself and DD.
I'm Stacey - 20 - and my little girl is Chanel - born July 25 via (unwanted) c-section. :)
Chanel's a bit of a fatty but she's really slowing down in her weight gain since she's begun to crawl and stand up. She's now a size 0-1...sort of in-between...depending on brands really. She's about 11kg at the moment - which is good considering the dr said that if she gets any bigger than 12kg before her 1st b-day we'll have to put her on a diet.
I don't see why though - it's not like her eating is making her fat - she just started off much bigger than other bubs (4670grams). Stupid doctor.
She's begun to cruise - only recently though. She's really slow in doing it - but she's doing it all the same.
She's also only got 2 teeth. I would have expected more by now - she got the first 2 when she was 4.5 months...so I figured she's just get all of her teeth early. Obviously not...
Hello, it's cripple lady here...
Sorry I haven't been on much, where on earth is time going?? It's easter already OMG!!!!!!
Nathan finally has teeth! :smiliedance: THREE all on the top and all came at the same time. He is still full-on cruising and trying to stand by himself. He does laps around the lounge room, so funny!
Finger Food... vegemite toast, pieces of bread, chunks of watermelon and rockmelon etc, rusks, wheat biscuits or milk arrowroots, that kind of thing. Anything that is kind of biggish and solid for him to hold and chew/suck on. We give him the spoon towards the end of the meal for him to suck on and swing around, but he does the reverse-thing too! It's soooo cute!
He is making the sounds for dadada and mumumum (dada when he is happy, mumum when he is grizzling and whinging... bloody typical!) but not saying them specifically to me or DH yet. At least the sounds are on the way though!
DH got conjunctivitis from Nathan, so I have had two sick boys and me with my leg in a brace! We have been a fun family, that's for sure!
For easter we are going up to the in-laws at the Sunshine Coast for three days, then taking my folks to a winery for my dad's b'day on Easter Monday. Should be nice. And my mum is taking me to see Fiddler on the Rood this arvo so I have a day out! yay!
Oh! I had the fright of my life on Tuesday night... Nathan was having a sleepover at my folks place (giving DH a break from doing all the baby care - I am still on crutches and fairly immobile) thank god he wasn't home... 4am I woke up to the sound of footsteps in our house. I shook DH and we both lay there petrified for ages listening to rustling and footsteps. It sounded like someone creeping around and looking for something. We were s@#t scared. Anyway after about 10 min I couldn't hack it, so DH grabbed his phone and I hid under the doona and called the police. They came around, us still lying in bed too petrified to move or turn on a light incase we scared the intruders and they did something to us... anyway, police banged on the door, DH ran out to them, only to be told that there was a huuuuuge possum sitting on our roof and that is what we had heard. It hadn't been scurrying like typical possums, but slow deliberate steps, and really heavy, coming from the house and the ceiling! Bloody possum!! Needless to say after a thorough check of the house we STILL couldn't sleep because we were too wired... and DH had trouble sleeping last night too poor thing! Can't believe I was that bothered by a possum!
Anyway girls, have a great easter and I"ll catch up next week.
xoxo Sonia
Hey sonia~ LMAO! sorry but that is the funniest thing ever!! I would have been jabbing chris saying 'get out there and have a look'!! Its sooo scary when somthn like that happens! Congrats Nathan! 3 teeth all at once.:yelclap: have a gr8 easter and we will try to pop over after you guys are back!
Lisa~Emma is not too good on cheese either! it must be a relief to go back to 2 nappies!!*LOL* Have fun up the coast! We were supposed to be going away BUT our jetski blew up and its going to be $5990 to get fixed! So there goes our social life for a few months!!!!!
Hi Stacey and Alison:hugs: welcome!
Well Emma is still trying to walk! she will let go and stand by herself for 2 seconds*LOL then fall on her BUTT!! Poor dear got her first bruse(SP?)on her head today! Now daddy is gunna think im beating her up!!!*LOL*

Hi girls.
SONIA - that is SO funny !!!! :D scary at the time .. so glad it wasnt' serious .. how is your knee?
Jess - SO glad the nappies have slowed down :D so cute about Emma .. Brooke is doing a nathan and doing a circuit of the lounge room .. crawling, standing and then dropping on bum and then crawling, standing and cruising etc .
GUESS what .. STILL no teethhhhhhhhh here!!!! they just won't cut . I don't think I'll ever see teeth ;) thats excellent about Nathan and teeth!!!
Welcome Allison and Stacey as well :smiliedance:
Happy Easter girls .. have a safe weekend!
Hello mummies... hello are you there??? Think you've all left the building!! :crying: Come back! Nathan misses his online playmates!!
Well we had a good easter. Indulged far too much, diet starts TOMORROW!!
Possum has still been keeping us awake, so DH has been up in the roof hammering and being all macho and *hopefully* our animal friend can't get back in tonight and we may all sleep peacefully!
Knee is going OK, leg hasn't dropped off yet although the prospect of another four weeks on these crutches is doing my head in... get soooo sick of sitting in the same position all the time! Any suggestions? Take up headstands perhaps??
Nathan was spoiled over easter. He played in a pile of celophane and LOVED it, all the crinkling and the slipperiness (is that a word??) of it. Also played on the sand for the first time. He tried to eat it once then decided it wasn't good eating so satisfied himself with picking up handfuls of it and watching it disappear between his fingers. Soooo cute! And he loved power-crawling through it!
Teeth are still cutting, they are like little razors on your finger (or arm, or leg, or face, whatever he decides to pash!) Poor little guy, he has been great through it though, hardly complains. What an angel my bubba is!
Hope all of you are well, the bubs are doing great and you all survived your decadent chocolate-riddled long-weekend!

Hey girls,
Yeah, we're still alive ;). Oz is a little chubba now, over 11kg and into size 1 clothes. He started teething 2 weeks ago (finally!). He has one bottom tooth that has broken the skin and sticks up about 3mm and hasn't moved since it cut through. His two top teeth are sitting just under the gum at the moment, ready to break through any time, I'm pretty sure.
He's still just lazing around enjoying being a baby. He doesn't crawl, doesn't walk around furniture, doesn't even roll really (he's done it a couple of times). At least he doesn't kick up a stink about being on his tummy as quickly as he used to though. He sits up very strongly and has great hand /eye coordination and is very alert so I'm not too worried about his lack of mobility. He'll get there eventually, when he's ready.
I'm so sick of people making reference to 'what a big boy he is'. Yeah, he's the same size as your average 1 year old, so what. He's happy, healthy, social, and totally adorable - who cares if he's bigger than your average bubbabear. People keep telling me not to worry about it, when they're the ones with the issue, not me. I couldn't care less - I think he's perfect  Sorry, that's my rant
He loves his food (obviously, lol) and is great with eating his vegies. He also loves anything that he can grab hold of himself and jam into his mouth. Arrowroot biccies are a fave - he usually gets a bottle of milk and a biccie for morning tea.
Well, that's about it. Everything is cruising along pretty normally here. Hope you all enjoyed your Easter break. I think I ate enough chocolate to see me through until next Easter.....

Sounds like a great easter Sonia and Riss.
We had a busy 2 days!!! Brooke played ALL day Sunday and fell asleep at 6pm and woke up at 6am  TIRED girl.
Drove home yesterday afternoon and the traffic WAS SO BAD! icky .. I'm all dressed right now and waiting for her to wake from her 1sp nap .. need to pay bills
Way too much choc here as well .. still heaps in the fridge. I gave brooke some egg and she loved it :D
We have my brothers wedding this Saturday so we are getting ready for that this week.
I'm taking Brooke to playgroup next week near us .. the Australian Playgroup Asso. . should be fun , she LOVES playing.
Brooke STOOD up on her own this weekend and now she is trying to do it all the time .. she walks along everyting with one hand holding her and the other hand is carrying "something" her cabbage patch by the hair or anything she can drag along the floor.
I gotta go girls, talk soon XO XO
Yeah LIsa, bruce hwy from coast was a carpark on monday... foul traffic!! Glad you had a good easter.
Riss, good to hear from you. Nathan is 2kg less than Ozzy and everyone calls him a huge boy!! I think that unless a baby is the size of a tiny doll then everyone will always say how big they are. I think it is part of society to think along the lines that "big" is the same as saying something is healthy. If he were a skinny runt they would comment on that too.
Remember being pregnant? One person would look at me say "oh my god you're huge", then five min later someone else would say "hmm, you're not very big". Who understands anyone?!? Nobody has any idea. So you're dead right, don't take it to heart, Ozzy doesn't care what anyone else thinks!! And how is Uni going? And how's Manxie? Is she in the UK?
Take it easy chickadees.
xoxo Sonia and Nath (and no possum, I'm pleased to report!)

Hellllloooo all,
I am so glad everyone is going well- I am so bad- i pop in to check up on everyone but never post:shame: lazy bum!!
Well our easter was ok- Imy was crook so that always put a downer on things. She had a throat infection- but while they were investigating that they discovered that her heart is going to fast for her age! So we have been in and out of the dr's and now have a weeks wait til we go again for a checkup! Bit scary at the time but the dr has assured me she doesn't think it is anything terrible... so i am trusting her.
Imy is standing on her own also- she discovered she could do this early last week. So we now have a few bumps to prove she's been practicing.
For easter she got a little people zoo set- she just loves little people, she carries them everywhere. Do any of the bubba's have favourite toys...

hi girls.
I hope Imogen is okay now ((hugs)) little people are SO cute.
that dam Possum Sonia ;) lol
not much to add .. just here quickly, ran out of time. Brooke is sleeping in her cot and Hubbie is asleep on the lounge as he starts work at 11.30 .. and I need to peee
gotta go. take care, talk soon.
hey chicks
shannan how scary about imy's heartrate... what do they think it could be? I hope all is ok :hugs:
Fave toys... we have a few here... Nath loves the strangest things...
* His hairbrush! He found it the other day and now carries it around with him. Very cute!
* His lion (little plush one from Pumpkin Patch) - sleeps with him every night and plays with him in the cot, holding him up in the air and then hugging him.
* His xylopiano - it is a xylophone/piano all-in-one jobby that I bought him as he loves hitting things. It's great. Was dirt cheap and provides him with hours of noise-making fun.
* Peek-a-blocks. Have you girls got any? We were given a heap as a xmas pressie for Nath and now he really loves them. We have the shape-sorter box and he can spend ages just putting blocks in and out of it. I also bought him the dump truck (uses same blocks) and he pushes it around the loungeroom and puts blocks in and out of it too. It's awesome.
Basically Nathan loves anything that he can get hold of! And mummy is a sucker for toys that can do lots of things... I'll have to check out the Little People, Shan!
Nothing new to report, still have won lotto or anything exciting like that.
Take it easy girls.

Hi all,
No big news here either, other than it'd bl**dy cold, lol.
Oscar loves his hair brush too. I swear those boys have some sort of cosmic connection :p
He's getting a little more mobile now. Flips over onto his tummy and wriggles around backwards until he bumps into something and can't go any further.
He's sleeping so much at the moment. How much are the other bubbas sleeping? Oscar sleeps for about 12 hours overnight, usually waking once for a feed, and then during the day he has 3 or 4 sleeps, usually totalling around 4 or 5 hours. Is this normal?????
Shannan - let us know how you go with Imy. Oscar is sending her big snuggles.

hey girls,
2 sleeps until my brothers wedding. My clothes are organised, David still has to try his god dam pants on > MEN ! oh and find his SHOES
Larissa - Brooke is not sleeping that well lately, she seems to be waking up heaps .. shes in with me though this week while hubbie does midnight shift and I just pop her back down as she tries to stand up in the bed  soon as she wakes.
I think she is just going through a growth spurt again. She is very easy to put back to sleep again though. Shes asleep in her cot right now until she wakes and then I'm taking hre to bed with me ..
BROOKE loves peek-a-blocks as well Sonia.
Her fav toys are DOLLS .. she is a very girly girl .. loves her dolls and EVERYBODY elses dolls. she drags them everywhere and kisses them and snuggles her face in *sigh* it is very very cute. LOVES books .. she turns the pages :D I mean turns every page .. its so freaky, she has been here before!
Brooke is getting better on the change table now and in the car .. she was a horror in her carseat for a while and now is loving it more and more PHEW.
She took 2-3 steps tonight from the coffee table to the lounge .. so funny. I say 3-4 weeks and she probably will be walking at 10mths
anybody else?
I gotta fly girls.
hi all,
Good to hear everyone had a gr8 easter! WOW i hav missed so much!!!
Our easter was nice and quiet, not too much chocolate. We gave in and bought emma a white chocolate egg and she loved it!! She ended up with almost $50 and a few new clothes.
We are still having problems with little miss i dont want to eat anything but yoghurt:banghead: so im thinking its time for a diet change!! More finger foods??? Emma is still walking around the furniture and climing up on mine or anyone elses leggs, i had her in the paddling pool last weekend and she stood up by herself for about 10 secs twice:yelclap: so i have a feeling she will be an early walker too!
I have noticed that emma has been trying to make alot of new sounds latley, like sounds that could be new words if you know what i mean??? She is still chucking tantrums and trying to bit us when she doesnt get her own way, which we are trying to put a stop to!! She seems to be sleeping pretty good at the moment, with the exception of when i work late*LOL*as soon as i get home no matter how quiet i am she ALWAYS wakes up and wants to party!!!
We are still going to swimming lessons and having alot of fun learning!!! Hows all the other 'swimming bubs' going?
Sonia~im glad to hear about the possum! I checked out Nathans web page omigod he is growing up so much!! i luv the pic on the sand with Garth! Only 4 more weeks with your wooden friends:smiliedance: you wont know yourself when your finally free!!! I really want to cath up soon, i will have to make some free time to come over!!!
Lisa~Congrats on the walking Brooke!!!! What a clever girl! Emma luvs books too its so strange how they can turn the pages*LOL*it looks funny a little bubba doing it all by themselves!!! She is a bit of a tom boy im afraid, she has dolls but love playing with trucks and cars BUT her most fav toy ia a 'stacks chip' container with a block in it that she rattles! lol all that money we spend on toys and she is happy with a home made toy!
I know i missed heaps of other mums and bubs, sorry! BUT i think im running out of steam!!
:hugs: good night take care
jes
hey riss are you still coming to brissy in august? and where the hell is manxie?? is she in the uk??? haven't had an update on lucy for sooooo long! nath can't wait to meet his psychically linked twin in ozzy...
jes and lisa, have to catch up again soon. yep, only three weeks left on crutches. omg i have never felt so useless in my life... cant wait to drive and walk and be normal again!
nathan too is attempting the standing thing... only manages a couple of seconds before plonking on his bum!
mum and dad put nath in the sandpit today, they bought him a bob the builder bucket and spade set. He loved it, had a great time, didn't eat any sand (what a bonus). Any other mums with little boys find that they eat ANYTHING and EVERYTHING?????
have a top weekend girls.

been busy here .. had my brothers wedding yesterday, Brooke had a good time :D she slept ALL night last night, I don't even think she MOVED!!
Whos gonna watch Big Brother tonight? I can't believe its come around so fast .. last year I put on so much dam weight with being preggers eating pringles watching it with Brooke .. the year before I was preggers and *sadly* miscarried while Big Brother was on .. I wonder if this big brother will be uneventful!! *wink*
Jes - CUTE av :D ummm .. I bought Brooke this Heinz Banana, Strawberry Porridge and I heat it up a bit and she loves it ( i'm not keen on the jars ) but she loves this stuff .. very smooth texture. other then that I just give Brooke little bits of our vegies and dinner. Brooke loves water .. this summer I'm definately gonna start proper swimming lessons.
Sonia - YES, have to catch up again. I can only imagine what it must feel like on wooden sticks ((hugs)) not long now until your FREE!!!! what does Nathan think of them ?

Hi All,
Hope everyone is well. Will has a bit of a cold this week, so he has been really clingy and miserable....my poor little man.
He is standing unaided for a few seconds at a time now as well which is sooo exciting. I am still trying to teach him to clap his hands....but instead he waves his arms up and down, and hits his knees...really cute.:D
Has anyone started thinking about ideas for first birthday parties yet?
Hi there,

Hey guys,
We're still here. Haven't been reporting much as Oscar, it would seem, is rather behind all the others and there isn't much to report. He's not crawling - he scoots backwards along the floor on his tummy and that's about it. He can't stand unaided yet and he isn't interested in lifting his feet to walk. He has 2 teeth, a bottom front one and a bottom eye tooth and his top two have been just about to break the skin for close on a couple of weeks now. They just won't seem to break through.
He's such a little cherub. Tonight before bed he totally smothered me in big sloppy open mouth kisses all over my face. He's so adorable. I just wish he would start moving, I'm starting to worry that he's a little behind in the movement department. I wonder if it is partly because he's so heavy - he's over 11kg (not sure excatly how much) so he's got a lot of weight to try and move around. I might try and book in to see our CYH nurse this week and talk to her about it.
Glad to hear everyone's bubba are going so well.
Off to study again. Yuk. I wish I had never decided to go back to Uni!

hey girls.
I guess we can say we have a WALKER now! a friend said "um SHE Is walking Lisa" thats called starting to walk ... Brooke decided to show off yesterday and walked right accross My Mums living room HOLDING a doll!! I guess this "truely" is the beginning for us then , she has always been very strong little girl .. couple of my friends both had walkers at 9 mths. If there determined you can't stop them no matter what they reckon. I can hold her hand now and she will walk along ..though she PULLS her hand away as if to say "me do it" ..
Mummabear - i'd say 11kg might be the reason .. don't worry too much, every baby is different, have a chat to your CHN. He sounds so adorableee. Don't study too hard.
Sonia - LOL about the crayons :D

hi ladies
i hope you dont mind me popping in and saying hi.
my name is mel and i have three boys. my youngest being joel who will be 10 months on friday
joel is still not moving too much either. my other 2 definitley were by now! joel is commando crawling but nothing else. im figuring that its coz he is quite heavy too.... saw the child health nurse last week and she wants me to come back in a month to check on his progress. shes pretty confident its nothing to worry bout though:rolleyes:
joel has three teeth and another almost through, i think joel must be a bit more laid back and cruisy than my other 2 as they had more than that at this age!!! i think he likes to keep me guessing! cheeky little bear
well im hoping to make some new friends as im only new on here.... all you ladies (and ur beautiful bubbas) sound great!
welcome mel. your boys are sooooo cute!!!!
nothing new to report here. Knee brace is OFF! but still no driving and still on crutches... :(
nathan sends kisses to all the chickybabes as usual.

Hey girls
How are all the bubs going with food? How much are they eating now and drinking?
Nathan is a guts and eats EVERYTHING put in front of him. He has a full-on tantrum if you are eating and he's not, even if he has just finished a meal. :shame: Not cool. You have to eat with the plate held at head-height!!
His food/drink goes like this...
Wakeup - 200ml bottle formula
Brekky - 6 teaspoons of farex or Heinz cereal with 4 teaspoons of pureed fruit, made on cows milk. 120ml bottle of cows milk. Sometimes a piece of vegemite toast instead of cereal (cut into "soldiers").
Mid-morning - 100 diluted juice (not every day)
Lunch - Bowl of food - vegies, pasta mix, couscous mix, risotto mix etc. Whatever is going that day basically! 150ml diluted juice.
Mid-arvo - part-cooked carrot stick or stick of cheese or rusk to munch on. 250ml bottle of formula.
Dinner - Bowl of food - as per lunch. Usually equivalent to a jar of baby food or 5 tablespoons of vegies/meat etc. Sometimes fruit puree or plain yoghurt for dessert. 150ml bottle of formula.
He is now just starting to leave his bottles, having about 2/3 - 3/4 of them. Still not interested in water from a bottle, although he did drink water from a plastic cup yesterday (about 30ml) so that is something.
I am trying to get out of using bottle teats now and have him on the avent sippy cup caps instead for all bottles except the very first morning one. He likes his Heinz sippy cup too. He doesn't feed himself, only the finger foods.
Would be interested to hear what the other babies are doing food-wise.
x Sonia
Hi girls,
Well Will is finally getting better,he had a vomitting bug for almost 7 days. He is slowly starting to eat solids again. I had him weighed on Monday and he is 9.01kg.
Welcome to Mel.:D
Sonia - When Will isn't sick he tries to eat everything in sight to...I think catalogues would be his favourite:laughing: . He protests when I try and spoon feed him, so most of his meals are finger foods - carrot, potato, pumpkin, zucchini, cooked apple, tin peaches, chicken, bread/toast, noodles. etc.

Hi everyone
Remember me... its been quite some time since I have written anything on here but I still pop in and update on all of the mums and bubs. I have just been too busy as we got married at Easter so it was full on and I am still doing wedding things:banghead: does it end soon !!! I just have the Thank you cards to send and it will be over. We had a beautiful day/days (four day event). My god it was the most exhausting four days I have ever had. I would recommend getting married before having babies. It was just so hard trying to live out of a little room full of baby things, trying to wash and sterlise, entertain our guests and look after Logan was so much! But I should not complain as it was perfect and to see everyone was great.
Well if you remember I was going on a 4 night honeymoon and was worrying about leaving Logan. Anyway it turned out OK. I cried for the first 2 days and then I was just excited that we would see him in 2 days that I was fine. He did really well for his Nan. Luke and I were fighting over who would hold him first and had our seatbelts off at the beginning of our street for a race, but Luke gave in and let me at him first. My god I think he changed so much in the 5 days and looked like a real little boy!! But that night was a nightmare trying to get him to sleep. If either of us left the room he would scream. I think he thought if he went to sleep we would not be there when he woke up. It broke our hearts to see him like this so we swore we would not leave him for that long again!!
Logan is nearly walking, he takes two steps and then falls on his bum but cruises the furniture very fast and just loves the TV and blinds! I'm very surprised his first word wasnt NO!. He will walk if you hold his hand though so I think he will walk in a couple of weeks. He has finally found the kitchen draws and today I went and bought a gate to keep him out as our oven is also a low one so everytime I have it on I have to follow him to make sure he doesnt go up to it. He isnt a big eater but wants to taste everything we eat. I have just swapped his morning bottle and breaky around so this is his routine:
7am Breaky (weetbix or muesli or toast)
8.30am Bottle 200mls (usually only drinks 150mls)
9-9.30am sleep (usually 1.5 hours)
11.30 Bottle
12.30 lunch (fruit and/or vegies or vegemite on bread/ yoghurt, carrot sticks
2.00 sleep (usually 1.0-2.0 hours)
3-4 bottle
5.30 dinner (meat & vegies) sometimes dessert
6.30 Bath
7.00 bottle
7.30 sleep
He also loves sultanas!!
I am thinking of cutting one of his bottles out as since I have changed his breaky around it seems all squished in. But I will talk to the health nurse.
Is anyone else thinking of having another bub?? I think about it everyday but we have plans to try in Oct as I am a bridesmaid and we have my husbands 30th and I dont think it would be fun to have morning sickness but on the other hand I would love to start in July as I would be then 3 months and the sickness should be over. We will see what happens. I have been researching gender selection and names!! We would love a girl
Well :ecomcity: :ecomcity: I think I have said way too much and Lost is on so I better go.
Hope all is well, take care
Cheers

We are gonna start on a brother fro Brooke when we get from Sydney in November .. Hubbie is in the wedding party and we are taking brooke to Taronga zoo and I really dont' want to be preggers with all that fun .. so this xmas I hope to start on # 2!!
We have a boys name picked .. NO IDEA if we have another girl .. I just want 1 of each and we are DONE!
I really wanted a girl !!! so i did some tricks not sure if it really helped though with our procedure we did to get Brooke she should have been a boy .. as we did it right on ovulation, which they say also creates boys. hmmm
I took 1000mg of folate a day and calcium tablets .. kept away from salt and biscuits and chips and pies .. eat lots of fresh food for girls.
good luck!

HI GIRLS!
thankyou so much for being so welcoming!
joel has about the same as all ur bubs to eat each day:
6.00 bottle 200mls
9.00 breakkie- porridge/weetbix
12.00 lunch- sandwich or some kind of pasta/rice, veggies and meat dish
2.00 bottle 200mls
5.00 dinner- something similar to lunch- loves chicken and fish!
6.30 bottle 200mls
in between all of that he will usually have some fruit to nibble on and a vegimite twist during the day (loves those!) sometimes theres a yoghurt in there too! just one of those petitmiams. he would eat all day if he could! but my other 2 were like that too! must be boys????
joel has started to stand by himself yesterday but we have to help him get to there as he still hasnt mastered pulling himself up yet!
i too have been longing for another bub! i know , i know you all must think im nuts as i already have 3! but always said i would have 4!
we tried the shettles method for a girl when i fell pregnant with joel... obviously it didnt work! lol! we love him sooo much though we wouldnt have it any other way! next one would be nice to have as a girl though. with 3 big brothers to look after her!!! lol!
any way i brought the subject up with blake the other week and he said he would prefer to wait until the end of next year. so i guess ill just have to wait! its better than him saying no i guess! plus he starts his new job away on the mines next week so i guess now isnt really a good time anyway!
well i think ive blabbled enough:ecomcity: , i better go earn my keep and clean this house! :D hope to hear what all your beautiful bubs are doing soon!

Fairly new to this hub bub thing....but already addicted hehehe.
I went to a playgroup last week with other hub bubbers, but other than that i don't have any friends/family close by with babies. DD was born 26/7/05....it was good to read thru your thread re food.....i was worried that she wasn't eating enough, but you have put my mind at ease!!!!
if you ever plan any get togethers in Brisbane i'd love to come......scarlet would love some friends her own age!!!!!
Welcome Marissa n' Scarlett. There are a couple of us Brisbanites around the July Mummy thread so we'll keep you posted on a catch up. What part of Brisvegas are you in? we are all spread out.
HAPPY MOTHERS DAYS GIRLS!!!!
I had a lovely day... DH got me some earrings from Nathan :) and my little boy was VERY clever and did something VERY cool... DH said to Nathan "Where's Mummy?" and nathan looked at me and POINTED!!!!!!!! :yelclap: how cool! He also has this huuuuuge gorilla thing at my folks place called "Bongo" and DH said to Nath "where's Bongo?" and Nathan turned around and pointed at the gorilla! He is a genius I tell you!!! Geez, I am such a proud mummy!
So I hope you all had great mother's days too.

Hello, hello, hello,
I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day.
Sonia - how awesome is that, Nath is such a clever boy.
For Mother's Day I got Oscar's first ever finger painting, very cool and very cute :D. I also found out that I'm pregnant again, so that was a wonderful present :smiliedance:
Oz loves his food (at 11.5kg I'm sure that doesn't come as a surprise to you all, lol). His day of nutrition usually goes something like this.......
Wake up
150ml bottle of formula
Brekky (usually about 45 mins after waking)
1 x Weetbix with cows milk, or
Heinz multigrain cereal with banana made with water, or
Heinz apple muesli with cows milk, or
Vegemite toast
Morning Tea
If he is hungry he has a Arrowroot biscuit, but this doesn't always happen
Lunch
Yoghurt and fresh fruit, like watermelon and kiwi fruit, or
Mashed up salt reduced baked beans, or
Vegemite sandwich, or
Vegies
Afternoon Tea
150ml bottle of formula and a rusk
Dinner
Steamed vegies and meat, or
Pasta and vegies, or
Vegies, or
A jar of baby food, but he's not a big fan of the jarred stuff
Bedtime
150ml bottle of formula that usually doesn't get drunk
Overnight, anywhere between 3am and 5am
150ml bottle of formula
He only drinks water throughout the day. He has a Tomee Tippie bottle with a non-drip straw that he has with him throughout the day and he drinks from it constantly, he's pretty good with drinking his water.
Well, that's it for me at the moment. Time to get some beauty sleep.

Brooke woke up at 7pm .. she wouldn't eat her shepherds pie  she scoffed a cut up vegemite sanga instead and had some pear .. at least she ate something. I let her run around the house for a couple hours after that and she easily went down again at 9pm.
gotta fly. talk again soon girls. Webshots is GREAT mel isn't it. I keep alot of my private albums on there.

Larissa...
WOO HOO! CONGRATULATIONS!!!! A bubba-bubbabear!! That is awesome news.
Speaking of expectant mothers... has anyone heard from Mia's mum lately?? Want to know how she is doing!!
We are all fine at this end. My boofhead (DS, not DH!) is going the same, happy and playing and standing but not walking yet. He'll do it when he's ready. He doesn't like to crawl very much anymore, instead he runs around hanging on to anything he can and launching himself across gaps! It's quite funny to watch...
More physio again today, it is $50 a session which is bleeding me dry at the moment... three times a week... still it is worth it if it helps my knee to heal. Should be back driving by next week fingers crossed :fingerscrossed:
Hope you are all well! Teeth and strange sleeping habits seem to be a common thread...
Oh hey and what do you with sandwiches for bub? I have seen that a few of you give cheese sangers or vegemite sangers to bub... just bread, butter and filling, cut up and let them go for it? Might try it for lunch today for a change!
xoxo Sonia
Hi everyone,
Sorry i havnt been around i have been a bit busy(for a change) There seems to be alot of clever walking bubs now!
Congrats mummabear:hugs: i would love to have that suprise!
Sonia~Emma does the same thing with scooting around the furniture and kind of jumping from one to the other! See you on the 1st! We cant wait!
Lisa~Brooke is such a clever girl! Are you meeting up with us on the 1st of june? would love to see you both!
Emma is still cutting her top teeth so she is a bit grumpy, i swear she has the slowest teeth in the world!!! She is still not eating very well, BUT she loves her vegimite sangas or toast. We give her cut up pear and banana, tinned carrots and even a warmed dinner roll(diped in gravy) I just cant get her to eat her vegies or meat unless is store bought! ANY IDEAS:chef:
Emma has turned into a sleep-a-holic(sorry to all the mums whos bubs dont sleep!) She has an hour and a half at 10ish then another 30-45mins at 12:30-1 and another sleep at 3:30ish:eek: Then its bed at 7:30-8pm till 8ish. I know im guna get HATE MAIL for writting this BUT hey. Do you think its because its getting cooler? it makes it nearly impossible to leave the house!
When should we start to wean off the bottle and on to the cup? and when do we stard giving cows milk?
Take care

hi ..
just doing a pit stop.
jes - we will be away on the 1st! are you guys meeting up? have a great time .. brooke seems to like baked tiny tats and pumpkin .. i cook it in olive oil .. zap the vegies 1st and then fry them up in and add a tiny bit of salt .. she LOVES corn .. sweet corn you heat up .. loves IT! try Emma .. I bet she will love corn. I was "trying" to eat my corn the other night and Brooke once again had refused to eat her own food and bopped up and down between my legs while I tried to eat my cob .. and the little thing ate half of it :D
Sonia - I cut teh crusts of my bread and butter it lightly put smear avocado on it and thin slice of coon fold it over and press down hard and then cut it all up in tiny tiny pieces .. size of m&m's .. and let Brook feed herself .. she loves it. good for when out and about as well. Today she had chopped chicken and cut up bread with Cranberry sauce on it. It went quite smoothy I must say.
HI everybody .. I gotta fly .. off to dinner tonight and have to pack Brookes bag .. shes asleep right now. Have a great weekend girls.

MEL - your webshots is great! what does your hubbie do? how is perth? how is the weather?
forgot to say ..
jes - I'm gonna try Brooke on cows milk when shes 1 .. also gonna keep her on
S26 but the stage 3 formula then .. the vanilla drink they can have... I'm looking forward to cows milk though .. then she can have a little Choc Quic ( sp? ) the choc drink here and there . .she'll love that with cheerios.
leaving now!
Hi Girls,
Well Will is finally better and back to his old self. I hope he doesn't get sick like that again anytime soon.
Lisa - Will loves corn too. I just give him the tin stuff and put it on his high chair tray, he picks it up and eats it himself. He also easily eats sultanas too now, no longer gags.
Jes - I stir-fry carrot, mushroom, bacon, potato, zuchinni and capscium in a little olive oil and soya sauce and Will loves it...I cut everything up really small and he feeds himself. But then again he has always loved eating vegetables...

Hey girls,
Well, I'm still in shock - can't believe it. I bought another pregnancy test tonight and will get DH to check it (he was asleep for the other 2). I'm sure 2 positive is sufficient enough really, but it just seem so unreal - one more and I might start believing it, lol.
Oz has been going great. His top two teeth are through (so now he has one bottom front, one bottom eye tooth and his two top front teeth). He's had explosive poos, slight temp, burning and rosy cheeks and today he's been spitting up a bit - tonight he threw up twice but it didn't seem to bother him. I'm presuming that it's all to do with teething . He seems fine within himself.
He's still scooting around everywhere backwards - hasn't mastered the art of forwards yet, but he'll get there eventually.
I've joined Tupperware now to earn a little extra $$$$ and had to go to training thismorning so took him with me as I didn't have a babysitter. He was such a good boy, playing with his toys, he even had a nap in his pram. All this inbetween shmoozing the ladies :p.
Jess - Oz went off his vegies for about 6 weeks. All I did was keep offering. He loves yoghurt so I would give him yoghurt and when he opened his mouth for the next spoonful I slipped in a veg - I only did this a couple of times a feed though as I didn't want him to start refusing to eat at all. Slowly he ate more and more of the veg and eventually he would eat it without protest. I guess every baby is different - Oz won't eat his dinner if it's cut up into finger food for him - he just plays with it and doesn't want to eat anything then - he has to have his veg mashed up and fed to him - but he will eat a sandwich or a piece of fruit or a piece of cheese. Just keep trying different methods - eventually something will work. I also used to put grated cheese in the veg and heat it up to get him to take it, and a friend of mine used to mix in creamed cheese with the veg for his kids, and another friend used to mix in a bit of gravy or vegemite - maybe one of those might help?? Good luck - you'll eventually find something.
Well, better scoot. Catch up soon
Larissa
Howdy chicks
Cows milk... just started using it about 10 days ago to mix up farex or banana cereal, then just substituted his brekky bottle with 120ml of cows milk instead. Have had no probs. I read that you can introduce it at the rate of about 1 feed per day per week, e.g. if bub has 4 bottles a day and you want to switch from formula to cows milk for all 4 bottles, then one week you switch it to 1 cows milk / 3 formula, then next week 2 and 2, then 3 and 1, and then by week 4 you are on cows milk only. Kinda like weaning from breast to bottle I guess.
Bottles vs cups... I have made the transition , with one exception - the wakeup feed is still on a teat. Had to be persistent as his majesty wasn't too happy about the sippy cup tops to start with, but now is very happy with them and doesn't care that they are different. I still have the plastic plugs in to slow the flow... another couple of months until I take them out I think. That will be another challenge I'm sure!
Vegies... think the sweet corn is a good one to try, Jes. Also whatever you and DP are eating, just throw some in the food processor (garlic and onion and all!) and mince it up a bit - maybe Em will eat it then if she thinks it is grown-up food??? All about reverse psychology girls!
What other questions were there...
Oh! I tried the sangers, half a cheese one and half an avo one and they were messy but successful today for lunch. He really liked the cheese one. Will try cutting them up a bit smaller though, I cut into quarters and had to do a bread-clearance out of the mouth at one stage!!!
Glad Will is back to his old self... poor little mite...
Still can't believe oz is going to be a big brother!!!
Gotta go, Amazing Race is on!
x Sonia and Nath
Hi all,
A BIG thank you for all you sugestions with meal times:D I think i might try the stirfry with the soy sauce i think Emma will like the saltyness(SP?)Also cutting it up in little pieces might do the trick:fingerscrossed:
Mum2will~im glad will is feeling better!
Lisa~i have tryed Emma with roast potatoes and pumkin but she just plays with it! Yeh me and Sonia will still meet up, we will have to do it another time to catch up with you and Brooke!
Sonia~What kind of milk do you give Nathan, do you dialute it? Are you just using the sippy cup lids with the Avent bottles? I cant believe how far the old couple went in the amazing race!! Whos your fav couple?
Hi to everyone else:wave:

Hi Girls,
Well I am really excited, I have just finished making Will's Birthday Invitations.:smiliedance: I know that it is a little early, but all our families are in Queensland, so I wanted to get them out sooner rather than later.
Mummabear - Congratulations on being pregnant:D . I would love to try for a baby brother or sister for Will soon, but I have to wean him first (still breastfeeding him.....turns out weaning is taking longer than I expected, but ohh well we will get there.) and it would also be nice to have him sleeping through the night to,:fingerscrossed: that will be soon.
Jes - Will has a little cows milk with his cereal, but that is all. He was being a bit sick on Dairy food, so the Drs. advised me to cut it out of his diet until he is over 1.
I hope you have all had a lovely weekend....I miss Queensland weather, it is cold down here in S.A.

We are actually joining forestlake playgroup Assoc. very soon .. my gf's hubbie is a SAHM daddy and takes there boy along "Brookes boyfriend" each thursday , its just around the corner so nice and close and no stress with Brooke throwing tantrums tyring to drive into the city etc ..my gf's bub is 2 weeks older , so i'm gonna join then soon .. Brooke will love it.
Brooke has a playdate with another bubhub bub next week .. they only live 5 mins from us and her girl is only a week older.
IS it just me or does everybody find there is alot of JULY babies around!! i do ..
Umm .. with teats and bottles. Brooke still loves her bot bots. She is still drinking close to 900mls as well with all teats on bottles .. I'm just gonna keep giving her full bottles until the day comes when she starts refusing them .. cause she still eats all her food and loves her snacks.
She has a water sippy cup without the handles on it .. and lays down and drinks her water from it after lunch .. maybe later I'll fill that up with formula and start the transition slowly then from bottle to cups .. *sigh* shes still my baby though .. I think around 14-18 mths if she is still wanting the bottle I may have to put my foot down then .. just pit stop again! have a great week! HUbbie is HOME .. yay
CIAO
EDIT - OH .. the reason why I'm here .. gues what BROOKE does now .. leans forward and does a hand plant and stretchs and stands and just walks OFF .. without even having to hold onto the wall to stand up 1st .. she has totally got it now!
:smiliedance:
its definately playgroup time here ;)
i think we need to rename brooke "speedstar"!!! LOL.
Nath took his first steps by himself at our friend's place on Sunday night. Also climbed up their stairs!! (with daddy standing up behind him the whole way). Geez he is getting mobile!! He isn't as quick as young brooke but getting there.
His teeth are right through now, don't know if you can see the top four in the Avatar, but they look soooo cool!
Jes, I don't dilute the cows milk. Just use plain full cream milk in his little heinz sippy cup. He loves it. Chugs it down (just like mummy drinking red wine...)
Our steriliser has died, so I guess that means the end for us sterlising bottles. DH cleaned it with vinegar (we have an Avent electric one) as he has done before and it is just cactus now, beep-beep-beep-beeps. Oh well I'm not too worried, he is 10 months now... geez girls, 10 months old, can you believe our babies are getting so big and so old?!?
Speaking of bubbas, someone has just woken up so I had better go and set him free from the cot.
Hey I got some bargain outfits for Nath from ebay - $16 total for 5 outfits, including postage! Osh Kosh Bgosh overalls, Hang Ten outfits, t-shirts, Pumpkin Patch overalls... what a bargain! THey are in great condition too.
Gotta fly.

Hey girls,
Mum2Will - you can still get pg while bf. There are several women on this forum that have done it so if you're interested have a search through.
Went to the doc this morning - she said that the 3 tests I did at home were sufficient enough, lol. I go and get my bloods done when I can find the time this week.
Oz had a bad day today, poor little man. I ran out of huggies nappies so he wore one of his day time nappies to bed last night and he was wet right through this morning, plus he did one of his explosive acid poos overnight (he NEVER poos overnight) and he's got the worst nappy rash from it. Plus his teeth are bothering him a bit. His poos are still really explosive and sloppy so I might try and get him to the doc in the next few days just to make sure everything is okay. I heard that the pawpaw cream is really good for nappy rash - I got some from the chemist tonight, has anyone used it? I'll let you know how we do with it.
Oz isn't doing much more than the last post - still scooting around backwards. We caught up with Manxie and Lucy for lunch on Monday, which was lovely. Miss Lucy has grown up so much (as they all have I guess, lol) - she's sooooooo gorgeous and VERY mobile.
I want to do Buzz Lightyear invitations for Oscar's birthday, but I want to make them so I really should get started on them - before I know it it will be July!! I just can't believe that he's 10 months old. He's such a cherub - he's got the biggest cheesy grin and he loves flashing his pearly whites at anyone that will look in his direction.
I must admit that I'm really scared about having this next baby - I adore Oscar soooo much, the sun rises and sets with him, he's my whole world and I worry that I won't be able to love another baby as much as I love him. I know that isn't the case, and everyone that I've spoken to that has more than 1 kid has said so, but at this point in time I just can't understand how I could possibly love anyone else as much as I love him.
Anyway - I'd better get going, DH wants the computer so I might have an early night.
Catch up with you all soon.

Riss - I ADORE Brooke so much as well .. I totally understand "how can you love another" quote. I've also been told you "just do" - CONGRATS again .. I hope to join you around xmas with a belly. I use Sudacream only on Brookes butt now, i've found its unreal!
*sigh* about acid pee/poo with Oscar .. Brooke had that once and cried her little eyes out on teh change table and she was just trickling a little pee out and cried .. broke my heart!!! Sudacream really is good though, heals so fast with that stuff .. pawpaw cream sounds really good .. let us know how it goes!
*ciao
very quick
the pawpaw cream rocks, i use it on everything. even for me! for baaaaad nappy rash though I swear by Daktozin - one or two applications and the rash is gone. Very good stuff. But I use the pawpaw ointment when it is just starting to get a bit red or a bit dry.
Hi all
How are we all:wave: Hasnt it been cold the last couple of days! I have put Emma in her quilted growbag now.
Sonia~I cant believe Nathan is walking! WELL DONE! Emma can climb stairs too, i had her outside a few weeks ago and i turned my back for a min or so and she was on the 3rd step up holding onto the rail looking at me:shame: it scared the **** out of me! Still no walking, she wont even stand up without me holding her hand anymore! We are really looking forward to seeing you both on thursday, i think they will have heaps of fun playing together!
We had swimming today and Emma is getting so much better now! She can kick and paddle with me holding onto her. When we put her under the water now she closes her eyes and her mouth and kicks her legs! Im so proud:yelclap:
I tried all your suggestions on feeding her and nothing worked, she still doesnt like lumps in her mash. We are back to tinned and those fresh saches(SP?)from woolies. The only food she will eat that i make is v/mite sanga, cut up fruit and sometimes she will eat a roast potato. She does enjoy chewing on a pork chipolato(SP?) sausage and doesnt chock.
We have decided to wait till 12 months to try cows milk. Although she is ok with vanilla ice-cream*LOL* And we r guna keep the bottle for a while yet! Im such a big sook!!!
I cant wait to have another baby BUT my other half says NOits so not fair!!! If he doesnt change his mind by the end of the year i think i might have to forget to take my pill!*LOL*
Any how i better go now, god i can :ecomcity:
Take care jes

hi
I've ran out of time .. just saying Hi.
LOL jess  on ttc ... hey, have you girls seen Junior Milk .. Sonia ? it looks really good ..
I think I'm gonna try that when Brooke is ready for milk etc ..
I gotta go. ciao
no haven't seen the junior milk, nath just gets plain jane full-cream milk, Pauls this week I think...
bummer on the vegies Jessie... I think we've tried all ideas! Does Emma like meat? What about doing pasta or meat with a little bit of vegies?
nath is soooo cool (a fairly standard line in my posts these days...) - he plays the piano with one finger now! He does scales!!!!! It is sooooooooooooo cute... love him so much, melts my heart! he is so proud of himself for being able to do it too.
about the next baby... i am so confused... dont know what we should do! Financially we should WAIT wait wait before getting pg again, it would be great for me to work for at least another 18 months before having to take maternity leave again, but then the other part of me loves the idea of having another bub sometime in the next year or so. If only money weren't an issue! Still, we are very lucky and will just take it a day at a time.
Hope you all have a great weekend.
xoxo sonia

So - Nath's a muso hey!! I can just hear the groupies lining up now!!!
Oscar is officially crawling :smiliedance: :smiliedance: I'm so excited. I thought he was never going to get there. He's so darn proud of himself, it's soooo funny.
We've had a few bad nights lately - I think it's his teeth. But he made up for it last night and slept through the night. I'm really noticing the lack of sleep now that I'm pregnant and he's cut down his day sleeps so no napping for me during the day either. Luckily Mum and Dad have just retired so there may be a few emergency calls to them for a couple of hours of napping later during this pregnancy.
I went to Pumpkin Patch yesterday to buy a pair of maternity jeans as I needed new jeans anyway so I just figured that I may as well buy maternity ones as I'll probably be pregnant for the next 5 years . Anyway, they have a fake belly that you can try on with your clothes to see how they are going to fit you further down the track. I put it on and got a bit teary. This pregnancy hasn't really seemed real yet, but when I put the belly on I got a flood of memories of what it was like having that big belly full of bubba and I got all excited. I didn't want to take the thing off, lol.
Sonia - we're struggling financially but we figure that we'll just manage somehow. You always manage to find the money somewhere to make do, and if we waited until we were financially ready we would never even have had Oscar - we're never going to be 'financially' ready - but so long as we're emotionally ready we figure we'll manage.
I bought some SanRemo fresh pasta (fettucini) and a SanRemo pasta sauce yesterday and Oz had some of that with us at dinner time. He LOVED it - scoffed it down. There was a little bit let over so I put it aside for his dinner tonight and he scoffed it again. I think we've found a winner!!! It was just the most plain sauce I could find (think it was tomato, onion and garlic) and the plain egg fettucini, then I grated a little cheese into his.
Now that he's crawling DH undressed him in the loungeroom infront of the heater tonight for his bath and he crawled up the hallway to the bathroom - it brought tears to my eyes, that's just something that I've always looked forward to, watching my children crawl/walk/run up the hallway in the nuddie heading for the bath. Don't know why, probably because I remember that time as a kid and it was always accompanied with loads of laughter and screams of excitement - with Mum or Dad pretending to chase me up the hall. Ahhhhhhh, my boy is growing up soooo quickly.
Well, now that I've rambled on about nothing in particular I'll let you all go - I really should get some sleep too.
Have a great weekend everyone. Catch you next week.
xxxx
WELL DONE OSCAR!!! :smiliedance:
Sonia(or anyone else) how do you do your meat and pasta for the bubbas? Do yo still wizz them up or just leave them? Im sooooo confused!
Ok just a quick one, lots more cleaning to do while little miss is asleep!
I know no one wants to hear it sorry BUT Emma slept 16.5 hours last night!!! When i woke to check her at 9am she was fast asleep so i thought il go back to bed for another few mins till she gets up! WELL at 10:30am i woke with a fright(cause she was still asleep)thinking something BAD had happend but no she was snorring for another 10 mins! I wish she would do that every weekend:thumbsup:
Take care and have a lovely weekend:wave:

Go Miss Emma!!!!
Oz has done a few good sleeps for us lately - a couple until 9am which have been nice.
Meat and Pasta........,
I just cut his meat up into really small pieces so that if he decided not to chew it would be okay. The best meat that I gave him was some meat out of our stew the other night, cause it was soooo tender and just fell apart, really easy for him to eat. I also got him some sausages and cooked them in the George Forman so all the fat came out of them, then I cut them open and scooped out the inside as the GF leaves a crust on the sausages - he loved that too.
When I am making pasta especially for Oz I use the tiny little pasta that looks like rice and I over cook it a little so it's soft. But with the fettuccini the other night I just cut it up and fed it to him on a fork and he didn't have any problems with it at all.
It's so cool being able to give him the same stuff that we have for dinner (within reason - I didn't think he'd want chili concarne last night ).
Hope everyone is having a good weekend. DH has been out most of last night and today so I'm feeling a little bored (and very tired) - I don't think I'm going to get my usual sleep in this weekend somehow. Oh well, thems the breaks, lol.

:yelclap: Oscar.
:yelclap: EMMA! excellent little sleeper you have .. she is a keeper jes *wink*
 nathan the muso.
We trotted off to the spotlight sale today and I picked up 2 great flan fabs for brookes new pillow cases .. she sleeps on pillows now. She is asleep in her cot right now, when I'm ready to go to bed I'll go grab her and we snuggle all night and if she wakes I just flip her back and we snore until around 7am .. Hubbie joins us at some ridiculous hour .. men!
I'm making this cool tissue box at the moment .. scrapbooking creation. was gonna start it .. but can't find this site i'm looking for , so decided to come say hi.
Money sux hey. I wish I could work 1 day .. can't bring myself to do it though. When I tried I was nearly sick , just the thought of leaving brooke. We love eating out .. so we just have baked bean jaffles once or twice that week and we go out that weekend to compensate. Money sux. not enough, everything costs to much .. ick
Climbing .. Brooke loves to climb up on her toy box and then twist sand turns and sits and nearly falls off backwards .. OH my treadmill .. SHE IS So bad .. she gets up on there and now tries to STAND  very scary girls. OH .. walking also gives her a new height .. she just puts her little hands up everywhere now and pulls anything down ..
taking her for a walk along the beach next week .. with no hands .. will be cute. Gf is giving brooke this slippery slide to us tomorrow .. not sure how its gonna go .. I doubt brooke will be able to ride it .. but she will like the whole "new" thing in the house thats for sure.
gotta fly. take care , talk soon.
Hi girls,
Hope you all had a lovely weekend. I had a fairly relaxing one which was good. Will cut his 8th tooth today..he is still a little grizzly, but this one came through much better than the rest which is great.
sonia - so cute that Nathan plays the piano.Clever little man doing scales already, he must have great fine motor skills. Will has a minature drum kit, he loves banging on it with his hands (I don't let him have the drum sticks yet, tried that once and he almost poked his eye:rolleyes: )
Does anyone do activities with their bubbas, or can give me some ideas on some? I have tried crayon drawing with Will but he just isn't interested yet.
