:thumbsdown: yesterday i did a test and it came up positive, so like anyone i assumed i was pg, 2 blue lines...visible straight away.... well, not the case, i tried another brand got a negative....tested this morning negative followed by af... anyone else had problems with pregnosis tests:thumbsdown: .... makes you feel stupid telling people your pg, thankfully i only told dh and everyone here, but wow...its just wrong.

all i can put it down to is it was wrong.... :shame:

BJ, I had the same thing happen to me..

Im so sorry hun. Im never using pregnosis or any other 'strip' test again.

I think a great test is first response early from woolies, Ive not gotten one false positive yet..

So sorry BJ :hugs: I know exactlly how you are feeling I had the same problem with those pregnosis tests. The one i did you couldn't even call it faint it stood out like you know what but I like you tried a different test and it was negative followed by AF :thumbsdown: I wouldn't recommend using those tests to anyone they are evil. :mad: more :hugs: hun.

Sorry to hear that bronny. Maybe you should write to the company and let them know that it came up so brightly and was a neg. I can only imagine how many other women have had this probelm.

When I found out I was preg with Hugh I rang the company who made the tests-different to the one you used- and they said it's very rare to have a false pos so a huge thumbs down to this company.

Sounds like you need to send the test in to them
This was the one I used 2 weeks ago I did two tests to make sure, they both came up really bright. I then went tot he DOcs to confirm and then I truly believed he said yes you are definitely pregnant.

Oh dear. I'm so sorry to hear that BJ. I used a brand I got from the chemist, can't remember the name. I think it kinda goes like 'one...'.

I had the same problem when i fell. Digital came up positive and so did one step. I got a pregnosis one just to make sure and that came back neg..

But i ended up being positive.

Geez, I had EXACTLY the same thing happen this week. Was 4 days late so did a HPT (can't remember if it was pregnosis or fortel now though) and got an immediate bfp (woohoo!!!), clear as anything, no-doubt-about-it positive. Anyhooooo, I had a tiny bit of spotting so mum told me to go to doc, who did preg test in his surgery which came back negative - WTF??? Got AF the next morning (just after I'd gone to get a blood test to check the result...). So you can imagine how silly I felt having gone to the doc.

I kept the strip on the bathroom counter to check it since because I couldn't believe how definite it was. Next time I will be doing multiple tests before going to the doc to get it confirmed so he doesn't think I'm imagining things!

Anyway, long story short, I know how you feel. Kinda cr@ppy at best... :hugs:

That's really sucky, i had no idea how often it can happen to get false positives, those preg tests are ones i will definately steer clear of, what a bummer! :thumbsdown:

Sorry to hear of your false BFP, i hope you get a real one soon!

My golly gosh BJ you really didn't need that!! I would write in and complain as well.. Imagine all the women this has happened too.. Imagine if they kept using the same brand!

Hi, I got a fake BFP, cant remember if it was prognosis or fortel either.
Next time I will use Crystel Clear only.

I used pregnosis a couple of months ago and also got positives they were on all of them,but then i tested with another brand which cam up neg and then i got AF.

Actually i remember now it was prognosis that i got the fake positive cause the fortel i bought second from coles and it was negative

I'm so sorry to hear your story BJ. :hugs:

I hate the pregnosis brand - the last 3 times I've used it (the latest one was yesterday), the control line has barely even come up let alone the result line. It was so faint on all 3 of them and the company didn't care when I rang them. Sticking to Crystal Clear from now on.

I to used pregnosis a few months back and got a positive . DH said not to waste money on more tests to go to dr and the blood test was Negative. AF came the day after test results were in. Felt so stupid!

the way you can tell if its a positive is that it gets darker as it dries....

I so sorry to hear what's happened to you. It must be so disappointing.:crying: A negative result when you want a baby is bad enough. False positive is just cruel.
