A few mining questions??

Hi everyone,
DH has just got a job in the mines. Thankfully he is only based 1/2 an hour from where we live.
My questions are:
What sort of food should i provide him for work? Gotta be something to get through those long 12 hrs!
He starts tomorrow night on night shift which is 6pm -6am. 8 days on 4 days off.
How do i keep DD quiet, she;s not going to be quiet? A 16mth old teething and a shift working DH YAY:smiliedance:
Any advice at all on this subject would be fantastic.

I suggest your DH wears earplugs to sleep (he can get some from work). My DH has done so many years of shiftwork, but since having kids, it is so much harder to keep them quiet. My DH works underground, but used to work open-cut, so he now takes different food, due to the fact that he can't heat it etc. underground.
