I got an e-mail from a friend telling me about the new boy next door to her and what his parents have named him- Andrew. Now there is nothing wrong with Andrew at all, but check out his surname- Peacock. Andrew Peacock! If he is known as Drew then he can't ever go to high school!
Well i originally clicked reply to say 'call me stupid but i dont' get it'.
Then i got it.
I guess kids are gonna tease each other no matter what! Maybe he'll get lucky and be called Andy ? :)
I heard about a baby born here in Brisbane in the last few days whose parents have lovingly called him Bundy Bear (surname). What do these people think?
I have to say I didn't get it at first either - was thinking of references to the former politician - then the penny dropped - doh!
LOL scary isn't it Draught.
But Bundy Bear sounds so cute :p

I know a Johnnie Walker......
Same! Was thinking of the politician.
I had a speech and drama teacher when I was in primary school who was very stuck up. Her name was Mrs Nuss. It gave me great pleasure when I was 11 years old to discover her 2 sons were called Andrew and Peter. A. Nuss and P. Nuss.
lol - Must be slow this morning. Poor 'Drew'!!!! You are so right though - he'll never be able to go to high school!!!

That is just too cruel
I know someone who gave their child a name that reads B.Adcock and despite being told it *might* be problematic can't see the issue. Um ok. I also know an Ivor Locock, and a Dwayne Pipe whose dad was a plumber. I put so much thought into my son's name to avoid anything obvious being wrong with it. Makes you wonder, doesn't it?! I know a **** Trickel too :( He calls himself Richard but his family have always called him ****. Aren't they innocents or stupid???

Honest to god my DSS name is JackDaniels (one word mind you)
I didnt get the andrew bit at first either and i was saying it faster and faster then i got it - almost choked actually lol
Oh well some people yeh
And as for Bundy Bear - isnt that the polar bear?
JellyBean06
30-12-2005, 07:32
Yep - Bundy the Bear - cursed for life! :o
Speaking of Jack Daniel, also seen Jim Beam (James Beam), Max/well William....I'm sure there's others.
Talk about setting a child down a path for life! I like Kahlua - it ain't on my list! :D
Does a name make others look at the child and go 'you're a loser'/'your a winner'? Sorry if this offends but naming after grog or your dinner plate, to me shows lack of imagination and a love affair with the bottle (or the plate! perhaps both? in any order!). :p

I was looking after a baby once shortly after it was born, while doing something with the baby I asked the dad (who was proudly wearing a Holden Polo shirt) Soo do you have a name for her yet? He answered yea "Calias" Inocently I said ooh do you have a french connection? He gave me a stupid look and said no its a type of car
When you join as a sailor in the Navy - your ranks are Recruit, Seaman, Able Seaman, Leading Seaman etc.
I had one guy in my class who was called Ben Seaman so his rank after recruit school was Seaman Seaman.
Another guy in my class had the surname Staines  I kid you not!

Oh Scout! That's too cruel! The Navy has a lot to answer for! :D
On the topic of people with first names similar to last names.. in my first job as trainee receptionist at the physio I used to have to do alot of filing so i came across as Peter Peterson, Robert Robertson and a Richard Richardson (there was also Gary Gray so he was close!!). My first thought is how unoriginal are the parents??
The people with unfortunate surnames could be longer!! :D
I was thinking of the politician too, but then realised what you meant about Drew Peacock. Oh dear!

Hahhaa so my partner is a Saint & so is my son .... shame i think otherwise  ;)
