I just wanted to know about the weeks or months thing. My baby is 6 months on 2 Jan but not officially 6 months until the 18th of Jan. I have taken his immunisations in weeks but i get confused when you come to the 12 month immunisation.... Do you wait until he is offically 12 months?... confused:

I am waiting till he is 12 months, as in his birthday.

I think you can give up counting weeks! I gave up weeks when he got to about 3 months I think. Weeks are generally just used in the early months...when so much changes so quickly in the newborn phase.

I stopped couting weeks with both of mine after their first injections. After that I took the months as per the day of the month they were born - weeks were too hard to keep track of. Once bub is past 12 weeks, medico's refer to them in months anyway.

I don't think it would be a problem if you had them done when bub was 12mths in weeks or exactly 12mths, and had them done on bubs birthday.
I don't think DS ever had any of his imunisation done exactly on time, it was always a week or so early or late :o It was never a problem tho...I guess the dr would have said something to me if they needed to be done exactly on time.

Immunisation needs to be done somewhat on time but that means a week or so either way is fine but your doctor should tell you when to come in next in regards to keeping them "on time". Try to do this as best as possible because then there is an opening for the bugs. Its all confusing at times but if your still not sure what to do asking your doctor wont hurt.
You use the weeks stage to begin with then around 3mths it changes to months weird i know but its what the medico's use so go by the date bubs was born eg. baby being born on the 7th March 2005 would be 6mths on the 7th September 2005 so 12mth vaccination would be given on the 7th March 2006.
