Hmmmm... I'm very new to MCNs, but everywhere I've read have told me that I had to wash AND dry in between if I wanted to get a good absorbancy level.
Got this from a Hemp Product store, and this is particularly regarding hemp in nappies:
Before you first use your hemp nappies and accessories, please wash three times in hot water, drying them between each wash. They'll continue to increase in absorbency with use, but that should be enough to remove most of the natural oils and commence using with increased absorbency. Maximum absorbency may take up to approx 10 washes.
I was going to just wash and wash and wash and then dry as well... but everything I've found written on nappy websites tells me I have to wash AND dry...

It really doesn't make that much difference. If you are willing to wait then dry in between. It is not going to riun your hemp either way, just do what you want

It's up to you how many times you wash and dry, and if you are making nappies for yourself, I wouldn't be bothered wasting all that water, just to up the absorbency. I just use them and boost if necessary, though we change when wet, so it's sort of pointless in my house to wash that many times before use. One wash should get rid of any dirt, grime etc from the production process.
Most fabrics also shrink the first time you wash them. I've measured hemp before wash and after 1, 2 or 3 washes, and the difference is miniscule between washes.
Hope that helps clarify things.
