resentment/jealousy

I saw my psychiatrist on tuesday. we talked about a lot of things, including the break-up with my ex. The psychiatrist thinks i am jealous of DD because her father was openly able to tell DD that he loves her, but he could never say the words to me. I'm wondering if anyone else here has felt resentment or jealous towards their children because of their partners relationship with the children?

Hi Kare, I think my DD is still a bit young yet for this to effect me so much, just wanted to offer support...

If anything I would say I do feel jealous when my DD seems to like my DH more than me when I'm the one that feeds her and looks after her most of the time... But she just probably thinks he's more exciting because he's not dealing with lack of sleep and anxiety issues:rolleyes:
