We cannot have babies at the hospital in our town so we have to leave for the nearest suitable hospital 2 weeks before our due date.

For our next baby we have decided that we will pull out all the stops to ensure that we get the care we want and the birth that both we and the baby need. Soooo if that means leaving our home for a month or two months so be it...

anyhoooo we are interested in using a doula and I wanted to know how soon or rather how late in a pregnancy will a doula commit to being your birth assistant?

Hi K2ma,

What you can do, is start establishing a relationship with a doula over the internet before you head off to where you are birthing your baby. That way you both know you are commited to it when you get into town and you will already have a lot of info before you meet up.
