Welcome casper.

There are a number of mums around the Shire (I believe) most of which are pikers and go to bed early LOL

We are having a girls night out in January though which you are more than welcome to come to. There is a thread http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/showthread.php?t=8015&highlight=sydney+girls

Just keep a watch and they'll let you know when and where!!!

It would be great to meet new people around the shire.

A few details about myself i love to read true crime books and going for walks.

Ive recently moved from the Bankstown area, i am 24 my son Brock turns 3 on Jan 25th and has recently learnt to say no to everything i tell him. He also refuses to eat any meal other than lunch.

I am normally online after 8pm because that is the only time i get a chance with Brock as he thinks that the computer is his.

Love to chat to you all soon..

MERRY CHRISTMAS and have a GREAT NEW YEAR!!!!!!! To all...............
:) :D :D :)

I am in Mortdale, short train trip from engadine, and frequent bankstown weekly.. I would LOVE to meet up with adults during the day. I feel I am going insane stuck home alone all the time with 2 under 2..

Hi all i know that feeling of being isolated and stuck at home with a little one. I will admit that i am constantly turning to food for comfort or cigarettes just to fill the void of loneliness. :(
I like to go to the club here but i find that i get really bored when i go there alone and i seem to spend more than i know i should but it seems that it is my only distraction as i only get to go once a fortnight.
What doesnt help either is that no one is bothering to employ me as i can only work afternoons and i have very little experience.

My way of dealing with loneliness is walking to the local westfield EVERY DAY, one hour each way, just to see adults.. Isnt that bad
I have given up cigarettes, but since living alone and not having that person that comes home to you of a night time to talk with, its getting harder to deal with..
I HATE that so many employees want ppl that have sooo much experience in whatever field it is..
The field I want is Admin/customer service. Fair enough they may have diplomas etc, but a lot of them suck at good customer service skills.
I am thinking of going back to tafe to upgrade what i know so i can re enter the adult world..:D

Ive considered going back to tafe to do some admin courses but most of the courses are full time and im having enough trouble trying to get Brock into a child care or kindergarten for 2 days as it is let alone full time care. :( :(

I dont have that far to walk to shops so i find that i get bored of it very quickly as it is always the same stores and the same stock and alot of the time Brock plays up when i am there so i have no choice but to turn around and go home.

The other thing is because i dont have any friends here yet i get really bored lately i have been turning toward food for comfort. That is sad isnt it!!!!

Hi and welcome Casper09145 - sorry to come into this a bit late, but I have been away for a week.

I live in "the shire" also and have two boys aged 2 (3 in 4 weeks) and 20mths.

My 3y.o also hates eating anything other than lunch and he thinks the computer is his (wants the wiggles or shrek website on), so I am limited to coming here during their nap time.

Look forward to chatting with you more.

Hi Casper,
Welcome !
I know how you feel about being lonely and wondering the same shops everyday where i am. Even that gets boring. I go into the same shops all the time. They probably think i got no life. Oh well. We go to bankstown once a wk as well to eat there cos we love the food and also my inlaws are in Revesby and Bella goes there every sunday.

I have added you to my msn so hopefully get to know you better!
cheers

Hello Mums!
I am a Mortdale Mum to Be! Due on 6th July, we decided to wait to see if the little bean is shooting for the pink or blue team... its very exciting!

Skye2boysmummy - would love to catch up with you as you are the 1st local mum I'v come across! As soon as I can escape work on Maternity Leave I promise to meet up and let your little boys meet my baby rug rat, and we'll have fairly adult-ish conversations!

You'll be pleased to hear that there is apprently a Gloria Jeans opening in Mortdale soon! Wooow really going up in the world!
Have you seen the big icecream/smoothy place thats opened inside the Video shop, Mortdale is almost becoming modern! **gasp!**

I would love to do like a few day trips or something, shoot down to Cronulla and meet up with other Bubhub mums?? Engadine mums, would you be up for that?

Heres a little bit about myself.... I am Rachel, 26 y/old and 27 in 2 weeks time. I'm English and married Aussie husband in 2003, we took a 10 month backpacking honeymoon and arrived Aus in about April 2004. Bought a little cottage in Mortdale and have been seriously renovating for the last year and now I'm pregnant (so I can finally get out of all the renovations!!) House is 'Nearly' finished, but these things are always an ongoing project.

None of my family live this side of the planet, DHs family do but they are all a bit crazy (as most in-laws are!) Luckily MIL is quite chilled out and hasnt been interferring at all, so thats a plus I guess. My sis-in-law is getting married soon so luckily all the attention is on her :)

I'd better stop rambling... :ecomcity: Hear from you soon, Rachel. :)

I'm from Bangor which is near Menai AND Engadine AND Loftus AND Miranda....

Anyyhoo, if anyone wants to catch up at Burnum Burnum Sanctuary on Mondays at 10am let me know. I take 2 year old DS there to feed the ducks, and I can sit and watch him on the play equipment and not worry about roads/crowds etc
