Hi,
Firstly, to anyone out there who is pregnant, CONGRATULATIONS! It really is the most miraculous and special event of your life. I have two little bundles of joy (2 and 4) and this year I have begun my journey to become a midwife!
I am a first year Bachelor of Midwifery student at the University of Queensland. It is the first year the course has ever been offered in Qld so it is all very exciting!
As part of the course requirements, I need to follow-through with 30 women including two antenatal visits, labour and birth (if you're happy to have me there), and two visits in the postnatal period.
I do regular clinical shifts at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, so ideally I need mums who plan to birth at the RBWH. (The uni has set this rule for legal reasons). I live on the Gold Coast, so I'd also love to be able to be involved in the antenatal/postnatal care of any willing mums on the GC.
If you are interested please email me and I can give you more info on the follow-through experience and be able to answer any questions you might have.
Thanks for your time,
Lisa B
