Is it just me or are Snugglers nappies getting really bad??? I used to love snugglers, but for the past few weeks, I have noticed that they leak, and seem to 'sag' even when not wet, and that the crystals are leaking?! Is anyone else noticing this or is it just me??? What are Huggies like and Select like?? It's a bugger cause Snugglers are really good value... :(

I don't use disposables but I have heard that Huggies are having the same problem. On the other hand though I actually havn't heard anything bad at all about the Select nappies, only good things.:)

i bought a box of snugglers once and the first nappy i put on him leaked and was such bad quality just even looking at it compared to huggies.( i gave the rest away)
i never had a leaky nappy with huggies.
although this was nearly 3 years ago maybe they have improved their product by now... or maybe not i dont know.

I used to use Huggies but changed to Snugglers to save some money.
I use them at night and when we are out ( I use cloth for around home during the day )

I found the first couple leaked, was gutted and thought I wouldnt buy anymore. But then I had to use up the bag and none of the others leaked so I think there were a couple of faluty ones in that lot.
Huggies are definately the best, but just so expensive.
I think Snugglers are good value for money and will keep using them for now.
If you get a really bad lot, then ring the 1800 no and they will usually send you a free replacement pack.

Harmony83 you have got to stand up girl and if you get faulty items take them back or complain.

(ie I think it was you that had a skirt problem yesterday wasn't it)?

I have noticed the last few times I have bought Sungglers thay have leaked, and Tommy has had crystals all over him and they irritate his skin.

I reckon they're having a bad batch, hopefuly things will go back to normal soon :(

Huggies are fantastic but we just can't afford them, and our washing machine is playing up so can't use cloth nappies!

I think they're having a bad batch. That's going on forever!!!!!

Although this box there haven't been many crystal incidents, and only time they leak on me is when he does a really big poo and then wiggles in the highchair/pram so it moves the nappy.

I emailed Snugglers after I had 2 boxes of nappies that left crystals recently, they sent me a free box. The free box they sent me then left crystals everywhere, so I emailed again and got another free box! It helps to complain to these companies.

The 2nd free box had only a few crystal-leaving nappies though. But every box it's only been a handful of nappies not all of them, so I can live with it.

I've used so many different types in a bid to save money and I have ended up back with Huggies.
The Select ones were good for about a day and then we had leaks and rashes galore!!!
It all depends on you child though. Everyone has different experiences.
The next best to Huggies, for us, was the better quality ALDI ones ($15.99 for 56 toddler ones). The only reason we don't use them now is because the sizing became not right for O. He is sort of inbetween the two sizes now and I found they started to leak.
Good luck in your bid to find the right nappy!:)

I have found the new woolworths select nappies to be useless!
They are really thick compared to other and the grip tabs keep ripping.
I have had the same problem with snugglers in the past (3 yrs ago) so I guess they still haven't sorted out the problem! And they are made by Kimberly Klarke, the same ppl that make huggies, so go figure.
We have been using woolworths home brand, yes HOME BRAND for ages now and huggies for night time and we have hardly had any problems with them at all and they are the cheapest ones out there and most definitely NOT the worst. I would buy them over snugglers anyday! Give them a go I think the small pack is under $6 so it's not a great loss if you don't like them.

I have used Snugglers for all 3 of my boys and have never had a problem with them. Ash is the only one using nappies now (12 months) and I haven't noticed any recent problems. Like others have said, complain if you are having problems. You are paying good money for them.

I use snugglers in the day and huggies at night. I have never had a problem with crystals (only got them with baby love brand)

Did have a few leakage problems once but only in a few nappies out of a batch.

I agree with others 'complain'. I also got free huggies sent to me after having a problem with the tabs.

I do what jennasmum does & use snugglers during the day & huggies at nite or if we are going out & what to be safe.
But i have used snugglers overnite with no dramas but then ive also used them at other times with bubs ending up soaked top to toe. I was also not warned that having a boy meant you have to make sure the doodle :p (penis) points down heheh otherwise they wee upwards so the nappy cant do its job hehehe.
I used to use babylove & never had dramas with them either it was just the sizing was so weird & bubs being so big his bum would hang out the sides heh. Although i did have a friends complain about the crystals also but ive never experienced this.
Oh i also bought a pack of snugglers last week to find they have finally changed the grip tabs to the same as the huggies YAYAYAYAYA !!!! Makes life easier !
Oh & for some sneaky info girls & no i dont work for or have anyone i know who works for them but Toys'R'us are usually the cheapest for snugglers my local one has them at the standard price of $35 for the box whereas all the supermarkets have them for at least $38 but $39 is standard & they always have great specials on them so they are often $30 for the box !!!!! I find they usually have this special one every couple of months so we head in & stock up. Anyways thought you might find this info handy :D

Edit: Please shoot me i was having a mushy brain moment like usual :p when i wrote this i actually meant Huggies at Toy'R'us DER !!!! hehehe anyways as JulieXavier said BigW is good for cheap snugglers !!!!!

I find Babylove to be the best 'cheap' nappies for daytime. But nothing beats Huggies at night, they're definately the best. When I first tried Snugglers I thought they were useless, but as I went through the pack they were ok. Know what you mean about the crystal things though. I find that if the nappies are too big then that's when the leaking starts. I do think Huggies is definately the best and worth spending that extra money on for nighttime.

Try the Woolworths/Safeway home brand nappies!

They are a similar style to snugglers, have never leaked (unless over full:o ) on my kids and are really great value.

I used to use Snugglers, but had to buy an emergency supply while out one day at got the homebrand ones ... I have never looked back! They are also really great about taking any defective ones back ... I got a bag once where the grip tapes were cut during manufacture and I got a replacement bag as well as my money back! I have never had any other problems with them.

I buy the large size and it is $19.99 for 72 nappies working out to just under 28 cents a nappy. They are very absorbent and I have not found that they irritate my kids skin either.

Most of my friends have given up on their old brand of nappies and gone to this one after having their child use on of the ones I had (emergency change!) as it performed so much better than the brand they were currently using.

The only time we have ever bought Huggies was when Rylen was first born, we have used Snugglers with both boys but i have noticed that they seem to be leaking a lot lately. If Huggies weren't so expensive then we would buy them but Snugglers seem to be better value for money and we don't usually have any problems.
Baby Love and Bilo brand nappies are really good for us too, they're both really absorbant and both boys have dry bots after taking them off.

We use the coles or franklins brand nappies (depends on where we go shopping that week). We started with huggies, but I hated them (I think I am the only one in the world who does) I thought they were bulky and they leaked.

We then tried the snugglers, which we were really happy with, untill we found that they started to leave the super absorbant behind.

The franklins nappies have the grip tabs, as does the more expensive coles brand, and I find they fit well, I've never had a problem with them leaking, day or night and they don't leave gel behind.

Although huggies are the best :) Just too expensive for our budget!!:o

I bought a box of Snugglers and had a couple leak and vowed never to use them again. But then I remembered that I had to finish the box, lol  . Never had a problem since. We now use cloth in the day and a huggies at night, but if going out then snugglers during the day. A friends brother works for huggies and he confirmed that huggies make the bi-lo brand nappies, the ones in the red pack. they are exactly the same they just don't put quite so many crystals in there.

My SIL used snugglers with her first, but couldn't with her second. I think it all depends on your bub and what suits them best.

We have been having trouble getting the homebrand nappies so i am going through the period of testing th other brands to see what I like. I bought a packet of snugglers and they have been utterly useless! I ahd to go out last night and get another brand just to get us through the night as they were leaking and would not even hold a small poo!

Come on Woolworths .... let me know why i can't get my favourite nappies! My poor ds has a rashy bum now!
