Well after reading, reading , reading all your posts and advice I have decided to do it! I have ordered some nappies for DS from Nurture Nappies. The stash package, 5 assorted nappies; a Bumgenius Pocket, Tots bots Bamboozle & fitted, a Baby greens growing greens, an Itti bitti AIO and a Berry plush cover. Is that a good starting pack?
I can not wait to get them and try them out. I have been thinking about cloth for months now and used the old, “I can sell them on Bubhub darling, if I don’t use them” line to convince DP that it was a good idea! I am sure I will like them.
Are the one size nappies really one size? DS is 21 months and about 13kgs or so and number two is due in August. I am hoping that a couple of the one size nappies in the stash will be ok for DD when she arrives as well?
I will post in the fluffy mail when they come, it will be in two lots as Jayne did not have everything in stock, I am really too excited by all of this, DP thinks I am nuts, reading about Nappies every night on Bubhub!:smiliedance:

Sounds great!!
Now you just need the Baby Beehinds trial pack :D :D and you're set!!
Oh and a couple of great pockets- the Green Kids trial pack is cool too.
You'll love the Itti Bitti! I like the BP, but the snap-in inserts are what make it a great nappy to me, I don't really use it much as a cover. You can add the inserts later to expand your stash!

Ditto about ordering a BB trial pack!
I'm the opposite to pookiesossige in regards to BP's though. I prefer to use them as a cover rather than with the insert.

Thanks for the encouraging words girls!:yelclap:

i just wanted to say a BIG WELCOME to mcn's :yelclap: :yelclap: :yelclap:
I think that pack sounds great... I second the suggestion of getting a baby beehinds trail pack!
One size fits most is generally true - although if a baby is extra skinny or extra chunky than they might not fit the whole weight range that is suggested.

Thanks Jess! I am sure I will become as fanatical as some of you are!
I will definately get a BBB trail pack soon, is it a long delivery time at the moment? DS was a medium weight mostly and still is, although he was only 2.9 kgs at birth (thank god, I would not want to push one out any bigger! ) so I would think that some BBB's will be great for DD when she comes and DS.
I am looking forward to chatting more soon girls, I feel I know you already from all my reading!

:D It is great to chat to a new mcn-er, particually one who has done their research! Looking forward to seeing you around here more once your fluffy mail arrives!!
And feel free to ask ANY questions, no matter how silly you think they sound!!
I think on BB's website it says about a 4 week wait for the nappies.
Yeah I think BB has about a 4 week wait - this is my 3rd week of waiting for my trial pack. Can't wait to get it

Hmm I thought I read it was quiet a wait....they must be good to be so popular. Still I will have to wait to order some or I will get into trouble! :shame:
Pookiesossige, I must admit I have done a lot of research (thats just me, too organised sometimes!) and slowly I decided to have a go, then I had to work out what...I wanted to try all the different types of nappies to see what suited me, AOI's, pockets, fitted, goodnees it is confusing. This NN stash seems the best way to try lots in one easy order.
Livy I am due the 3rd of August, have I seen you around the August mums to be thread at all? Do you know what your having? Are you new to MCN too?
Chat soon lovely Ladies, kez
ohhh fun fun fun!! Its never too late too start, I have started putting my 3 year old in them at night recently (Also have a 4 month old).

Did the same thing :D  Kept a notepad and pen next to me and noted down what I read about different brands and the differences between pockets and fitteds and what brands were what... it was the only way for me!! Still confusing though!

Hi Kez - yeah I have seen you around the August thread too .... though I don't really post there too often. I have a few weeks to wait after you - around the 22nd. We are keeping bub's sex a suprise - I really wanted to know but DH wouldn't cave ... This is our first bub so I want to try MCN from the start - just getting my stash started early so I will have some to try in August. I can't wait :p How's things going with you? Do you know if this one's a boy or girl?
I agree that the NN pack sounds great . Good luck and welcome to the world of MCNs. There will be lots of opportunities to buy as time goes by...research is good!!..and it seems there is always a bit of innovation which makes another purchase inevitable!!

HI Girls,
My fluffy mail has finally arrived! Well 3/4 of the stash package, some are still on order. I love them already but they do seem a bit bulky in the crutch, is that normal?
Anyway I have a question, its probably a dumb one, but how do you hang up your nappies on the clothes line? (please dont respond grab a peg and attach to line with nappy inbetween!!) I mean is there a better way to do it to help keep the elastic in good condition. They can be quite a weight when wet...
A few more washes and then I will try them on DS, I should be right to give it a go on the weekend....:yelclap:
Yay for fluff!
Not a stupid question at all...I hang fitteds in half widthways, so that the elastic doesn't stretch. It takes longer to dry this way, but I think that is worth it to keep the elastic in good condition. Pockets I just hang any way - they are so light that I doubt it makes any difference. Gremily started a thread about that awhile ago - it includes a picture. Regarding the bulkiness in the crotch - it is normal I guess, particularly if you are comparing them to sposies. There are some nappies that have narrower crotches though :)

Yep me too! I find the inserts get all scrunched up, so now I just use it as a cover. But I love it anyway!
