I was thinking we could have a thread to show off the nappies, covers, woolies etc... we've made.

Kinda like the fluffy mail thread.

So I'll start, I've just made my second ever nappy.

It's an AIO with sewn-in microfibre and hemp layers, plus an extra lay in booster of microfibre and hemp again.

The outer is fleece and the inner is Winnie the Pooh flannelette.

I didn't follow a pattern so it's a bit dodge - but so far the fit seems to be ok.

Here it is:

White fleece outer- front (http://picasaweb.google.com/superstitiouspigeon/NewAlbum80407603PM/photo#5050970459360606962)

Outer - back (http://picasaweb.google.com/superstitiouspigeon/NewAlbum80407603PM/photo#5050970777188186882)

Flannel inner with sewn-in absorbancy layer (http://picasaweb.google.com/superstitiouspigeon/NewAlbum80407603PM/photo#5050971176620145426)

Made another AIO. But I don't like it, I made the 'arms' way too long so they need to crossover
(Decided I best use a pattern from now on!)

Anyway here it is: click! (http://picasaweb.google.com/superstitiouspigeon/UntitledAlbum02/photo#5053884415707987298)

 well done!

I like the idea of the cross over arm. Most of the nappies I have made for DD have them so we can get as much time out of them as possible.

Ok I have some more to show off :D

This time I used the Wee Weka S-M pocket pattern. But I made it wider between the legs and changed the shape of the arms on two of them.

This (http://picasaweb.google.com/superstitiouspigeon/NappiesIVeMade/photo#5058023196933302578) once is so much better in real life, it's gorgeous! The outer is a really soft microflece, hidden PUL, and the inner is a cheap plain blue microfleece. It's a pocket. It's for my SIL's baby but I so wanted to keep it for myself!

This (http://picasaweb.google.com/superstitiouspigeon/NappiesIVeMade/photo#5058023394501798210)one is funky! Flannel outer (I'm a bit worried about wicking), hidden PUL, and suedecloth inner. It's a pocket.
I wasn't happy about the stiching you can see on the front there, it looks really dodgy but I'm finding it hard to sew really neatly on the areas wehre you can see. Fleece is much better at 'hiding' messy stitching.

This (http://picasaweb.google.com/superstitiouspigeon/NappiesIVeMade/photo#5058025481855904114) one is a pocket (again!) that I made for Holchajam's bubba because her MIL has knitted me a pair of shorties and a pair of longies :D
WIth this one I put the elastic in casing, instead of it being hidden. I think it looks much better but it was a bit harder.
Here (http://picasaweb.google.com/superstitiouspigeon/NappiesIVeMade/photo#5058025872697928066) is the back, and here (http://picasaweb.google.com/superstitiouspigeon/NappiesIVeMade/photo#5058025091013880162) is him wearing it from the front. As you can see it's a bit on the small size so the next one I make him will be bigger. I stuffed up the tabs tho becauce I had to do them round because there was a bit of a chunk out of the fabric.

Ive been working on something really special today :yelclap:
I will post a pic tomorrow
