dd 2 and a half months has decided that she's not going to sleep during the day. its not too bad but she does get a little grumpy in the afternoons. she will have a feed and go to sleep in my arms but about 10 minutes........maybe half an hour if i'm lucky after i put her down she is awake (she might also stay asleep for about an hour if i lay in the bed with her). any hints or tips on how i can get her to stay asleep for longer periods or should i just leave it?

ooh I'd be laying down with her, if that gets her to sleep for an hour - it means YOU get an hours rest too!! :hugs:

The only predictable thing about babies is that they are unpredictable, this phase will pass. Rock her, cuddle her, perhaps try a sling? My boy slept heaps in a Hug-A-Bub when he was a wee one. And that leaves both hands free to do things that need doing.

It won't be long and those cuddles will be few and far between, so take them while you can get them :hugs: :hugs:

DS was like that at that age, so I just went with the flow, which meant I had an excuse not to finish the house work. He did grow out of it, now he only sleeps max one hour in his cot so I time my house work to one hour at a time :)

Absolutely, what the others said  Go with the flow. Sarah was the same at that age, she'd go almost all day without a sleep.

And now, oddly enough, after turning one she's been putting herself down for one long, sometimes two (if I'm really really lucky!) a day.

If your DD is happy enough to be awake and watching you, then I wouldn't stress about it too much :)
