View Full Version : bah nite nappy drama - will it end LOL
My boy is a SUPER heavy wetter!! His pockets used to work really good now they are soaked by midnite:thumbsdown: I even brought a pack of sposies to use but exactly the same:o
Im making some fitteds when i get my bamboo and nans knitting longies but what can i use for the next couple of weeks? BTW no $$ to spend :p
My bub wets through a lot as well. At creche, they put me onto boosting his nappy with a face washer. I bought a pack of baby face washers from Woolies (like $3 or something) and I simply fold one up and chuck it into his nappy. Seems to work well!
How many times does he feed at nigth? All I can suggest is changing him when he wakes to feed.
2-3 times, doesnt really 'wake' tho
Try putting a PUL wrap over a 'sposie. That way it won't soak through to his clothes and bedding. That is what we have to do with our 3 year old as he is toilet trained in the day but a heavy wetter at night. Tried cloth...leaked everytime. 'SPosies leaked most of the time too. We tried putting a PUL wrap over the sposie and he now stays dry......we are going to cloth again but waiting for a trial nappy from bekkyboo with a high rise. Can't wait!
i dont have any covers at all:no:

Do you have a fleece pocket?
I use microfibre - bamboo or hemp booster, hemp prefold and a fleece cover. Sometimes I add a snappied terry to the outside of the boosters.

what about using a pocket with out the stuffing as a cover
i think half his problem is he sleeps on his side so thats where it leaks
Only realised how heavy he wets the other nite when the fuzzi bunz leaked, its never done that before

maybe think about getting one? I got the Bummis whisper wrap and its great, it fits both my 4 month old and my 3 year old...so you will be able to use it a LOOOOOOONG time. Oh and I don't wash it everyday but when I do it dries almost instantly, ready for use that night again.
love to but im sooooo broke:( ill have a soaker in a week or so but till then
If you have any old woollen jumpers around, you could whip up a bum jumper:

If he's leaking because of sleeping on his side, then those BBBs would have been perfect Danielle!
Nothing absorbant in the sides of a pocket, hey... so I can't suggest any way of using them EXCEPT as a cover. Ariene has used her fuzzi bunz as a cover before.
A pocket with a bum jumper soaker over the top? with extra boosting in the bumjumper? And some maternity or normal menstruation pads tucked in the sides of the pocket nappy to help with side-sleeeping-leaks AND an empty pocket/bumjumper as an extra cover?
Hope you get it sorted!! :fingerscrossed: :hugs:
Oooh, that's a good idea lara! Or, does he have any fleece pants? You could put them on him, it might add another layer of water resistance :detective:
