Hi there

I have a whole heap of sample cermonies and readings etc if you want me to email them just PM me with your email address. If you go to my website (link is in my signature) and click on stories you will also be able to read my sons Ceremony. I organised his all by myself, we had a good friend do the ceremony rather then a celebrant - there are no legalities involved so we did it this way. If you have a celebrant they will do most of the organising for you.

I had my sons name day on the first of this month and it was beautiful. You dont NEED to have a celebrant but it helps you dont have to worry about putting the whole day together, or if you want to do it or have someone else in mind maybe meet with a celebrant and just get an idea of what they would do then decide if you still want to do it yourself. There is also little things you can do, we planted a tree for out son, and my partner and i lit a candle representing our son then one each for us, we then ased other to come light candles to surround us with love etc.

If you would like anymore ideas just pm me..
Goodluck and hope it goes as well as ours did:smiliedance:

The best place I found for information and ideas regarding Naming Ceremonies was the internet, just goggle “naming ceremonies” I found that there are so many options and ideas it can be over whelming at time.

Her naming ceremony could be a casual family affair soon after birth at home, with tree planting etc, on a first birthday in conjunction with her party or a more formal ceremony similar to a Christening.

For our son we have arrange a naming ceremony 8-weeks after his due dates so he will be between 6-10 weeks old. We are having a more formal affair, with just family and very close friends, total of 35 people. The ceremony will be at a non-denominational chapel (Broadway Chapel) in Brisbane. The ceremony, which include candle lighting and various no-religious readings/pomes and some music will be at 10.30am and last approx 30min in the chapel itself then photos on the nice lawns outside, followed by lunch at a Southbank restaurant
.
We are having two male guardians and one female guardian.

We have had to arrange and book so far in advanced as it will be peak wedding season, another thing you may wish to take into account regarding celebrants
