I've posted this on another site but have had no repsonses yet, so I'm hoping this may be the one.I'm just pregnant (probably about three weeks) with bub number two and I have had a terrible headache for over seven days now. I know this is common during the first trimester (due to raging hormones and also an increase in blood volume) but I spent all day yesterday amd most of today in bed.I don't/won't take drugs (panadol etc) cause that's not me but I really need some help and/or advice.Has anyone tried anything that has relieved this condition ? Although I don't take drugs I'm open to other ideas and suggetsions. Please help : ( I have a beautiful DH and a DS that need me up and about....not lying in bed all day !

Hi There I feel you pain!I had horrible headaches during pregnancy and still do.:gloomy:

The only thing I can suggest that works for me that is 100% safe in pregnancy is lavender oil rubbed into you temple. It must be 100% lavender oil not a mix.
Just rub into you temple and some on your pillowcase and this should ease you headache.
:fingerscrossed:
If this doesn't help it maybe best to see the doctor and get you blood pressure taken as it could be giving you the headache if it is too high.:hugs:
I hope you feel better soon.

You're an Angel, Angelbell, I was beginning to feel like I was helpless.I'm off to see my GP on Friday for confirmation of the BFP and will get everything checked out. But I've always suffered/had really low blood pressure so it will be interesting to see if this a contributing factor. Thanks again, I have some pure lavender oil....used in my son's bath so I'm off to apply some now. Thanks again ( I can't access smilies....so please insert big fat hugging smilie here)

I had REALLY bad headaches with ds enough that i ended up in hospital with it,i was put on a drip cause the doctor thought i was dehydrated and they gave me maxilon(which i found out i was allergic to) nothing helped.I was on panadeine forte it was that bad.

Anyway the only thing i found that worked was seeing a chiropractor i found out that my neck was out really bad which stopped the blood from flowing easily to my head which in return gave me a really bad migraine.

i often get bad headaches when im not pregnant but with both dd i suffered from headaches and had perfect blood pressure. some time a massage helped relieve pressure on my scalp, ive been suffering again panadol rarely even starts to dull it, my doc said a panadine tablet is the strongest i can take and i took them with both dd but it didnt always help. i had a badheadache last night i had a few tabs a very hot shower, my neck cracked, and i felt a little better. but this may help ive noticed if i dont have coffee my headaches are really bad i think im addicted to caffine!
