Is this eczema??

My Ds is 6 months old and has always had lovely soft skin. Just the last week or so he has started to get a few dry, scaly, red patches on his legs and arms. Some are only the size of a 5c, others a 20c. It is not in his creases but on the fleshy parts of his arms and legs, a tiny bit ob his tummy too.

Does this sound like eczema??? I have never had to deal with eczema before. What should I put on it?

My dd gets eczema and it only turns up in the winter.
She has had lovely smooth skin all summer but just this week I have noticed she is getting quite a lot of dry patches starting on her body.

I use papaw ointment as I find it really thick and protects her skin. It is very greasy though.

But a lot of people use different things. I think its trial and error really. Some products work well on some babies where they don't on others.
