View Full Version : Angelcare monitor going off....
Hi,
Just wanting to know if anyone else has their bub on an Angelcare monitor and it goes off sometimes? Is this common? Ours has gone off a couple of times, it usually stops before I make it to her cot though. I assume that she is just in a really deep sleep and breathing shallow/light? Her lips aren't blue etc... and she is breathing when I get there. I could turn up the sensitivity but not sure whether to or not?
Our Angelcare never went off once while dd was in it in the time we used it (around 1 year). I assume you have positioned the pads correctly etc?
Seems a bit strange, maybe the alarm jolts her a little bit more awake or something?
Trying turning up the sensitivity a bit. To test it just turn it on when your DD isn't in the cot and it should go off.
Does she wriggle around a bit?
Is is the full alarm going off or just a steady tick type of beep??

I'd turn up the sensitivity too and if it is still going off I'd get her breathing checked. My son's has gone off twice, the first time he was all tangled up under his blanket and I truly believe it saved his life because he was completely smothered by the blanket.

yip turn up the sensitivity, and check all the conections
mine went off when DS wasn't in the cot, and it was cause one of the connections had slightly come out

The only time ours has gone off is when DS (asleep) has managed to curl himself around the end of the cot and must miss the sensor. We only have the one sensor pad.

Mine's gone off quite a few times, and only once can I put it down to her being too far off the sensor pad...might adjust the sensitivity on mine as well...
