I just have to ask a real silly question...
What do u class as "sleeping through"..?

My daughter is nearly 2 weeks old.. but pretty much since she got home from the hospital she has the same sleeping pattern which is:

her lunch time sleep is usually 1pm till 6pm then she stays up for a few hours, has cuddles/feeds/baths and i eventually get her back down at about 10 or 11pm and then she sleeps till about 4:30 - 5am.

Would you class this as sleeping through? just curious
My other kids constantly woke up through the night, so not used to this much sleep with a newborn! haha

What triggered me to ask this questions is , my baby record book.. asked 'first time baby slept through the night' and i was sure if i should put it down as now.. or maybe wait as it might change.

Thanks

Firstly congratulations on your DD...
I think they class 'sleeping through' as 5 hours....

You are very lucky to have a bubs that sleeps that much already... My DS didn't 'sleep through' until he was about 3 months...And generally didn't sleep much during the day either..

thanks :p

Yeah, my other kids were the same.. took a few months to get any decent sleep!

This time around has been sooooo different. although she is a brilliant sleeper .. when she IS awake i pay for it! lol :D

she constantly wants to feed , and is grumpy till she gets to sleep again!
oh well i guess i cant complain too much huh!

Sleeping through is 5 hours but why it's so laudable in a baby, especially a newborn, I have no idea. Babies sleep how babies sleep. :)
