Hi
OK, I;m about to start making my first fitted nappy & would liek to make it out of mostly hemp. Is hemp ok to use for the lining? What sort of hemp material would be best for the lining - jersey or terry or french terry? Any other recommendations for type of material to use for lining?
thanks :)

I'm definitely no expert... but the baby beehinds bamboo that i've got is completely bamboo, they haven't lined it or the boosters with any other material. So maybe their hemp nappies are the same? I guess because the whole of a fitted nappy is for absorbing, you may not need to line it for performance. But maybe it would be for comfort? Hmm, not much help am I?

Hemp will be fine as the compete nappy then when you put it on bubs just place a fleece liner in there:thumbsup:
ETA - Hemp french terry would be the most absorbant out of the lot

Yep the BBB hemp are the same - entirely hemp :)

I was just wondering, which is hemp terry and which is jersey?
Which do GK hourglass inserts use, and which to BBB use for their hemp fitted?

Hey Phineas,

I think hemp jersey is a t-shirt type fabric, but made of hemp/cotton instead of just cotton. So I don't imagine it would be used for any nappies apart from lining?

Not sure on the difference between hemp fleece and terry - I think that BBH use hemp fleece (smoother type) and terry has a 'looped' surface like terry towelling? That's just a guess though. I'm sure zada knows though.

hemp fleece is the same as hemp terry, it has just been brushed to make it softer. If I was looking for comfort then Hemp fleece would be softer than hemp terry
