Have looked on 3 baby names websites and no luck finding Muthahassin. Only one that came close was Muthoni - Africian/Kenyan meaning unknown (how appropriate).
Where did you hear the name? Is it for a boy or girl?
Have done complete internet search and nothing came up for any such word (in case it was a word for something else not necessary a baby name).
Sorry I couldn't be of much more help.

Doesn't mean anything?
It doesn't sound nice though, so maybe my search has filters...
I think it's arabic or something. It's a boys name, and one of my friends who is pregnant hear it from somewhere and liked it, but she wants to know what it means.
It sounds a bit scary if you ask me, but I told her I'd do my best to find out what it means.

That probably explains why I thought it didn't sound nice...
I've probably heard it before, but in the grounds of my highschool...
I've got to honestly say though, if it was a name, there'd be an endless supply of bad nicknames to go with it
lol - you are so right!!! Just hoping someone out there will know what it means. Maybe then I can convince her to change it! ;)

I won't post my suggestions, but maybe you can say a few nicknames creatively derived from it... And then ask her how she's going to explain the name and reason for bullying to her child
lol - have to give it a shot.

There are quite a few really nice Arabic/African names. I wouldn't talk her out of the style but perhaps just the name itself?
She may have heard a combination of names and perhaps not clearly? Also, it's like common Australian names which we hear all the time but OS they are rarely found.
Musa - A son or to deliver. An Arabic form of Moses. (Actually Ancient Egyptian as this is the name carved into Karnak by Ramses II for his son Moses. Moses is the Romanised version).
Hasim - The decisive one.
Hassan/Hasan - Handsome and good.
Husain, Husani (Swahili), Husayn, Hussein - The handsome little one.
Plenty of 'normal' names are actually Arabic - Xavier for example! Good Luck :D
Wow - thanks Belinda! Helps a lot!

I think I looked it up correctly
Mutha (mouth) of the river
Hassin is strong (varient of Chassin)
Thank you all. I've let my friend know the meanings, and she was so happy that someone was able to find out for her. So many many thanks! :)
