Someone quoted me before Chloe was born about how much daycare would cost.
They said $400 a week!?

To the fulltime working Mumma's!
How much do you pay in daycare..
(Sorry if it's to personal!), would really like to know.

Thanks in advance!:D

I'm not too sure, but you will at least get 16% CCB from Centrelink... Regardless of income.

I guess if I didn't work fulltime, all the money i'd earn working causally would go towards daycare.

I pay $70 per day its long day care (you can drop them from 7am and pick up by 6pm, not that we ever do that - too long!). She has been going two days all last year which was perfect, now she is doing 3 i miss her too much!

Thats before the benefit, i save it for the end of the year...

yeah for me to be earning enough to actually live on, I would have to work full time. casual i would just be working to pay for daycare

Oh that's $350 per week.

I'm going to work real hard at finding a job fulltime towards July.
If it doesn't look good for me I will probably just give up!

a fortnight if i work 5 days a week. the best thing is, as a PT all I need to do is an hour long class everyday and a certain amount of 30 mins sessions. its pretty easy lol.

$290 a week if full time.
$65 per day if not 5 days/week.

That includes all nappies and food (except baby formula I think)

ok just realised, it would probably double if i was working fulltime cos i would lose the childcare thingy

I just started my DS in family daycare 4 days a week, and it's costing me $163.60 without even taking the CCB into account. If he was there 5 days a week it'd be $204.50. That's for 8 hours a day which is the minimum you can contract the carer for, even if you don't want your child there for the full 8 hours (my DS is usually only there for 4-6 hours, but we still have to pay for 8)

I haven't even calculated what the CCB rebate will be yet as it makes my head hurt :o so I'm doing it as a lump sum at taxtime.

Check with your local council if they have a family daycare program and get yourself on the waiting list! I was on the list for a year to get this place.

I pay $49 and day without the rebate from the goverment, full time is $252 without the rebate. Depending on your income to how much the goverment will cover! The more you earn the less you get.

Hi there! I recently went back to work and have put the little man in Family Day Care - this is a GREAT thing! Basically he is in another home with a fab carer who only has a few kids - he gets more attention than a centre PLUS it is cheaper. With the CCB rebate, I pay about $85 per week. He is in 4 days a week, all day. If you are interested, check out http://www.familydaycareaustralia.com.au/index.html for further info. You will also be able to find out how much CCB you would be eligible for by checking with Centrelink.
Going back to work was the hardest thing, but now it is great because he loves going to care every day so we are both happy!
Good luck with it!

We pay $53 per day which includes her meals and nappies.

We just pay the full amount and once we've done our tax returns we'll be entitled to something back depending on how much we both earnt. I think we get a minimum of 16% of the fees back.

You can have reduced fees throughout the year but as our incomes vary...........we're happy to pay full childcare fees and then get whatever we get back later on.

My DD's centre is $49 a day for under 2's. Doesn't include anything such as food or nappies. So that would be $250 a week for fulltime.

dh and i are on 48% and we pay 575 a fortnight. But that is having the girls in a centre 2 days a week and home daycare 3 days but only until 3pm on Fridays.

When they were just at home daycare it was $635 a fortnight. and the centre worked out to be $670.

I wish i could just stay home with the girls and same that money because at least 1/2 of my pay is on childcare..

We use family daycare and without the rebate we would pay $184.

Your rebate might be different because it goes on your income so I have just quoted you the full price.

This is for a for 5 days from 7.45 to 5.15. We don't use all of those hours but we have kept the fulltime spot in case I want to work overtime. I usually pick him up at 2.30.

I love the care he receives and we would gladly pay more, but that's what they charge so that's what we pay!

we got the spot straight away too. I don't know how we got so lucky. Just fluked it.

We will be paying $45 a day ($225 p/w) for full time care in a few weeks. DD will be going to a Montessori Early Learning Centre. This daily fee does not cover food, however, it does cover a cloth nappy service:smiliedance:

We pay $260 for 4 days a week, it would be about $325 for 5 days.
We supply all nappies, wipes and formula.

We also have to supply "basic" items twice a year, like toilet paper, hand soap and washing up detergent. I didn't know about this until after we enrolled DD .

Watch out for all the fund raising too. We donated Easter eggs for an Easter raffle and then had to sell $20 worth of raffle tickets!

Ahh yes...one thing I didn't mention in my post is that we have to pay a 4 week bond and 1 week in advance.

They'll get you where they can!

Ours is 66.00 a day but with our FTA i only pay 37.00 a day she only goes one day and its a long daycare, they provide all there meals, i just pack, 6 nappies, spare clothes, a hat, shoes and sheets and they make there beds and put them back in the bag when there awake. But i dont work she jsut goes for a social day out, she has actually started not wanting to leave and chucks tantrums :detective: i guess she likes it. She has learnt so so much from where she goes its amazing i am really happy with them, and i can tell she LOVES it, its good for there social skills and learning to. But its very expensive and usually not working works out better because it takes most of the wage to send them to daycare
