Itchy belly @ 37 weeks!

Hi all

Im 37 weeks this week and woke up this morning with an itchy belly. Its sort of itchy in one particular area and there are a few small red spots. I know I shouldnt scratch but its almost impossible. I know this sounds gross but i have had body pimples, even on my belly before. This is just unusually itchy and a little irritating!!

If it gets worse I might see the doc. I havent been exposed to anyone that has measles or chicken pox etc.

Anyone else have this?

I didn't get an itchy belly, but my best friend did. According to old wives tales - You're baby might have a lot of hair! Do you have intergestion (sp?) also?
I did tho get the red spots, but they were sweat pimples.
If you are worried tho, Go see your Dr.

Hi,

It sounds like something called PUPPS. I had it in late pregnancy also and it drove me mad until I saw my Ob. It is related to hormone changes in pregnancy and is worse when you are hot. I had to have baths in Pinetarsal and use Alpha Keri lotion that you buy from the chemist. It cleared up in a couple of days, but I had to keep the stuff handy because it can reoccur.

Hope that helps. Neither of those products are harmful to bub or pregnant ladies and are great for skin irritations.

I hope it settles down soon because I know how insane it was!

Im starting to narrow them down to sweat pimples as I have been exposed to a lot of hot conditions lately!! No I dont have indigestion, thank goodness! Thanks guys for your opinions Ill take them on board.

I had something similar at about 36 weeks. My obstetrician recommended calamine lotion, which worked beautifully.
