I've just acquired a few 2nd handies (wahm pockets), but they're velcro and it's pretty sad looking at that, I'm wondering if when I redo the swimwear elastic in them if it would be worth my while to unpick the velcro and get them snapped? Is this do-able? Also, would the holes from the thread make the pul leak?

you might get wicking...i have found some labels i get wicking around them. Same reason as you shouldnt use pins when sewing PUL cos it makes holes:yes:

That's what I thought

Maybe I could put a patch of pul on the inside to help stop that? I've used it, and even though B sleeps on her tum, we haven't had any wicking where the velcro is atm, but she has had compression leaking on the front of nappies before because of this, and we often have to boost the front of her nappies...

You could even leave the fuzzy velcro at the front on, and use that as your reinforcing layer for the snaps - wouldn't look all that flash, but you wouldn't have the wicking issue. You wouldn't get leaking on the wings anyway :)
