THURSDAY 17th AUGUST 2006
I was already a day overdue and getting very impatient waiting to meet my new baby boy.
I started to get a few contractions,but they were all over the place.I didn't really think much of it because of how far apart they were.
So when DP came home from work that day, he took me shopping and out to eat.He got me to eat at the new Curry House that just opened.Mind you i hate curry and never eat it. Nothing changed. We went to sleep.
FRIDAY 18th AUGUST 2006
When i woke up that morning my contractions were a lot more together 7 min, 3 min, 10 min, 4 min. Not like the day before which were 20 min, 1 hr, 30 min, 45 min, 2 hr, 3 hr.Nothing else happened.
SATURDAY 19th AUGUST 2006 :banghead:
When i woke up that morning about 11am OMG!!!! It really hurts.My contractions were getting even closer and more together. Now they are 6 min, 4 min, 15 min.So i called the hospital and they said to give it a more time and call back in a few hours. Apparently i wasn't in enough pain to warrent a hospital visit yet.
So i gave it more time.My DP and my mother were calling every 10-15 minutes to make sure i was ok and baby didn't just pop out on the floor since i was told not to go to hospital.
So about 4pm i called the hospital back again like they said, but nope i don't sound like i'm in enough pain yet still.Call back in a few more hrs i was told again.i was in so much pain i felt like i wanted to die.So i gave it yet a few more hrs until my mother finished work and came over and saw what a state i was in.
It's now about 8pm-ish.And im climbing the walls.I call back again....
Yeah!! They said i could go in BUT.... I would probably be sent home anyway (i think they were just sick to death of me calling)
So i call DP at work(he still has 3 hrs till he finishes work) he askes his boss if he can leave.His boss had the hide to say that he needed him to stay.Even though i was going to have our baby.DP leaves anyway and comes home.
It felt like the longest 15minute car trip ever.I was in so much pain and my mother was driving like a rally driver round corners.
Then we got there and they made me wait in the corridor for about 20-30 minutes until someone would see me.By that time i could barely walk.
I was on the monitor for about an hr then a really nice dr came in and said you aren't going anywhere, you're going to have your baby.Your already 2 cms dialated. I couldn't believe it.Only 2cms.Are you kidding me!!and im in this much pain already.They gave me the Gas and settled me in for the night.
SUNDAY 20th AUGUST 2006 happybirthday
I barely slept a wink. The drs were checking me all the time and at about 8am they said are you
ready to have your baby?
Of course im ready.I've been ready for days.Let's go.The gas was ****,i felt like i wasn't in control and i hate that.
The midwives came in and got me to start pushing. It was not working, i was so tired and getting annoyed.So they gave me an epidural and i continued to push.Still not working. Baby didn't want to come over the pelvic bone. They called for a dr to come,but in the mean time i was to keep pushing.
Baby was getting distressed after another hr-ish of pushing.Then at long last the dr came in and tried, but took notice of my and my babys state and said to pump me with more epidural and get the stuff for Vacuum Extraction.
I was given so much epidural that i didn't feel a thing.I didn't feel the episiotamy ar anything. I didn't even know that babys head was out untill i heard everyone say "he's so beautiful" I looked down and there he was. dr let me reach down and help to pull him out after he unwraped the cord from his neck and then he let out a massive cry. It was the best thing i had ever heard. Me and DP burst into tears and couldn't stop smiling.
And that was it.
I spent 5 days in hospital and bubby was there for 2 weeks in ICU.
Alls well now.
