View Full Version : i think he is constipated???
my ds (6mths) is on soy formula and yesterday and today i gave him banana custard and didnt realise that it contained full cream milk and he has had a really bad tummy ache all day, he was really chucky this morning and he now seems to have a sore tum. he has dirtied two nappies today but the first was quite small and both smelt horrible but they were like rocks, i have heard that is classed as constipation in babies but not sure what to do to help him. any ideas would be helpful. i feel like such a fool for not checking the label!:crying:
Try not to be too hard on yourself.:hugs:
You could try some diluted prune juice in a bottle with some cooled boiled water(20mils juice to 60 mils water) also the Dr once told me when my DS1 was like this to try some brown sugar (just a teaspoon) in some water in a bottle will work too.
Some people swear by pear juice as well. The prune juice though should definatley work.

If you want to relieve him fast go to the chemist and get coloxyl drops! They work wonders and quickly!!!! DS use to get constipated alot when he was younger and I found the drops the best. Prune juice didnt work for us...I found pear juice was better then the prune juice..
With the coloxyl drops you just put them in bubs bottle or juice or water etc.
Dont feel bad either....:hugs: He will be fine.
thanks heaps for the advice, had a crappy night with him but i expected that. he seems a lot better today and has dirtied one nappy and it was quite a bit softer than yesterdays. i was talking to a gf last night and she said her son used to get blocked up from bananas so it could have been a bit of both. (wont be making the mistake with milk again though)
thanks again for advice
My dd is on soy and dairy free formular and when we was trying to introduce soilids i stupidly tried custartd also she was the opisite she got the runs and puked more than usaul for days i felt so bad but then i though we all make mistakes
