I am just about to finish off my 2nd Cuddlebuns nappy:yes: but I'm not sure what thread will look best.
I don't have a "natural" colour overlock thread. I have white or red. The nappy has red snaps and little red bugs on it...
Which colour should I go for?

Funny hey! I would have gone white. I'm sure both will look great though.
It's beautiful! Go for RED!

Nope, got the bamboo from Celtic cloth and the print fabric is from good ole spotlight :)
I'm leaning towards red... I just don't want to overwhelm the print ya know? Think I'll have to sleep on it, Thomas is having his night time boobie and will want to cuddle for a while.
That's a good point... I think it looks great as it is, so white would keep it looking the same, kwim...

Before I saw the pic I would have said red, but after seeing it I think white would look best. I think red might take away from the gorgeous print.

Where did you get the pattern? And do you have a snap press machine, or is there another way of putting the snaps in?
I'm making my own nappies at the moment and hate the idea of using Velcro/Aplix.
I'd use white thread, the nappy is gorgeous but I think red would be overkill.
I would use White thread too.. If only I could sew
then why does it have a cuddlebuns tag? Im confused sorry. do you make them for the company or something?

:) The cuddlebuns pattern comes with about 6 tags for you to sew on.
I have decided to do one in both colours now! A friends bub is turning one so I'll make the exact same for her daughter. I've spent this morning cutting out more peices. And cut up some fabric for a camo style nappy as well.
We're just breaking for a boobie. I could happily churn out lots of these if my young man weren't such a clingon. I love having a cuddle with him though:yes:

someone asked where the pattern is from- I got mine on Ozebaby.
Has anyone got a poochies side snapper? I'm wondering if it's worth getting that pattern too.
Oh wow it looks great - nice work!
I say red too, to go with the red snaps. If the snaps were white, then I'd go for white thread.
Are they easy to make? I'm getting Mum to make some for me - can't wait!:smiliedance:
PS do you have a snap press or did you get someone else to do the snaps for you?
ah ok. silly me. looks great though :D

My gorgeous MIL got me the snap press,I was gushing on the phone about how great the naps with snaps are and how I'm saving for my own press, and she said get one now!
They are really easy to sew, I'm in love :D
your mum will have no problems making them. The booklet is really comphrensive, foolproof really - I only took up sewing last year.

All done... well one is! I still have to add snaps but it's cuddle time again. Thomas made it hard to take any pics but here's one of them. I started with red thread and right away it looked wrong! So I unpicked and did both white after all that.

Wow - it looks gorgeous! Well done :yelclap:
So how much did the pattern cost you?
And what is the outer, is it fleece or something else, and does it need a cover?
Looks fantastic :D

Pattern was about $29 I think.
The outer is just a childrens knit fabric from spotlight, but it has inner layers of bamboo french terry, and the inner itself is bamboo velour. The snap in boosters are bamboo french terry and bamboo velour. I'm going to wash them once more to fluff them up. All the fabric was prewashed, but you can never pre wash too much, right?
Yes they do need a cover. That's next on my list. Making my own covers. And possibly buying a few pairs of longies.
Thanks for the advice ladies  I'm totally in the grip of cloth nappy addiction now!
It is gorgeous!! How much do you reckon it cost per nappy for material - and how long does it take to make one nappy?

well the velour was $20 for a metre, the terry 9.95USD. The print was $10 for a metre, and the snaps- I have no idea as they were all part of a package deal. but I've gotten 5 nappy cuts from the velour including cuts for inserts, so that's fairly decent value. oh and my off cuts I have spent time playing with to make pads. But I don't get a period for the first two years of breastfeeding usually so they'll wait awhile before being tested!
Wow, that sounds alright, doesnt' it....Regarding AF, you are one of the lucky ones - I got AF back after 12 weeks, I guess that was the trade off for my baby sleeping through at 8 weeks old :( ... feel free to send some my way ;)

 Just found this thread
The nappy is even more gorgeous irl and Carla is wearing hers now. It lasts easily overnight with a hemp booster and wool cover.
Thanks foxy!!! You're a very talented woman!!
