ovulation frustration

Hi gals

Last month i couldnt pick up when i ovulated on the opk. but when i marked the day that two lines came up (one dark and one faint) that was 13 days before my last AF. Was that just a fluke? i know two lines in different shades mean negative

Hi Belle,

I'm having trouble with OPK's too. This is my first month of using them and I've gone five fays in a row only getting one line...

Does this mean I'm ovulating late or they're just not working for me? If it's the latter, should I try a different brand or assume that OPK's and I don't work?

This TTC business is tricky!!

Hi Belle,

I think some time Opk can't be reliable all the time. I read in one of the artical that if you BD 3 times a week the chances of conceiving increases. Opk will be an add on advantage for your TTC.
Taking BBT also helps to conceive .

This time i will try to BD three times a week i hope it help to catch my eggie.I am charting BBT and is not taking too much stress during TTC. I hope it help me to conceive and you too .

I have thought about BBT but this month I am going to give it a miss - not enough dosh! spent my budget on OPK's LOL.
Hopefully this month the OPK will have a positive test for me.

Have you tried the billings method? Basically you chart you mucous to determine when you are ovulating...

I just got a copy of the Billings method from the library. I have started to read more on the subject, it is quite interesting and...ewwwww. one of those necessary evils..hehehe:yes:

I'm using OPKs at the moment and yes it can be difficult to detect the surge according to some of my friends who are OPK addicts!

One friend of mine got a bulk lot of OPKs and was testing 3 times daily until she found the darkest tests were ones she did between 3-5pm.

Its not like a preg test where first morning pee is the best time, it builds up in your system during the day and apparently peaks late avo, and only hangs around for a few hours. You have to test not only the right day but right time for you too!

(Thank god I have 70+ tests!:o )

I hope I'm not boring you all with stuff you know, I just found this out myself so thought I'd share!
