Morning ladies, did the storms yesterday afternoon course any troubles for anybody else. We lost power from 3pm and it didn't come back on till 12.26am this morning. We had a roast dinner cooking, had to finish it and have dinner down at the in-laws. I've been waiting all year to watch carols and then this happens. I'm glad it wasn't next Saturday. My son woke up early at 4am yesterday morning he only had 1hr sleep yesterday. spent all day trying to get him asleep and just got him to sleep. Then the power goes off,we have air-con in our bedroom where he sleeps in his got. So it wasn't a great night last night either. Came home from in-laws at 8.30pm as they get up early to do sunday markets and we came home to pitch darkness. we only had 2 candles and a torch.

Hi,

We only lost power for about 30 seconds at work in Kallangur yesterday @ approx 1pm (well the part of Kallangur that I was in). However when I got home at 4.45pm the clocks were flashing and had come back on 2pm.

We went swimming in works pool right after the heavy downpour had gone (and the lightning of course, lol).

It was just great, thank goodness I work around the corner and it has a pool we can use anytime we want, cos believe me, yesterday we wanted!!!!

Hi girls,

I was at my mums place at Burpengary and saw it coming so I flew home down the freeway only to hit the storm head on! It was so hard to see anything and my car was being blown all over the road. It was a bit scary and I had the most whopping contraction I think because of my fear. I made it home and we hadn't lost power.
My mum phoned me in tears about 20mins later and said her roof pitch cracked and her house got a wall of water running through the middle of it! She phoned SES and they couldn't put up a tarp because it would only fill the roof with water again if there was another heavy downpour. So poor mum had soaked carpet, lino, no power and a big insurance claim ahead of her. She saw a sparky today and he said there was no water in the electrical cables in the walls or roof so she had power again by lunch time today. I had rushed back up there after she phoned to get all her fridge and freezer food and brought it back to my house. So tomorrow I will return it all to her. Well thats my crazy adventure for yesterdays storms. LOL and hugz...Kathy.
