Quick question..........

Can I use polar fleece trackies as a nappy cover for flats and fitteds?? Remember reading something about this somewhere.............

I don't see why not because I saw polar fleece longies for sale earlier today somewhere!

I can't use wool on my DD because she has eczema and wool is an irritant.

I have been advised to try polar fleece trackies eg. the Bonds ones, although I havent tried them yet:fingerscrossed:

I'll give it a go then! They just sit in the bottom of the drawer atm for emergencies - they're a bit daggy!lol! But for around the house with flats, who cares!! I don't think they are great quality fleece though(mil picked them up somewhere cheap!) so we'll see.

Yes! I've posted about this before - I use Bonds polar fleece trackies as longies over fitteds during the day. No leaks or dampness yet, they work a treat

Haven't tried them at night yet but with cooler nights coming up will probably try it shortly...

Good to hear! My mum just bought ds a pair and is sending them on monday with our easter stuff......he,he,he, more fluffy mail!!! Have you used them on car trips? Will I get compression leaks? Curious about fleece in general really as I havn't used it yet. Thanks!

Haven't used them on a long car trip so I can't say about compression leaks...would imagine that it could happen though, as most fleece is a bit prone to it.

Oooo but you have those gorgeous Llamajama longies you won at an auction- they would be my choice over fleece anyday!!

Regarding the OP, I guess if it has none/very little cotton content, it would be fine, as cotton wicks. I'm not a fan of polyester against skin though (over a nappy is a different thing).

Fleece isn't waterproof, but is very much water-resistant. It's a good thing- helps with air circulation. But makes fleece prone to compression leaks at times. The better the fleece though, the better it works- Malden Mills fleece (300wt and WindPro) is just so amazing- it is worlds away from the fleece used in clothing.

The only place I've seen the Bonds polar fleece trackies are at Myer. They seem to have the full Bonds range rather than Big W or K-mart who just have bits and pieces of the range.

I would assume they wouldnt want to mark it up too much more than the other stores or nobody would buy it. From memory I think they were around $15, definately no more than $20 but I cant recall the exact price.

Also, I'm in Adelaide and various states could differ. They probably have them in your local K-mart. My local K-mart is pathetic.

You could also try ebay and see if you can pick up a pair a bit cheaper:idea:

LOL but they're still a little bit too big for him - just waiting for him to grow into them! They're also really heavy wool so it's been a bit hot for them yet. Bring on winter :D

BigW at Miranda is where I got mine. Not sure if they sell out fast though, the last time I was there they seemed to have heaps of everything for winter, so maybe they'd just restocked...that was a month or two ago now.

I have a good quality snowboarder pair which I picked up at an op shop.
I prefer wool of course cos Av has mild eczema so I prefer natural materials.

My mum is in Perth and she managed to get the bonds pants in her local Best and Less. I think it's pot luck with where you can get Bonds stuff, nowhere seems to get it in very big lots and they sell out really fast - I always seem to miss out!
btw - I tried the el cheapo 100% polyester polar fleece trackies I had over a terry flat this morning. They worked fine, not even a bit damp on the inside and no smell. However, I wont be using them over a flat again though, the nappy ended up a bit skewiff!! They'll be good over fitteds though.

I was out shopping the other day and saw the cute new Bonds polar fleece trackies at both Big W and Best and Less.
If anyone wants me to get them for you and send them to you I'm happy to do so :)
