Were you on the tablets or that yucky drink stuff i've heard oh so much about lol ?
I took the blackmores tablets for 3 months. Had horrible mood swings at first but they settled down, regulated my cycles beautifully but didn't solve my short LP issue.
Has worked for many women I know personally who had been long term TTCers, I gave my 'left over' tablets to a firend who'd been trying for ages and she got her BFP first cycle on them. She's now 31 weeks pregnant, we're still trying.

I took the Greenridge capsules...that liquid looked a bit strange to me.
I took them for one cycle. We didn't conceive in that cycle and I was a crying, weeping, freak girl the whole time. They did something very odd to my moods. Stopped taking them and conceived the following month!

Hi Katherine
one thing I'd bear in mind is that every woman is differant and metabolises medications (pharmeutical or herbal) differantly, so each individual women's respones to Vitex will be somewhat slightly altered from your own.
I've taken both the capsules and liquid....the first time around I took the capsules and got a faint BFP after only 14days, unfortunately I miscarried shortly after.
The second time I opted for the liquid extract - after hearing so much about it - and I had my longest cycle ever 90 days+ and failed to ovulate even once during that time.
I did think that the capsules (natures own - i think - Vitex angus castus 1000mg capsules) were better than the liquid, but after going 90 days+ previously I wasn't about to waste more time taking herbal preps that did absolutely nothing....It was time for me to call in the BIG guns getting assistence to move forward with our dream of having a baby with the help of our FS.
Good luck in your decision, this way it will be an informed one. All the best to you Katherine
I took vitex on the advice of a herblist.
i took it for 3 months then 3 months off it then 3 months on... i was taking the liquid as it is absorbed faster... it worked brilliantly, my non existant cycles regulated, i started ovulating every now and then..... but it gave me head aches... and mood swings...
i didnt get preg on it, but it did wonders for my cycle (iv been off vitex for 6 months or so now and my cycles are still good!!)
I took it once last month at the start of my cylce and threw up and felt really sick, so I stopped taking it. Ended up getting pregnant that cycle so didn't need to try it again...

Just wanted to say thanks for posting this question - I too have PCOS and was wondering if the vitex would make a difference. I would love to hear how if affects your cycles. I don't O or get AF at all as a rule (without being on the pill or having FS help). I have had ovarian drilling done in 2000 so hopefully the effects of that are still effective - if not I would like to try vitex if I don't get af myself.
:fingerscrossed: for you.

aden,
I took the capsules for about 2 months a while back and it did nothing for me, but I have read that it often takes 3+ months to work, so I prob didnt give it enough time. Good luck to you! :)
