Hello,

This could be way TMI and I apologise in advance, but I need to be proven right!!

My husband and I were having a semi-serious discussion last night about whether there is a correlation between conception and female orgasm. I seem to recall a documentary where a fibre optic camera was placed inside a woman as her an her partner BD. When she had an orgasm her cervix "dipped" down into the waiting spermies, thus giving them a greater chance of getting to where they need to be. For want of a better description it looked like a chicken having a drink (I live on a farm so almost all my analogies relate to farm animals..sorry)

I haven't found much info relating to this issue, and was wondering if anyone had stumbled across it anywhere. I want to prove it to my husband to support my argument that he needs to work a bit harder on the job...just joking.........well sort of anyway!!!!:o:o:o

I remember reading that in a few pregnancy books when TTC. I remember thinking that if thats what it took I'd never get pregnant!

I always used to raise my hips and lay very still for 10 minutes instead!!

nothing is TMI on bubhub lol

I find it really hard to O during sex, i still enjoy sex but i find it hard to get to that place to have a O.
So when my partner is done, i usualy do it myself lol or my DF helps me :)

wow now that was TMI lol

Yes - there certainly is!

When you orgasm your cervix dilates; essentially 'sucking up' extra spermies. The more spermies that get inside - the more chance there is of the eggie getting fertilised :)

Def true. However my current preg was definitely conceived without one (conceived during the crummiest It-Is-Time-Must-Do-The-Wild-Thing-Now-You-Have-5-Minutes-Get-Cracking-I'm-Late-For-An-Appointment Sex ever performed - ironically I was late for a fertility specialist appt  ). So it can happen without one ;)

What an hilarious discussion!

OK this is probably against your argument but... Funnily enough, I O pretty much every time we BD. But last time when I actually fell pregnant was the only time in all those TTC months that I didn't O! Like Duchessa it was one of those 'we really have to do this so let's just do it' times.

But yes I would think that all those 'ripples' would be for a purpose. The trouble is, wouldn't the male have to deposit his gang just before you O for the whole thing to coordinate properly? Sounds like a logistical issue!
