i also have $100 to spend, but am a new MCN fan!

i have just ordered baby behind hemp and bamboo fitted, wool cover, normal cover...
which i havent tried yet:(

i am now after something different

i like the sound of the BP as (if i am correct) they dont need to be changed at each wet nappy, it is only the insert that gets changed??

i also like the look and trimness of the bumgenius, but not sure if that will be annoying changing the whole lot at each wet nappy (because i will only be getting a couple at this stage).

any suggestions to ad to a very basic stash??

Oh, and with the NC pocket (or any other pocket with a PUL outer and fleece inner really) if you want you can just change the stuffing at wet nappy changes - they also dry quicker which is good for a small stash :)

Oh!!! BTW - took me no time at all to spend the $100 in the end - ended up getting the Sugar Peas cover from Kimbaleo, and hopefully two more BBB from Stellaj!!!! Then I'll just need to get one more cover, and we'll be right for nights!!!

Really? I've always been under the impression that because the inner gets wet, the whole thing should be washed. Wouldn't urine/dampness left in the fleece or suedecloth lining irritate the skin? Spose it makes MCN cheaper though.

I too don't re-use the berry plush cover, I just chuck it in the wash as the damp cover might get a bit iffy if re-used IMO. But if it was a little wee or a poop and it didn't go anywhere other the the snap-in inner, I'd just snap a new one in, I guess.

It's great that you are going for quality- it really pays off when it comes to MCN!! Cheap nappies are often false economy in the long run.

Now I'd grab a GK trial pack for a go with pockets  :D

With fleece (not so much suedecloth IMO), the fleece acts as a barrier of sorts - the urine wicks through the fleece and is absorbed into the boosters, while the fleece remains dry to the touch, so nope, no irritation.

That said, I change the whole lot at every wash because I prefer to (and I have a zillion nappies), but at times where I have been caught out while out and about, I have made do by scabbing an old facewasher off someone and just using it to replace the stuffing :)
