Just curious how many use and like them... while I am deciding which way to go...

Do I need a cover for them??

.otherwise which is your favourite???

You don't need a cover.

I have heaps of Peapods. They are ok I guess but I much prefer something with a funky print such as Green Kids or Happy Heinys.

They were the first MCN I ever bought and I still have them even though I've culled heaps of other stuff.

Cheap but reliable. Nice coulours. No cover needed. Stuffer is great although is freying at the edges after the 20+ times I've used them. I often use the stuffer with other nappies because I like it so much.

 from me

I bought a peapod to check it out. My other pockets are bumgenius. There is no comparison - the BGs are so superior in quality. I have never had a leak. Whereas the peapods spring a leak almost every time. I think it may be to do with my bub's physique? What happens is that even if the nappy is fresh, when she does a wee it just spurts out of the side or top of the nappy.

I have tried using the microfibre insert instead of the hemp and that improves things a bit.

Also my peapod is white, and after only a few months of infrequent use the pul looks very gray and old.

I don't think it's worth the monetary savings - invest in a BG or greenkids and you'll get your money's worth.

I can't say i do like them. Yes they are a cheaper option (money and performance wise) of MCN but i guess i have expensive taste :p

I like them - they fit bub well... but you can definately see the quality difference between a peapod and, say a greenkids pocket for example. The only way you will know is buying one and trying it for yourself!

BTW, my bub is 6months old and the small is almost on the tightest snaps, so there is absolutely no way they would have fit at birth!

For a good basic pocket nappy I prefer BumGenius v2, but for the price (and the snap fitting) then PeaPods are OK. I know you get what you pay for but I don't use mine often as I have a large nappy rotation, so haven't noticed the quality issues that some other Bubhubbers have mentioned.

Pluses: I like the little wetbag as it's handy for going out, and I like the Peapods boosters as they're trimmer than most trifolds, although I prefer shaped inserts. I'm curious to try a Peapods Bamboo now to see what they're like, love my bamboo!

I have never tried the Pea Pods but my favourite similiar type nappy would have to be the Greenkids! Good quality and fit from birth to toilet training (in most).

I really wanted to love Green Kids but TBH they just don't fit my DS as well as the BumGenius for a basic day to day pocket. But yes I do adore GK Funtimes for their funky prints, for those times when I want to show off his butt!

You know what's funny - I had the opposite, the Bumgenius just never did fit my DS well:p

If this thread had popped up a few weeks ago, I would've said yes, I like them. But  not anymore. The quality is just not up to the standards of other brands. I won't be getting another. I'd prefer to spend an extra (less than) $10 for one that will last the distance. The stitching is starting to come apart, and the PUL has got little pulls in it. I'm not a sewer either, so can't mend it. JMO :D

I'd go for -

GK
Bumgenious
Happy Heiny
Swaddlebees Organic Velour (not for a chubba bubba)
Again, JMO :D

I wouldn't have been able to go full time in cloth without them. I have seven, one for my little boy and six for my big boy. I also got them on sale when they were selling off the old style. The thing i dislike the most is the inserts, but they have bamboo ones now which sound a lot better

They are very cheap for what you get. They will last long enough for you to build up your satsh with more expensive nappies later

I have two GK aswell, and one of those the PUL is laddering, so it's wearing too.

I suppose as with all products, some people just have bad experiences... You could pay 100k for a luxury car, and still buy a lemon! Hoop's tried 7 with no probs, and I've tried 1 with probs... so maybe bite the bullet and get one. You may love them and grab a bargain :fingerscrossed:

Any nappy is going to wear out with a lot of use, I figure even if you get 150 washes out it, thats still half the price of a box of sposies

I am only new to mcn and have only tried 3 different types of nappies so far. The first lot of peapods I got were preloved and I have since purchased 2 more and will probably get more still! I really quite like them. The medium fits my 2 year old and 5 month old well, with heaps of room for growth. I have had no leaks, just a littel wicking on a new one but I think that was because I left it on too long and the insert is yet to reach its full absorbancy. I personally really like the materials they are made from, I find them really soft and kind of stretchy. The only downfall for me is the limited choice of colours and I think they need extra snaps to prevent wing droop (see how I'm using all the technical terms, haha!). Oh, and I like the dark coloured fleece inside, hides stains!!

I like them  I bought 10 of the old style ones when they where on sale & they all have plenty of life left in them after being used on a daily basis over the last 10 months. I find they have the best fit of all my pockets including GKs, bubba Js & a couple of different WAHMs.

The only pocket we liked (tried GK, bum Genius). Good value for money
I much prefer fitteds though as I am too lazy for stuffing pockets:o

I like them! Definately good value when you are just getting started. They are not the main part of my stash, although i think i 'll be getting some more soon with the bamboo inserts. I did have a few leaks to start with, but that may have been the hemp not reaching it's full absorbancy. I also boost sometimes with a BBH or GK booster - and never had a leak since doing that.

I dont like them . They always leak.

I find you have to boost with a microfibre insert with the hemp, and they are fine

I have one peapod and really like it! One of DH's faves too... I think that you do get what you pay for, and I wouldn't be able to get the time out of them that I can with some others (But don't like to leave her with a wet bum for long anyway! ;)).

However, they fit Rhianna REALLY well, and I think they're cute! Love the snaps and wetbag bonus

I will someday (LOL) invest in more!! :D

I dont mind my peapods (only have two lol, it was my first MCN). It works well, I have even used it overnight. Just be careful with your colour choice......the cream one with chocolate fleece is nice. THe red one is not so nice....and the logo on the back came off first wash. not that that really matters.....
