clomid advice! :)

What time of day should i take my clomid? i want to ovulate in the pm half of the day. so should i take it around lunch time??? i also dont want heaps of side effects:barf: .

Hi ains, I would take it at night as it's the first time you are taking it I gather and you're not sure how you will react. You don't want to be at work and be a hormonal wreck! I haven't been on clomid but was on letrozole, I didn't notice that many side effects other than really sore boobs. I don't think what time you take it affects what time you will ovulate, so take it whatever time you feel comfortable. Good luck! Hope this is the month for you

My FS recommended to take it just before going to bed to minimise you feeling any side affects.

Regardless of when you take it you cant control when you Ovulate so I wouldnt be basing your decision trying to do this. The only way you can kind of pinpoint Ovulation timing is by having a trigger injection when you have a mature folicle which will trigger the release of the egg about 36 hours later.
I hope you are seeing a professional who is monitoring your progress though.
Just BD every second day around the time you are expected to O and you will catch the egg, sperm can survive in there for at least a couple of days remember!

I also take my clomid at night to minimise side-effects. Although when my FS increased the dosage for this cycle, he told me to split the dose by taking 50mg in the morning and 50mg at night....about 12 hours apart, also to prevent side-effects.

I've had alot more side-effects on this dosage than I did with 50mg; but then again I didn't ovulate on 50mg either...so it's all relative isn't it!!
