How Long???

Just a question... How long should a baby be in a Cradle for? My bubs 10 weeks old, 60 cm long and 5.5kg (12lbs2oz)

Hi... my little boy is one...

I really just went by length... as soon as my little one looked a bit cramped I moved him to the cot.

They then look so tiny in the cot!!! But he transitioned well with no problems.

With DD#1 I put her in cot around 4wks - no length reasons.

However with DD#2 as she doesn't have a room to call her own she is in the bassinette. But only today DH and I were talking about putting her in a porta cot as she is really throwing and kicking and we are worried she might fling herself over the edge and fall. (She is still small enough to fit it she just wants to try and fly I think).

BTW - can't put cot up as no room - have to wait until we move into our new house - can't wait for Bec to have her own room! At moment she sleeps in our room during the day then computer room during the night.

DD is still in her bassinette, mind you it's an extremely large old bassinette (I was in it at one stage!!).
I'm just going to go on height, and then of course I'll have to buy a cot and make room for it.. I think she'll be a couple of more weeks in there.

btw the sides are quite high (imagine a basinette practically a metre long!)so never been a problem when she kicks up a stink.
