When Do You Baby Shower?

What's the traditional time?

I ask this because my big sister is moving to Ireland for a year in April and I'll be about 6 months then, but she's coming to Brisbane for a week before hand, is it too early to throw a shower? and can I throw one myself because I know that way it'll be arranged :p LOL

I dont' think there are any hard and fast rules about when to have one. As long as you're pregnant - go for it!!

Nothing wrong with planning your own either. At least that way you get to have it the way that YOU want!

hey girls i hope its not rude to have a gift registry,would make it easier,but i know i have almost everything already and dont see the point of doulbing up so a gift registry would be a good idea i thought.

i had mine at about 8-9 weeks to EDD.... December 3rd and im due January 29th..
Have it when you want - just dont leave it to late as you could go early:D

I organised my own baby shower about 6 weeks before I was due... I don't think there are any rules as to when you should have it, i guess not too late as you might go early..

Love the idea of a gift registry.. it would stop the questions of 'what do you need?' Very hard when you don't really know what you really need if you dont know whats out there...

I think you should have it when it suits you.

I had my co-ed baby shower at 6 months, because my mother lives in Perth and she was coming over for a weeks holiday. It felt strange, but i had enough of a bump that i looked pregnant. It also meant i wasn't too tired or feeling sick either....it was that good time in your pregnancy. No one said anything about it being early.

We had a co-ed baby shower. The guys hung together outside...drinking beer and talking STUFF? They played one game with us...where we got to make nappies using loo paper. It was great.
