Hi, my son is now 5years old and recently flared up terribly with eczema to the point that he could not even see one day because it was covering his eye lid and face. He has had it on and off since a baby and I have always ended up with a cortisone cream which seems to become ineffective after a while. I have tried emu oil and his rash just spread, he was tested with a skin scraping because I became concerned it may have been fungal, but it was definately eczema. I needed to find some relief for him, he was scratching constantly and my nanna whom I hadn't seen for a while saw him and said she used condys crystals or potassium permanganate (potash) on my aunty when she was a child and it cured her condition. Why not give it a go, I had tried everything else, guess what!, although this is only the third day i am already seeing results, he is itching less and the rash does not appear to be as nasty and red, I only used it in a very dilute form or until the bath went a fushia or purple colour and watch out if to stong it will stain the skin brown and anything it touches. Anyway maybe I'm on to something- I'll keep you posted, also I have taken out alot of dairy from his diet as my gut instinct feels this may contribute to his flare ups. Regards Deb
