My specialist asked me to call my hospital of choice and ask them when I can book in and when they want to see me. i have been so scared of calling as im not in their 'zoning' area and I didnt want to have to go back to the hospital i had Abs in as I hated it there.
Long story short I just rang and im booked in! :smiliedance: I explained i had a bad experience and they had no issues taking us in :smiliedance: im thrilled! so now all i need is my referral letter! They are going to call me back in regards to my first appointment! Have i mentioned how thrilled and excited i am?!:smiliedance:
Has anyone else booked in?

I've booked in with my Ob at the hospital i wanted but not the Ob i wanted.
I was quite stressed on Monday because I went to book the Ob i wanted and he was booked out as was my second choice so then i just started ringing around and finally got an Ob at the hospital I want to give birth at. Hopefully my Ob is good!
Im booked in for my first appointment on 7th May :smiliedance:

I've already been to see my OB and have booked in at the public hospital as a private patient. We have an appoinment with the midwife on 27th April. Not sure what to expect as this is our first bub.
Does anyone know what they do at a midwife appointment?

eek at 7.45am... all our ivf apps were 7.15-7.30am so can empathise there... and we had heaps of em lol..
I havent booked anything yet, we have to wait for our scan in a few weeks then they are going to discuss with us what happens next. We havent decided yet whether we are going to go private or public yet.. I was overly impressed with the prenatal care with my last pregnancy, but the actual delivery was fantastic so might do a mix of publi/private if we can.

I love my new hospital already :smiliedance: when pregnant with DD my gp had to fax the hospital 3 times over 8 weeks to get them to call me! I chased them up so many times i dont even remember! Where as i rang this hospital yesterday to see if i could book in, she took all my details and said someone would call me with a time to come in-now i didnt expect a call for weeks and they just rang me! :smiliedance: im in on the 2nd of may :smiliedance:

I have booked my home birth midwife :) After having a high risk pregnancy last time and a high level of obstetric care, I am VERY excited about going low tech, low intervention, back to basics birth this time.
Don't be tardy booking in - if you know what you want, it's best to get in early, it is amazing how quickly places can fill up.

I went and saw my doc today she is booking me into the hospital, im doing shared care with my local GP.
One reason im doing shared care again is that i hate waiting around for doctors in hospitals:no: . Also there is nothing worse then waiting around with kids especially when she is only 6.5months old.
The hospital will contact me with an appointment time, just hope its not a day DH needs the car:fingerscrossed: .

We had all our appointments with my first pregnancy between 7 and 7.30am that was the way we wanted it so it was over and no waiting around and no delays in being seen.
We had our daughter at a public hospital and the care we got was better than private! And that is at a hospital not far from the city!

i got my booking in confirmation letter with forms to fill out yesterday :smiliedance: but then i read that the first appointment has to just be me by myself. No DH and no DD...what do you do if you cant organise someone to look after your child! i was so  DH will have to take the day off work and not even be able to come with me:mad:

How annoying! They used to make Dh wait outside sometimes when they asked about domestic violence and that stuff it really annoyed me but i suppose they have to do it.

DF & I went to our hospital appointment yesterday and booked in! had such a nice feel and the midwife who met with us was so great. I love their philosophies and beliefs. Plus guaranteed private room with double bed, with DF welcome to stay as long as he wants. Standard stay once had bubs is 4 nights and out 5th day - only if all is ok, otherwise can stay lkonger. they promote breastfeeding big time - but at the same time are open to other options if unable to, put bubs on you straight after birth. birth suite has bed with multi positions, has bath, shower, cd player, tv (not that i will be watching it LOL), can have whoever i want in with me at birth - but just want DF anyway. everything we wanted they had! umm... it just seems so great! :smiliedance:
have booked into antenatal classes as well. got lots of info, got my first bounty bag with few samples, info and magazines!
now just waiting for my ob appointment on 19th April! :yelclap:
