The only thing I could think of is preservatives.
That soup does have egg white in it too.

I wouldn't give it to her. Chinese restaurants use a lot of additives like MSG and salt. You could make your own though.

The jars of Heinz Chicken and Sweetcorn baby food taste exactly like what you'd get from a Chinese restaurant. Maybe you could make them a little bit more "soupy" by adding some cooled boiled water and them warming up?

Hi Rainbowbrite

You have to careful of MSG and little kids. I had a friend who worked with brains (gross) and he told me that due to thier relatively undeveloped brain, MSG can have effects on little kids that adults don't experience (can't remember what it was though - maybe I'm affected:D ). Apparently inthe "bad" old days baby food had MSG added to make it taste better (to the parents, a baby won't have developed a taste for saltiness) but they stopped it because of this issue.

Hi RB,

This is what I do for soup.

I buy a free range breast fillet or tenderloins and put that in water with some cut up bits of carrot and potatoe and cook until the breast is cooked through and vegies are soft.

This makes a really nice and natural chicken stock! Then I shred the chicken or puree it, and some of the vegies too, and put in a can of creamed corn!

Nice and easy and no added preservatives! Takes me 10 minutes all up. I also freeze it in ice cubes and store!

And it is so yummy!

I usually puree it all - chicken, vegies and stock with the creamed corn and it tastes like creamy chicken and corn soup! Dp and I have it for lunch and dinner for days. Very healthy. :D
