Elidel cream is the only product that works to reduce my eczema rash on my face.
It says on the box not 4 prolonged use. The doctor prescribed 2 tubes. I'm stressing a-bit as i get stared at quite bad being 27 yrs old with a huge rash on my face. Plus everything else i've tried just flares it up more. Any advice would be great.
Thanks

Hi,
You have my sympathies - facial eczema is awful....
best to talk to your dermatologist if you are worried. i was told if using elidel its v.important to avoid sun....there are also reports of links to cancer...talk to your doctor about this. but if it works you might be happy with possible risks. using 2 tubes is generally not considered long term use...read up on how to use elidel properly (i'm not suggestinmg you are not though!) on their website. also check out the UK based dermatology (.org.uk i think) website which has a good overview of treatments for the condition,.
one thing to consider is oral allergy syndrome. if you get hayfever/allergies/asthma it might be worth consulting an allergist. or if you have known pollen allergy, you could look up the foods associated with that pollen. i had persistant and pretty bad facial ezcema since becoming pregnant with my second child last year. nothing really helped - and i tried everything. i found out a couple of weeks ago, when i went to an allergist about an anaphylactic reaction (again developed during that pregnancy) to fish/seafood - that i have oral allergy syndrome...which is basically cross-reactive allergies to foods which are related to pollens in my case. my ezcema has disappeared (without using cortisone creams or anything other than moisturisers) since avoiding eating these foods raw - cooked is fine and this is typical. i'd never heard of it but wished i had been told earlier it would have saved lots of stress and distress....
good luck.
