hi all
just wondering if you might help me by rank ordering the following boys' names according to how much you like them (or not!). It's true....boys' names are SOOOOOO hard!!! his middle name will probably be Robert.

- Felix

- Hugo

- Isaac

- Reuben

- Louis

- Oscar

Isaac
Oscar

Hugo

Not particularly a fan of the last three.
I love Isaac but DH wouldn't have it as it was our high school principals last name..:rolleyes:
Isaac is so cute shortened to Ike.:)

I love Oscar and plus thats my cousins name and hes a cuties. Also I love Isaac as thats my godsons name, so they would be my faves. I think Felix is adorable!

i am leaning towards Felix myself. it means 'happy' which is nice. i like Oscar a lot too but the little boy next door who is alice's age is called Oscar and we might all get a bit confused at tea time each day!! my mum loves Hugo (it means 'intelligent' which is cool!). DH hates 'em all, except said he might tolerate Louis. :rolleyes:

Felix - I like it, reminds me of Felix the Cat which is my fave cartoon

Hugo - Sounds to porno, Oh Hugo, do it too me now Hugo.... Nope.

Isaac - I like it, Isaac Robert sounds good together too

Reuben - like the sandwich? Nah... Reuben Robert? Nope.

Louis - Not bad... but pronounced Lewis, or Louie?

Oscar - Cute, but there's a lot of Oscars around, and Oscar Robert sounds weird.

thanks boomtish!! i am starting to think i really like isaac now. "ike" is a very cute nickname. it does sound good with robert too! (btw - i have always loved the name eloise so much, and if we didn't have to pass down 'louise' as a middle name, i would have gone for it!!!).

have tossed Rueben, esp as, like u said, it really doesn't work with robert!

so it might be btw felix and isaac for me.

i just can't imagine a baby with the name isaac!!! it sounds so grown up to me, like Isaac Newton!! I guess that's when we'd call him Ike.

Felix ... just like Boomtish - it reminds me of the cat who whenever he got in a fix he reached into his back of tricks. also an old nickname of mine so not that keen.
Hugo ... don't mind Hugo but I don't see it on a baby. I've said it before though that I've never met a Hugo bub. What about Hugh?
Isaac ... i quite like Isaac but Isaac Robert doesn't roll off the tongue. Zachary does though.
Reuben ... reminds me of a Kenny Rogers song so I think it would go best with James as a middle name. Reuben James - you still walk the furthest field of my mind ......
Louis - i like louis with an 'e' sound better than louis with an 's'
Oscar - a favourite albeit a popular one. it also goes well with robert

I really like Isaac and would loved to use it for my baby but have had 3 freinds call their boys Isaac... so i'm not going to :)

Isn't that funny - I've always loved the name Alice and Eloise might have been an Alice had DP loved the name as well. LOL - How confusing for us on here had that happened - two Rachel's with Alice's! My middle name is Louise - Eloise is a combination of Ellen, her great grandmother and my middle name. :)

- Reuben - I hate it when people say this but . . . . . the only reason i don't like the name Reuben is a knew a guy with that name, and now i'm put off it (for several reasons!!).

On their own I prefer them in this order, but I must say with the middle name Robert, I think Louis Robert sounds the best.

thanks everyone for your feedback. i still love Hugo and Felix, but Robert (DH) hates them both.

Here is our new (short) list. Please tell me what you think of these, and then I will tell you which one(s) are my names and which one(s) are his:

Maxwell
Rory
Brian

BTW - Robert wouldn't work as a middle name with all of these i realise, so that would change.

I'm with your DH. I don't like the first list. Maybe Isaac - but every second kid seems to be Isaac lately.

I like the names on the second list better, and Robert should go with them too (depending on your surname.)

What about just Robert?

i like Oscar and Isaac is nice also, don't like the rest of them to be honest. Isaac does go better with Robert than what Oscar would.
