Miss 2 has developmental delay and is clumsier than a drunk on a bucks night most days. She has already cracked her head open once due to falling down and had a near miss last weekend. I'm sick of being over paranoid about her hurting herself and i want her to play naturaly with other kids her age but she can't as she always hurts herself. Is it ok for me to put a bike helmet on her so she can still play but not hurt herself ??

You can buy "helmets" for chn such as your little one, they are made from a poly foam type material, I will see if I can find out the name. They are similiar to a bike helmet but more comfortable to wear on little heads.

Hi - these are not the ones I'm thinking of, but these are good too.

I will try to remember the one that I am thinking of - you can buy them from medical supply type places.

I'll be back

this is what i would suggest too, and this would alert peoplen to the dangers she may face, whereas a bike helmut might just suggest to people that she's playing around or that she is going through a stage where she is particularly attached to her bike helmut.

Of course you can put a helmet/one of those excellent looking bumpas on your DD.

It will not only protect her but will make other parents and children aware.

my DD does not wares her helmet, not for any reason she just loves to have it on, so i think it would be a great idea.
i do get some people asking me why she has it on , i just tell them it was either that or have her scream.
plus it makes you look like your really active, alot of people also say to her "did you ride your bike here" :p .
