Hi Girls,
I've been thinking about baby names lately - DH and I aren't planning on trying again until mid next year - but I'm obsessed with finding names! I was wondering if there is some sort of etiquette or something when naming your next child?
Does it have to match or 'go with' the name of your other child/ren's name? I just thought about it the other day and was interested in hearing what others think.
We have Charlotte Victoria (Victoria is after my mum) Her name kinda came out a bit more posh sounding than we thought, but we love it all the same!
Some of the names we like are:
Olivia Grace
Georgia Rose
Remy Georgia
Oliver Jack
Pacey Jack
Also love to hear what others think of these names too? :)
First of all I think your DD has a beautiful name.
I do think it is nice for sibs to have the same style names and I think the names that you like definately go well with Charlotte! I think it would be really weird to have something like 'Sarah' and her sister to be called 'Kennedy' or something like that. Sarah is classical and Kennedy is trendy! KWIM? :p

Hi Tammy,
I think Charlotte Victoria is beautiful a little posh but hey maybe she will be when she grows up LOL :D
I agree with Leoni in re: to having similar styled names if that makes any sense,
that said we have an Orlando and if we have a baby girl next she'll be Iris so I dont know if they match or not??????
Anyway thats off the topic :p back to your names that you like,
Olivia Grace LOVE this name, big thumbs UP!
Georgia Rose Hmmm I like the name Georgia but I dont know about the Rose?
Remy Georgia Nope sorry Remy is a french boys name so I cant get passed that and see it as a girls name, sorry :o
Oliver Jack Yep Love this name too very cute!
Pacey Jack Jack I like, Pacey not so much I just keep thinking about Dawsons Creek and then Katie and then Tom Cruise  hehehehe
I agree with Leoni in re: to having similar styled names if that makes any sense,

I think Iris and Orlando match perfectly. You have great taste in names!

:) Thanks Leoni you made me smile and thats saying something after my horrible morning trying to shop for chrissy presents  I dont know what I was thinking leaving it this late!!!!
Your Welcome.
My family decided this year - NO PRESENTS! Instead we are taking ourselves down south ( we are in Perth ) to Margaret River ( wine country ) for five days. Our present to each other is our prescence.... Im glad I havent had to go shopping this year, I hate Xmas shopping. The only people I am buying for are my god sons and they are easy. Im getting them Hi5 and The Wiggles DVD's!
I hope the rest of your day gets better!

Thanks girls!
Leonic - I know what you mean...i was reading the goss mags and saw that pat rafter has named their children joshua and then India?
By the way - I love your poem in your sig, DH and I had that in part of our wedding vows!
Orlando's mum - She definately doesn't act posh at the moment!! lol I Love the name Orlando and I think Iris will go very well together! I agree with the Remy (or Remi) and Pacey - Those one's came from DH!! Where do these boys come up with these names! LOL He's been trying to convince me but I'm not yet sold! :) BTW he did get Pacey from Dawson's Creek!! It was our fav show back in the day...he he
Don't even get me started on Christmas presents  .....Have a great day both of you!
I obviously love Oliver and I also love Olivia!!
We have Oliver Tobias and we will have Amelia Mary, people seem to think that their names sound good together??!!
Good luck with the picking. At least you've got some time up your sleeve! ;)
I don't think names need to be matchy matchy, for example my name is Krystal (somewhat unusual) and my brothers are Adam and James. My parents just happened to like Biblical boy's names and "hippy-sounding" girls names!
Whatever you choose will be just fine.

Thanks Darkstar...Well, we have plenty of time to decide- actual a lot of time!! haha Just was curious about what people thought of the whole 'matching' thing.
Krystal reminds me of a really pretty girl I went to school with, so I've always liked that name!:-)

We seem to be going through a 'Dukes of Hazzard' naming phase!
We have Jesse and Lucas (Luke)!!!
DH was really going for Beau when I was pregnant with Jesse.
But I absolutely adore (fave name ever) Charlotte - twice I've had my heart set on a little Charlotte or "Lottie" for short - and twice boys have appeared.
I've always loved Charlotte Helena (after my grandmother) - mmmmmm love that name!

Charlotte Helena is beautiful! I hope you get your Charlotte one day too!
Actually my fav name was Lucas - but with 2 Lukes already in the Family - one born into the other married in, it kind of seemed a bit too much!! We already call one Little Luke and the other Big Luke! :-)

LOL darkstar I must be the same as your mum. My boys names are Ben, Christopher, David and James, and my girls Krystal, Claire and Jessie.
Well nearly all biblical names seeing I'm accused of being catholic seeing I have so many LOL. But I'm sure if I did read the bible I would see all of their names in there somewhere LOL. mmmm wonder what the next one will be LOL
many blessings

Charlibum,
Yeah, me too (fingers crossed)
Lucas never really gets called Lucas (only if we're trying to use the stern, in command voice!) he gets "Lukey" from everyone - I guess it's a baby thing.
When my friends were writing birthday cards to him everyone kept asking me how I would prefer Lukey spelt since his name doesn't actually have a K in it!
If you put a y on the end of his name it looks like "Lucy" or even "Lucey" - ohhh, the things I have time to worry about it:rolleyes:
